Yorkshire Tea strength gone south ..,

We’ve bought Yorkshire tea for years because we like a good strong cup of tea but the last few boxes have been a big disappointment, most of the tea bags make tea that looks ok but no flavour, even my Mum has noticed it’s no longer strong. Also when you separate the bags often one of the bags split. I think we will be looking for a different brand

Sadly we have stopped using Yorkshire…

Sadly we have stopped using Yorkshire tea bags after many years. Over recent months,we have noticed a major decline in both strength and flavour. Such a shame, these used to be about as good as tea bags get.

Disappointed

Disappointed. This was a strong, flavourful tea a few years ago - bought it last week and it seems weak and bitter now. As a South African in New Zealand, Yorkshire tea was very close to the SA brands - not any more. Will have to source my Joko tea somewhere - Joko really ticks all the boxes

Very Disappointing

I do not drink tea all the while, but every now and again, I fancy a cup. I decided to get myself a box of Yorkshire Tea, as I prefer a lovely strong cup of tea. From memory it seemed the only brand that did the job to provide a decent cuppa. What a disappointment, what have they done to this once great tea bag? It's nowhere near as strong as it used to be. No matter how you prepare your brew, it now provides a rather weaker cup of tea. I will not be buying them again and so the search commences..

Yorkshire Tea…now a big disappointment

From being an absolute Yorkshire Tea fan favourite with many cups a day, I hardly drink a cup at all now. The taste and quality are far under par and no longer the same drink. Very disappointed indeed.

Best tea ever

Best tea ever. Don’t understand the bad reviews. Drunk it for years, I am known for being powered by tea and being really really fussy! Strong and tasty. Lovely!

Yorkshire tea the best value colour and flavour.

Having drank Yorkshire tea for 30 years and running out in France. We tried two different brands known in England and both brands the tea was grey and tasteless . We have had family bring us 480 tea bags out and will ordering the pack containing over a thousand we love it .

What have you done to my tea

As a lot of the reviews that I’ve read on the new taste of Yorkshire tea bags, I’ve we’ve been buying both caffeinated and decaf Yorkshire tea for years.
We have a small B&B and have always supplied Yorkshire tea bags for our guests but not anymore, I don’t know what you’ve done but they both taste like swamp water.
I thought it was just my taste changing at first, but now realise after numerous guests and my wife’s comments that it’s not just me. Can you please revert to how you used to make the tea bags as I can no longer enjoy the taste of a true Yorkshire brew.

What has happened to Yorkshire Tea?!

What has happened to Yorkshire Tea? Loyal customer for many years but quality has steadily been getting worse. This is no longer the lovely rich and strong brew I loved. Persevered hoping it would improve but I am done now. Look at these awful ratings folks and do something. Stop using less and lower quality tea in your bags so you can maintain profit. I wouldn’t mind being charged a bit more to get the quality this brand once represented.

YORKSHIRE CUSTOMER SERVICES DO SOMETHING

Customer services, if you aren’t feeding back the awful reviews regarding your once great tea then you simply aren’t doing your job. Surely quality control need to be more aware of the most recent feedback which must be very damaging for your sales.

Don’t just reply to reviews, feedback where appropriate before it’s too late

Hello Clive, thank you for your review and we're very sorry to hear about your disappointment with the consistency of our brew quality, especially as you usually enjoy our Yorkshire Tea so much. We haven’t changed the blend of Yorkshire Tea or the quality and strength of flavour we're aiming for since we started making it. We're really proud of our tea and we won't compromise on quality - we'd like to reassure you that we haven't made any changes in order to cut costs. We do, of course, have to change where we source our leaves and the quantities of each tea we include in every batch depending on many factors that are outside our control. These include weather and growing conditions in our countries of origin, reliable supply of tea and being able to source the quality of leaves we require to make our blend. Our tea buyers do their very best to ensure consistency and quality, tasting each individual tea before blending and then tasting every blended batch up to eight times before it's packed.

It's really important to us that our consumers enjoy a proper brew and all customer feedback and reviews are closely monitored for continuous improvement. Having the codes from any affected boxes really helps in the monitoring process so if there's ever a box you're concerned about, we'd like to know about it, so please do get in touch with our team at hello@yorkshiretea.co.uk so they can log all details for our Quality Assurance Team and have some tea bags taste tested for you by our experts. Bought Yorkshire Gold for decades BUT.

I’ve bought Yorkshire Gold for decades, as long as it’s been out on the market. No other tea would do. BUT… for the past year now, it hasn’t been the same. Numerous boxes have had very poorly perforated tea bags, which has meant a good number have broken in every box and recently it just doesn’t taste like Yorkshire Gold. What on earth have you done???? You’ve ruined a fabulous tea that did not need to be improved! I’m so annoyed at what you’ve done to what is no longer my favourite tea. Has anyone else noticed this? I’m going to be shopping around for a new brand now. I’m just so fed up of companies charging ‘premium’ prices for something decent which they then turn into cheaper and inferior rubbish once they’ve got a loyal customer base! Get your old management back because whoever has gone has taken all the tea magic with them!

Your tea bags taste terrible recently

Your tea bags taste terrible recently. Bitter, harsh, low quality and just generally not a decent cup of tea. I have bought these tea bags for 30 years. Will be changing to another brand as the last 3 large boxes i have bought over the past 3 months or so have all been the same.. PLEASE NOTE: Do not reply saying “if theres a particular batch you are concerned about” because its all the batches! Just taste your stock of loose tea and tea bags and compare with the old flavour! Having worked for years in quality control myself, i’m sure your current quality control staff will be very well aware of the decline in flavour and quality and of the reasons for it. So don't ask for batch numbers! Taste test your product against the original that was available a few months ago!!!!

So interesting to come on here and see I am not alone. Been a Yorkshire Tea drinker for decades but it just doesn’t taste right any more. Can’t believe it but I’ve switched to Barry’s Irish tea which tastes just like Yorkshire used to…

Less tea in each bag?

Been buying Yorkshire Tea for years but we will be buying another brand from now on. We don't like strong tea but we do like it to have flavour, so we would be able to get two cups from a single bag. Not anymore, we need one bag per cup, effectively doubling the cost of our drinks. They will probably deny it, but we are pretty sure that they are cutting costs by putting less tea in each bag. Unfortunately, there are so many other customers who seem to be complaining about it that I don't see what other explanation there can be and all the manufacturer does is reply with a stock answer.

What have Yorkshire Tea done to their tea???

Just started on a new box of 240 tea bags and they are tasteless however long you brew them for. It's like drinking a cup of hot, brown water, not tea. Wish I'd known about this change before buying 2 boxes (which aren't cheap!). I now have the choice of wasting money and throwing them away or drinking over 400 cups of 'tea' that I don't enjoy! What have you done Yorkshire Tea? Your tea was by far the best but having had another brand on holiday I won't be wasting more money and will be switching. Very disappointing especially when we are all feeling the squeeze with the cost of everything lately.

Switch to another brand!

With all these negative reviews, one would think that the management of Yorkshire tea would take some action. I've noticed for several weeks that the tea bags give a significantly weaker brew than they used to. So I will be joining those who stop buying them. It's such a shame because I've been drinking Yorkshire Tea for years.
