I bought a box of 240 they are very weak, 2 make a decent cup, ive since changed to Yorkshire T bags which are much stronger and one T bag makes a decent cup.

Tetley is finished. Used to be Number One, but now not even worth rating to be honest. A spectacular fall from grace. And the current advert with the old codger asking his wife “Are you still here?” is absolutely disgraceful.

LESS TEA PER BAG.

They have at some point in the last year or so reduced the amount of tea per teabag. My experience is only with Tetley original one cup (440 pack).

Simply, the newer teabags I have bought taste weak and feel light. Thankfully I had some old teabags in the back of the cupboard and was able to compare. The new bags are weighing just over 2g with the old ones weighing just over 3g.

Old pack = 1320g
New pack = 880g

STILL THE SAME PRICE.

I have recently (within the past 2 weeks) bought a bag of 440 one cup teabags.
Initially when I took one out it felt light & thin, I poured them all out and they all felt & looked the same and tasted EXTREMELY weak like literally milky water.
I still had some left from a bag of 440 I had from 2025 that I forgot about, found them & immediately felt the difference.
I weighed multiple from both bags and the new bag per teabag was 1-1.5g less.
That’s 440g less per 440 bag of tea bags.
I paid the same amount as I did in 2025 and the previous few years.

Literal robbery and I won’t ever be buying Tetley teabags again.

I've drank Tetley tea all my married life (51 years). Not anymore it's like dishwater. We now drink Yorkshire Tea what a difference. How tea should taste.

Opened a box of tetley decaff...disgusting, tasted of perfume will be putting the full box less 2 in the bin

I'm so glad I looked these reviews up because I thought I was going mad. What have Tetley done to their decaf tea bags? They taste awful. Not buying Tetley again after years of only using their brand.

I believe Tetley Tea original gets a bad rap here! I’m British have been drinking this on and off all my life since the 70s and it’s still up there with quality! Way better than supermarket brands with quality and a well rounded taste. Probably as good as Yorkshire tea. At least Tetley don’t FAF UP the tea bags. They don’t split! .. Stop Moaning people the British are so miserable!

Like most reviews I was surprised by my last purchase of Tetley tea bags, I found the tea to be bland and noted that the contents of the bags had been reduced, this also gave the impression that the bags were smaller.
Very disappointing and as such will be purchasing another brand of tea.
Tetley looses another customer!

Tetley isnt Brittish, owned by India's Tata Group. Sorry never buying again.
I Cant drink tetley origional tea bags they are absolutely MINGING! 🤢🤮
The tea bags make a cup of tea DIRTY CONTAMINATED taiste is disgusting!!!
One reviewer described the taiste as SAWDUST OFF THE FLOOR she is 1000%on point. Not PURE!!!!

I tried that tea for the first time in ages and I can say it's is god awful it's very small amounts of dust in a bag and has little to no flavour it's bland to say the least least it's not what it used to be and there is a huge decline in it's flavour and quality I would advise anyone and everyone to avoid buying it terrible 👎

I have used Tetley decaf tea bags for many years, recently as December 2025 they started to taste sour, I actually thought it was my taste buds, turns out I am not the only one having this problem, I am not keen on the Yorkshire tea decaf, any recommendations.

Suddenly, the new box of 240 teabags opened this morning smells very strong and the tea tastes as though it is 'stewed', i.e. made with water that isn't boiling. I had to leave it and asked husband to buy me another brand or Tesco's own brand if they have it.

Awful. The tea bags just seem full of dust and not much else. I live in a hard water area and the tanning and scum left around the mug after drinking a cup has to been seen to be believed. They never used to be such poor quality and I won't buy them ever again.

Tetley tea tastes like the plastic bag. I've just opened a 400 bag pack and I will never be buying them again. I have 2 cups of tea in the morning and the first cup was fine because it was teabags that are from a box we brought a couple of weeks ago. I've opened the bag made a cup of tea and good godit smells of chemicals and plastic. Its awful and with the 1 sip I took i knew it was wrong. I will be taking them back to Asda for a refund. Tetley tea is undrinkable.

2000 Tetley was sold off to a indian company and god don't we know it .. we in the uk are drinking dish water , they have killed a British intuition and i will not be buying any more .. 60 years i have been drinking Tetley tea and now it is nothing more that a dish water hot water drink that is rank rotten .i repeat it is rank rotten .. you have killed it now, ..

Anyone noticed fragrant smell from tetley tea?

Changed supermarkets so bought Tetley Original tea bags. What a mistake - harsh, acidic and no discernible "tea" taste! I cannot believe that anyone likes this and it's almost twice the price of my usual Sainsbury's Red Label. Also enjoy Yorkshire Tea so I can't understand what's wrong with Tetley. In spite of the hideous waste (I stupidly bought 400) it's going into the bin and I'n never buying this once great brand again!

Has anyone noticed a very strange taste in tetley teabags recently. It tastes sort of metallic or something that I cannot explain. I always buy tetley tea bags but I wont be now.. the price of them is expensive to have a taste like that. Tetley what have you changed about the process of your teabags. Sort it or people just will not buy. TASTE DISGUSTING......I used to enjoy a cup of this tea. But, over about 6months noticed this foul taste......never buy again. The paper that holds the tea looks less pourous and deffo less tea within the paper they are in. Terrible tea. To cut back on things within your brand will be this companies down fall.

I opened the teabags and it looks like what has been scraped of their floor. Hardly any tea leafs and looks like finly ground coffee.....cheap rubbish at a hige price. Just lost a long customer for yiur brand....eeeee

They used to have a lining inside their boxes....the larger pack which is plastic does not taste as bad so could be the cardboard.....who knows. I am not buying them now anyway...
