Tetley tea tastes like the plastic bag. I've just opened a 400 bag pack and I will never be buying them again. I have 2 cups of tea in the morning and the first cup was fine because it was teabags that are from a box we brought a couple of weeks ago. I've opened the bag made a cup of tea and good godit smells of chemicals and plastic. Its awful and with the 1 sip I took i knew it was wrong. I will be taking them back to Asda for a refund. Tetley tea is undrinkable.

2000 Tetley was sold off to a indian company and god don't we know it .. we in the uk are drinking dish water , they have killed a British intuition and i will not be buying any more .. 60 years i have been drinking Tetley tea and now it is nothing more that a dish water hot water drink that is rank rotten .i repeat it is rank rotten .. you have killed it now, ..

Anyone noticed fragrant smell from tetley tea?

Changed supermarkets so bought Tetley Original tea bags. What a mistake - harsh, acidic and no discernible "tea" taste! I cannot believe that anyone likes this and it's almost twice the price of my usual Sainsbury's Red Label. Also enjoy Yorkshire Tea so I can't understand what's wrong with Tetley. In spite of the hideous waste (I stupidly bought 400) it's going into the bin and I'n never buying this once great brand again!

Has anyone noticed a very strange taste in tetley teabags recently. It tastes sort of metallic or something that I cannot explain. I always buy tetley tea bags but I wont be now.. the price of them is expensive to have a taste like that. Tetley what have you changed about the process of your teabags. Sort it or people just will not buy. TASTE DISGUSTING......I used to enjoy a cup of this tea. But, over about 6months noticed this foul taste......never buy again. The paper that holds the tea looks less pourous and deffo less tea within the paper they are in. Terrible tea. To cut back on things within your brand will be this companies down fall.

I opened the teabags and it looks like what has been scraped of their floor. Hardly any tea leafs and looks like finly ground coffee.....cheap rubbish at a hige price. Just lost a long customer for yiur brand....eeeee

They used to have a lining inside their boxes....the larger pack which is plastic does not taste as bad so could be the cardboard.....who knows. I am not buying them now anyway...

I have notice a change in Tetley decaf tea bag’s it tastes as if they they have shoveled it up off the floor and it taste horrid what has happened as I’ve always drank it and enjoyed it

I agree with others, the taste is different, also there is much less tea in the tea bags now. i will be changing my brand of tea from now on. Tetley, you just lost another customer.

I have used Tetley tea bags for year and we provide them for our customers in our AirBnB.
I recently purchased a 440 bag the taste is absolutely awful I noticed the tea bags have less tea in them compared to the old ones also it just does not taste like tea there's a bland cardboard taste, I have removed them from our AirBnB and have had to dump the recent purchase. Tetley you need to sort this rapidly very very disappointed customer

Glad to read that other people have found the taste of Tetley T Bags has become awful over recent months. I have always drank Tetley and I'm 62 years old but this last and large box is going straight into the bin after only 4 bags of perseverance. Horrid and tastes like the cardboard it's packed in!

Terrible customer service, they don't care. Won't buy again after a con competition and a back and forth where they couldn't give a monkeys.

I've drunk tetley tea forever but the last batch of English Breakfast tastes horrible - it tastes of fat, or as if the bags have been made in a fish and chip shop. A friend had a cup of tea with me yesterday. She said it was undrinkable so not just me!

I thought it was just my taste buds, but looking at the reviews, it’s not just me that thinks Tetley Tea Bags all of a sudden taste horrible, so with immediate effect I am dumping them and buying another brand.

I’ve drunk Tetley’s tea for years. I’m having to leave the bag in the cup to try to get some taste and colour in it. Is it me or is there less tea in the bags now? This is the second big bag I’ve bought so obviously not a one off.
Think it maybe time to look for a different brand of tea.Very disappointing Tetley

This has been going on now for over 12months whereas the Tea Bags burst in the cup? Despite complaining (& receiving Coupons) I would much prefer the bags don't burst! Just totally annoying!

I have just brought 40 T bags, caffeinated. They are contained in the cardboard box but there is no other forms of being sealed, there is a plastic wrapper on the box overall but nothing separating the T bags from the cardboard. So far, every one tastes of the cardboard. HORRIBLE. I am about to try another, if this is the same I will never buy this product again and will bin the remainder as it is undrinkable.

Tetley Tea tastes like chewed up paper. I used to chew up pieces of paper 45 years ago at school to shoot through a biro sleeve so I remember what it tastes like and Tetley's Tea tastes the same. I will not be buying it any longer but will instead look for brands that have not sacrificed customer experience on the alter of value signalled environmentalism that amounts to nothing more than greenwash. What a shame such an iconic brand has collapsed.

I thought it is just me but after reading other reviews, it seems the quality of Tetley has gone down. Bought a big pack to save money, but two tea bags and still the taste is not good. This is experienced from past 2 months since we purchased the big pack.

Something is wrong, we just purchased 6 boxes of British Blend, tried bags from each. All taste like cardboard or sawdust. No flavor at all.

Bought large bag Tetley T bags just, always been my preferred brand but awful taste/ no taste, even using 2 bags which costs more. What has happened? Not sure I'll continue to use the 100s of bags I have left so looking to change brand which is hugely disappointing 😕

never thought I'd write a review of a tea bag but my god!! what has happened?
put the tea bag in, no colour change in water, no taste.
may as well drink hot water.
