What have Yorkshire Tea done to their tea???

Just started on a new box of 240 tea bags and they are tasteless however long you brew them for. It's like drinking a cup of hot, brown water, not tea. Wish I'd known about this change before buying 2 boxes (which aren't cheap!). I now have the choice of wasting money and throwing them away or drinking over 400 cups of 'tea' that I don't enjoy! What have you done Yorkshire Tea? Your tea was by far the best but having had another brand on holiday I won't be wasting more money and will be switching. Very disappointing especially when we are all feeling the squeeze with the cost of everything lately.

Switch to another brand!

With all these negative reviews, one would think that the management of Yorkshire tea would take some action. I've noticed for several weeks that the tea bags give a significantly weaker brew than they used to. So I will be joining those who stop buying them. It's such a shame because I've been drinking Yorkshire Tea for years.

Glad it isn't just me

I've been buying Yorkshire Gold loose leaf tea for decades. Over the last couple years the flavour has changed. Often there is a smoky character that it never had in the past. The glorious flavour has faded. I don't rate it as poorly as most here because I have been unable to find anything I like better. I hope great tea isn't going the way of the dinosaurs.

TOTAL GREED !!!!

Same old story these days welcome to the 21st century! I don't think!!! More or less everything edible nowadays has either shrunk or watered down!! I'm afraid I don't trust anything in this so called World anymore that includes Yorkshire tea (yuck!!) you have to put 2 tea bags in a cup to make it stronger that's probably what they have planned out so you have to buy more quicker for bigger profits! disgusting behaviour!! no more so called Yorkshire tea for me!! it's so sad!! !! GREED☹️!! will come back to bite them on the bum!! Sooner the better 😒

I am sure most of this is fake

I am sure most of this is fake. None of the leaves are as advertised from the selected regions and first pick. This tea leaves dust in the teacup which first pick leaves never do. Would recommend NZ tea company breakfast blend way ahead of current item being touted as genuine “Taylors Yorkshire Gold”

Foul Tasting

I left a review a while ago as the tea bags were weak so I stopped drinking Yorkshire tea. I tried it again, months later, at my mum’s and it tasted like it used to so I started to buy it again. But, it has gone weak again plus has an odd taste, like you’re drinking rooibos tea. Will stop buying them again but this time I won’t go back to trying them. The taste is so foul it’s not drinkable.

Please stop the rot before I jump ship

As many have said before the quality is no longer there. I used to drink plain old yorkshire tea but then that went weak as wee so I paid a premium and went yorkshire gold, now every other box of that is gnats pee, I've been drinking yorkshire for over 30 years and I'm from lancashire tha knows!

I don't know if it is a drop in the quality of the ingredients or an issue with the bags but I can leave a brew stewing for over 10 minutes, then commit the cardinal sin of squishing the bag against the wall of the mug multiple times, add a dash of milk (I mean a dash most people are like is it worth bothering) and voila, dishwater.

I have my suspicions that it's the bags as the quality of these has gone down noticeably with regards to the perforations, more bags splitting/bursting. Sadly based on the number of complaints it would appear that Taylors know what the problem is but are willing to take the customer leakage as the cost savings outweight them, thus far....

Please treat these genuine reviews from long term consumers with the seriousness they deserve. I don't have batch numbers, I keep my tea in a caddy, my tea game is strong, of late yours is weak, like the tea!

Flavour and strength gone

I loved Yorkshire tea for the full flavour and strength as preferred a stronger cuppa. Only ever drank this tea for so many years. I totally agree with most of these reviews, the distinct flavour you can tell a mile off was Yorkshire tea now gone as well as the strength. Flavour now lacking, something has changed and feel so disappointed. Will not be buying again and test other brands out as the once distinct taste that was above other tea has now gone, so not paying a premium for this now bog standard tea. Sort it out Taylor’s you are loosing many customers.

I thought it was my taste that had gone off after a cold but my tea is now weaker, not as coloured and tastes like I’ve put too much milk in. Get a grip or you will definitely lose customers. We feel cheated.

What’s happened to Yorkshire Tea?

An update on my experience following the contact I made with the Yorkshire tea team. I could not fault the customer service. A full explanation was provided very promptly and, without any expectation, some tea bags arrived on my doorstep. Excellent and thoughtful response which is a fairly rare thing nowadays when you are dealing with AI bots and impossible websites. Good for them and on that basis I have updated my rating.

My experience was very similar to that of another reviewer below (Marie) as I got back into the camper van for the first trip of the year and had a cup of Yorkshire (our regular tea of choice) from a tea bag in the van from last autumn and the difference was stark! Deep colour and strong taste. For a quick cuppa my husband and I would get away with a single tea bag for a couple of mugs. But it is now pale and without the strong taste. Sadly we will be looking into alternative options. I’ve seen the responses from Yorkshire about providing the box number but I fear that the problem is more widespread than a dodgy batch.

Not that great anymore

Well. . I thought it was just me, but then I saw the reviews.
I loved Yorkshire Tea, the only brand I drank as the others are flavourless. However, I've also noticed recently that Yorkshire Tea doesn't taste the same.
It doesn't have that amazing smell or colour and don't get me started on the bland taste.
I'm truly disappointed as I loved a cuppa. Not sure if they are cutting costs and buying cheap leaves or mixing it with with other poor leaves.
Please change it back to how it was.

Yorkshire tea bags, not the same. Other reviews saying the same thing. I used to be able to do two cups with one tea bag but not now . You say nothing has changed , but clearly it has. Taste is nothing like it was

We have been lovers of Yorkshire tea for many years but in the last year the tea is not what we've come to expect. Tasteless, weak, poor aroma and colour. Sadly we are being forced to change and will no longer be buying this product.

Yorkshire Tea now unrecognisable

The taste of the tea has deteriorated, unrecognisable from the Yorkshire Tea we have known and loved for years. I brought this to their attention in December 2024 and again in January of this year. I’ve yet to have an acknowledgment from them. However this has given us the chance to try out other teas and we’ve now settled on a new brand.

Totally agree with recent reviews on Yorkshire Tea. Current box tastes totally weak flavourless and missing the deep colour of quality Yorkshire Tea. I’ve been a loyal customer for decades. Even taking bags abroad on holiday. Mentioned to my son who also uses Yorkshire and he said they’d commented on this too. l have another 210 box unopened too probably bought from Home Bargains…. Looking at the bags they do seem less than a third full….

The tea has changed

The tea has changed, the taste and colour is vastly different. I have been using Yorkshire for many years. These are like the decaf, where you need less milk. I will be changing. Possibly a batch problem.

Bursting bags

Bursting bags - have Yorkshire tea changed the bags? It seems to me the last couple of boxes of bothe regular and decaf tea bags are either tearing when separating the bags or bursting whilst brewing. Not what I expect from my favourite tea and makes a terrible mess when they tear whilst separating the bags. Come on Yorkshire tea, get it sorted!

This review is for the Yorkshire Gold…

This review is for the Yorkshire Gold bought from viking direct. I bought 2 boxes of their so- called Gold (blend ) and the tea bags in both boxes had ZERO taste, flavour or aroma whatsoever even with using 2 tea bags in a cup at the same time. No flavour, taste or aroma either even when brewing them in a teapot. It is like drinking brown hot water. These tea bags were quite expensive and i wouldn't use them again even if i got them for free.
It only stains the mug/ cup and a complete rip off.
