Low quality for a high price

Low quality for a high price. The smoked salmon tasted like canned salmon, and the venison sausages were hard to eat. Most of the box just ended up going to my dogs. I really cannot believe this company is still in business.

Terrible shipping. Not worth the waste.

We have been with them for over a year. We love the products... individual packaging is lacking in quality though, very leaky... and our final straw is the terrible shipping. They use the lowest tier of FedEx. There have always been delivery issues from day 1... but today I had to throw out an entire box of meat. It's so disrespectful to the animal that died for this waste, to the ranchers and those who are starving around the world. It's just not worth it at this point. They need to change delivery. It always barely made it and the drivers that do deliver it throw it at the end of our VERY long shared driveway. The never deliver it to the door. For the price you pay, they need to pay for better shipping. We are canceling our subscription and going to try to go more local. Hopefully we can get a refund.

I never received shipment. Please help. I'm a disabled veteran from Iraq. 3rd armored 12th combat engineers. I have a very little income and I saved for a treat. They never delivered. Bad deal on crowd cow. Very bad.

Wagyu beef from Crowd Cow does not taste like in Japan

We ordered Wagyu beef from Crowd Cow. While the meat looked similar to Wagyu beef, it did not taste like Wagyu beef in Japan. We felt nausea after eating the beef from Crowd Cow. We have been to Japan several times. The Wagyu beef from Crowd Cow is vastly inferior to the Wagyu beef in Japan. Crowd Cow should be ashamed of selling low-quality beef! This company seems to be a fraud.

Beware of this company- FRAUD

Beware of this company! They charged my credit card for over $4000 in the last 30 days and I never made one purchase from them directly. Either they directly or indirectly helped someone with online fraud. I have frozen the card now. This was the ONLY fraudulent charge so this company never verified the associated address or used identity verification to confirm the purchases were authorized. When I alerted them to the fraud there was no response. This company has sketchy business practices and should not be trusted.

Don’t buy their ground beef

Don’t buy their ground beef. Minced orange in color. Not red at all. Informed them of this and got standard bs about how beef turns brown lol. Wasn’t brown or red it was ORANGE. Told them I didn’t eat it as it looked like chorizo minus seasoning and they did NOTHING Even sent photos of their product next to competitors which I wish I could post here so you can see for yourself

I have been a crowd cow customer for quite a while-21 orders! Last order I purchased Ralston Cattle Co.’s short ribs. Total rip-off, all fat and bone. Zero response from multiple texts to customer service. Inexcusable.

There is NO customer service with CrowdCow

There is NO customer service with CrowdCow. You either have to text them or email them and await their mercy to get back to you. There is no phone number to call. If your shipment is late, they just give you a boiler plate response stating that they packed enough dry ice to keep the meats frozen for an extended period of time. In other words, they are no help at all.

My problem is that my order was supposed to arrive on Friday and it was delayed until Monday delivery. One day might be ok, but 3 days is a bit too much for my comfort. In addition, my $400 order was supposed to be for Valentine's Day (Sunday). This left me scrambling for alternative V-Day events.

I will source my meats elsewhere in the future and I will highly recommend you go elsewhere.

Missing items in the box, bad customer service.

I did order at Crowd Cow because I did hear about it from a trustworthy source. I saw Wild Alaskan Halibut and decided to try it. I placed an order with many different items beside Wild Alaskan Halibut to get free shipping. My package arrived as expected in 2 business days. I was excited to try new products, especially Wild Alaskan Halibut, but to my surprise, Wild Alaskan Halibut was missing in the box. I immediately send a message to the company asking about missing items, but not get an answer in 24 hours. The next day I send a message to another email address and got no response also. Finally, after 8 hours from my second email, I got a response from them saying that they credit my account at crowd cow for missing items (not my credit card). I was surprised because I didn't create an account with them. So I send another email asking either to send my missing items or credit my card and I got an interesting reply saying that can't send missing items because their system does not allow send orders less than 50$ and they credit my card in 3-5 business days. What a poor company, their system doesn't allow me to send what I ordered! Not recommended at all!

Never had a Crowd Cow order go smoothly

As a repeat customer, I have never had a Crowd Cow order go smoothly. Wrong items in order, delayed shipping, every time it's something.

One time they sent me something that did not even exist as an item anywhere on their website, not even something you could put yourself on the waiting list for (4oz A3 petite olive wagyu striploin instead of the more expensive 4oz A4 petite olive wagyu striploin I had ordered), *and* it got there a day late, ruining the A4-A5 petite olive wagyu striploin "taste test" wedding anniversary dinner I had planned.

My latest order, which I still have yet to receive and surely will have to get a refund for, was scanned at my nearest FedEx distribution center before disappearing off the face of the earth for days, and then reappearing halfway across the country from me. If (and that's a big if) I get this package by the new estimated delivery date, it will have been a week since it was shipped out. (FedEx, whenever it isn't having its daily outage, thinks it will get here on Sunday, a full 7 days after it was shipped.)

Ordered it for Tuesday, and as usual I get an email on Sunday, the day it was to be shipped out, that it was going to be a day late. On Wednesday morning, the package was at my distro center, but then it still hadn't arrived by midnight. I even checked outside to see if FedEx had ding dong ditched it, but no. Then I don't get another update until nearly 10pm Thursday night, when it has veered 1900 miles away in the complete wrong direction. There's fish and seafood in this order. 15 pounds of dry ice is not going to cut it. It's going to arrive fishy and gross, if at all. Another anniversary, the anniversary of our first date, ruined and postponed.

Everyone who has contacted them for customer support, you have to be patient. Between the pandemic and Crowd Cow's terrible infrastructure (and no way to reach an actual human until they get around to you), getting help takes weeks. I got the olive wagyu order partially refunded but it took weeks for them to finally get back to me and credit my credit card. It even has taken 4-7 days to even get the first canned response saying there's a backlog due to the holidays (which, if anyone is counting, are over, unless you count Valentine's Day, which I don't consider part of the "holiday season"), but the backlog seems to be all the time. It's like they don't want to increase their staff in case the pandemic dies down soon and they're suddenly stuck with paying or left with having to fire a bunch of extra CS agents. Or maybe they just don't want to raise their prices or lower their profit margins.

As for meat quality, their Japanese wagyu is on par with restaurant Japanese wagyu, but their domestic beef, pork, and chicken are drier than grassfed organic meat I get from Sprouts. I feel CCow may be a tad too lean for people on a high protein, high fat, low carb diet but okay for people stuck in the 80s who are still squeamish about dietary fat.

I believe in what they're trying to do and want to support them but it's kind of hard to when they're so unreliable and CS is so slow. I want to use them as a source for our family's everyday meat but the fact that they can't handle the few orders I've made for special occasions makes me afraid to rely on them on a regular basis.

Update: after getting back into my state last night, as of this morning my package has once again traveled 1600 miles away from me, on the day it was rescheduled to arrive at my door. I cannot justify continuing to use this service, nor can I recommend it to anyone.

Somebody illegitimately used my email…

Somebody illegitimately used my email to make an account on this website. For some reason there is no email verification so someone was able to make an account without my approval. I contacted customer service and the person's response didn't match my request. I will never use this website and I reccomend it to nobody.

Please do not do business with this company. I had purchased a $200 gift card and inquired about the first time 25 off discount for first customers. The only response I ever got was asking my name and email address. I waited a week and reached out several times both by email and text since this company is so unprofessional they don’t even have a phone service. Needless to say I was ignored on every response and asked for my $200 gift card to be refunded to which they also ignored. This company just wants to take your money and not respond to any questions you may have or anything else. Avoid at all costs.

If I had known

If I had known how difficult it would be to get customer service at Crowdcow.com I never would have purchased a gift card as Christmas gift for someone. There is no live telephone customer service. I sent a text to a text-only phone number but I never received a response. When I tried to check on whether or not my gift was actually sent to the recipient, there was no record of my gift e-card order in my account on the website- although my credit card
was charged for the purchase. Very disappointing!

Mosner Family chicken raised right Fantastic

I placed an order, I was surprised it was shipped from Cargill, not what I expected, not a local SMALL company, I complain and was immediately responded to, by someone I declined to listen too. But, what I want to say, the chicken thighs I ordered, were delicious, I never knew there was that much difference in taste compared to store bought. Just salt and pepper, and my oven, I'm glad I didn't marinade it our seasoned anything more.The Mosner family's Chicken raised right Chicken thighs were fantastic, I have another package in my freezer and it is taking everything I got to save it for a later day.

I am a (former) long-time customer of Crowd Cow

I am a long-time customer of Crowd Cow. At my peak I was ordering at least once a month. Their service has taken a beating during the pandemic. While I am a fan of their products, their delivery relationship with FedEx has become undependable. My last three orders arrived in a state of thawing. At least two days later than promised, with all dry ice gone. Their response? Well, as long as it’s still cold, put products in the refrigerator and use them soon.
But that is not why I use their service. I have ordered from Crowd Cow to stock my freezer...and you should not refreeze thawed meats.
And their customer service is non-existent....cutting and pasting the same response, and offering no interest in the fact that a promised “two day” delivery is taking four days.
Very good product...horrible delivery and customer support.

Wow I'm not alone

Wow I'm not alone. Bottom line you can't get a hold of anybody. Emails are AI. Text are AI. After many bad post on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and even freaking Pintrest, I got a humanoid response putting the blame on FedEx. The farmers have good product and you should try and deal with them direct after explaining your experience with Crowd Cow. They take no blame. Research other vendors if possible. Investers take note on this, this company has extremely poor customer service. Look at these poor reviews. You don't deserve to represent good folks of America. It's not the delay bozos, it's your pathetic response.

Unresponsive customer service/sends thawed meat

Please do not use this company if you value good customer service. I made 3 attempts to reach customer service when I was notified that my delivery would be 4 days late. I only received canned email and text message responses. Once I received my shipment, all the ice was melted and all but two pounds of ground beef were thawed. I reached out via email and text message to let them know of my dissatisfaction as I would not be able to use all the meat prior to it going off. I have yet to receive a response of any sort. I will not recommend this company to anyone. Buyer beware with these folks!

I placed two orders for Christmas…

I placed two orders for Christmas gifts. the actual order numbers were 2895-343604 and 2895-343630. Each order had the same pieces of A5 Wagyu. The orders were placed within 1/2 hour of each other. Each included the A5 ribeye that cost $170. The second order was delivered but the first order, which I schedule for delivery a week later, was shipped without the ribeye. They said they were out of the ribeye. However, their web site was still offering the ribeye in different bundles.

They emailed me and said that the $170 would be added to my account for future orders. They did not even ask if I wanted something else and I was not offered for the money to go back on my credit card.

This is no way to run a business. I sent several emails and as of this time, none were returned. In addition, you cannot call them directly.

I told my son what he was getting for Christmas and now it will be missing the best piece of meat.

Goodbye Crowdcow !

I would love to say Crowdcow I with the money, it is just not. I grew up on a ranch "40" years ago, and I was hoping to capture the fresh and delicious meat I grew up on. Some of the beef is good and tasty, but the buffalo and chicken are not worth 1/2 of the price. The worst part of Crowd Cow is the butchering of the meat, daily thin steaks 3/4 inch, which in my opinion that cut is dinner quality. I have had several emails back and forth with customer support. Although they acknowledge that they do not offer thick cuts, they have no plans of changing anything. You will notice no pictures of the steak show the thickness of the cuts. I'm canceling my subscription. Shop local Wholefoods and high-end butcher!

For the first time Crowd Cow disappoints

I have ordered from Crowd Cow several times and have never been disappointed until this delivery. Their pork, beef, chicken and scallops have been excellent. This time I added Wild Icelandic Red Fish(ocean perch) and Wild Icelandic Wolffish based on their descriptions as mild tasting and sweet. Neither lived up to their description. The Wolffish was OK but was not mild. The wife ate it but was clearly not happy (she does not eat anything but very mild fish). My taste did not come close to matching the description “likened to lobster and crab for its mild, sweet finish, Wolfish is a well-loved delicacy with a satisfyingly clean taste. This pearly-white…”. Was not overly strong but nothing to write home about. The Redfish (perch) was another story. As soon as I opened the box I knew there was a problem. The perch had that old fish smell right through the packaging. When I opened the package it was pronounced. I am a fisherman and eat many types of fish. The fish arrived solidly frozen so shipping was not the issue. I soaked in milk for an hour hoping it would help but did not. I ate it but it reminded me when my father use to force me to eat bluefish. Might have been a problem from source to freezing. I still have halibut and mussels from this shipment and hopefully they live up to the high Crowd Cow standards. Either way I will not be ordering these 2 fish again.
