No Turkey; Worst Customer Service Ever!
Similar to other reviews, the service is terrible and left us stranded without a Turkey for Thanksgiving. We ordered our Turkey in October with a delivery date of Monday, November 22, 2021. On that day we got an email that was a bit confusing; it stated the new delivery date was Friday November 26th (worthless as this is the day after Thanksgiving) but when you clicked on the tracking is stated it was delivered on Monday at 8:56 am. This is when things started going downhill.
As others have found out, there is no phone number to call, and you have to send an email or a text message, which we did on Monday morning. We got a reply at 5:06 pm stating that either it was delivered to a neighbor and it will show up, UPS marked it as delivered but it may still show up the same day before 9 pm or it is lost and please contact then again in 24 hours if we had still not received the package they would get with UPS and find out what went wrong. We only have 6 housed on our street (and it is the only street in our city with anything close to the same name) so we checked with each of our neighbors and they did not have it. So I waited until Tuesday and send another text and received no response. Sent another note this morning inquiring if they had initiated the tracking with UPS, but no response. As tomorrow is Thanksgiving and it takes a couple of days to propery and safely thaw a Turkey, we were now left without a Turkey for our family gathering on Thanksgiving. Went to the store and guess what? All the news stories about a Turkey shortage were true... no Turkeys! So now I am planning on Lasagna for the gathering, which is usually our Christmas gathering meal, and a poor substitute for the only meal we cook Turkey for the entire meal.
I understand there are supply chain chain issues, this is a COOP relying on independent producers and sh** happens and sometimes things beyond a company's control happens. What is unacceptable is the lack of communications, transparency and updates to the process. I do not care if you are a "mom & pop" org or not, not communicating is unacceptable and their delay or outright refusal to communicate has resulted in a slight disaster and a lot of stress for our holiday gathering. I have initiated a dispute with Visa on the order and just hope that will result in the return of the money I pre-paid.
After reading the other reviews on trustpilot.com I see that my experience is not unique, and the phrase "misery loves company" is poor solace. With this experience I personally will not order from CrowdCow again or any other enterprise from the founders of that company (Joe Heitzeberg and Ethan Lowry in Seattle) and certainly would not recommend anyone else considering ordering from that company or those individuals. Their callous disregard in this situation is inexcusable. Perhaps they need to raise ostriches so they can bury their head in the sand with the rest of the birds and pretend nothing happened... might make them feel better....
An Update: Friday after Thanksgiving, the Turkey finally arrived. While the CrowdCow website said it was delivered on Monday morning, the UPS tracking number on the delivered box stated it was MAILED on Monday. There seems to be an issue with their e-commerce platform. In any event, CrowdCow finally contacted me and refunded me the money for the turkey. Although the frustration and panic of not having a turkey was upsetting, at the end of the day, the company did the right thing. Upgrading to 2 stars because of the response...
HORRIBLE
HORRIBLE! Ordered turkey for delivery November 19th. Now it's Monday, the 22nd and NO TURKEY. An email said it would come on Wednesday--frozen!!!! Plus, when I went to "track order," it said the turkey was delivered today at 8:05 am???? It wasn't. I will NEVER deal with these people again. Also, there is no phone number where you can speak to a human-just email and text!!!

I thought we were alone or maybe a few complaining about this company. I regret I didn't look them up before ordering, but never again.
Here's our story....
We purchased one order and received 40 emails from this vendor.
They auto signed us up for a membership (see screenshots) where the terms were not disclosed prior or understood. We got so many emails we had no idea on which email was to confirm how to set up the membership. You can see from the screenshots that there are no explicit membership terms describe and no agreement for us to read with a box to check when they signed us up for.
We were certain that we had made only a single purchase with the option to receive the discount at a later date. We did not know that were signing up for an obligatory nearly $150 purchase per month and nothing on the website or in emails told us in an explicit way. For example, there was no notice saying if you do not cancel, you will be charged $150 for the next month's order. All of the messages had a bunch of veiled language which deterred us from understanding the mandatory nature of this new "membership".
They just sent us a flurry of emails which were deeply confusing and did not clearly explain to us how to activate the membership or cancel it. They just kept sending us emails telling us to "view our box". The emails don't explain that we were obligated to purchase the box or that we would be charged if we didn't reply to "view the box" requests. We had no idea that we needed to urgently "opt out" or be charged nearly $150. There were no explnations of this.
After the "view the box" emails, they created an order based on that membership which we did not create and they only gave us 48 hours to alter which we did not understand because there were so many emails. We had no idea we were obligated to correspond with them.
When we contacted them before the charge went through after trying to collect from our card unsuccessfully several times before the charge actually captured funds intended for another transaction, the agent didn't make any attempt to locate our account. She just said she couldn't find anything. She didn't ask any questions to make sure the charge wasn't going to go through.
We were not given any phone number or provided any additional information for help. We were sent a number to text, but its the same as the email system they use.
After the charge went through after they hit our card 6 times (Wescom sent us a fraud alert which we did not realize it was a new charge), the customer service rep told us it was "too late" because the box had shipped and was unwilling to forward us to a supervisor of any other contact.
We were even willing to return it to the sender, but they dropped it off in our package room without any return or cancellation instructions.

Garbage company. So verification that their wagyu beef is real. Moreover, they shipped items with packaging that is open and refuse to address this.
Product reviews on CrowdCow site are FAKE
Tried to submit a product review and YOU CANT. How do so many products have hundreds of reviews when people can't submit them? Why can't you scroll past the first few "reviews"? BECAUSE THEY'RE FAKE.

Where did this go bad…
Was it when the employee at the street fest inputted my address wrong?
Was it when they didn’t verify the shipping address and send it to an address that doesn’t exist?
Was it the non-response to UPS hub in Chicago several times to fix the address to get delivered?
Was it when they proudly say no phone support but timely SMS support?
Was it using SMS support and getting answers 3 days later?
Was it not responding to emails?
Was it trying to resolve the situation by offering a $25 credit?
Was it not resending the box?
Was it trying to chat to an agent and not getting a response for 18 minutes?
From top to bottom, this was a terrible experience. And after reading the reviews with similar issues and those that did get the order how bad the meat was, I’m done and do not suggest anyone else should waste their money on this.
I mean, who doesn’t have some kind of phone support? I’d take an off shore call center before people not using tech correctly.

Guess i am not into grass fed beef, steaks were very tough [NY Strips] even when cooked to meduim and still red in center,terrible steaks! Costco has better steaks
zero dry ice
There was zero dry ice or anything to keep the meat frozen. The whole lot was thawed out. This is second time I have issues and I will never ever buy from crowd cow again. The meat is too expensive to keep wasting away my money. This has been a awful experience .
Customer experience is not important to this company
I am very disappointed with lack of customer service and the poor quality of packaging at this company. I received my order with bags of dry ice that were not sealed. Dry ice had spilled out of the bags and was stuck to all of my meat packages. My lungs and fingers were burning after cleaning up the mess. When you call the customer service number, you get a recording telling you to email them with any issues. I emailed them but did not receive a response. There are too many other meat delivery companies out there to have to put up with a company that does not care about customer experience and has poor quality control.
Great Meat Terrible Shipping and Lackluster Support
I have purchased from this company at least 8 times and 3 of them were not good experiences. The bad part always has to do with their shipping. Twice my order arrived a day late.... I'm talking like 30 hours. They claim to pack extra dry ice. They do not. My last 2 orders were ruined. The first arrived late and I complained so they offered me a refund. Then 2 weeks later I get an email reminding me to use my available balance... What balance? Well, apparently to them refund means store credit. Fine... I will place another order. This one arrived on time but the box was crushed and there was zero dry ice to be seen anywhere. I asked them for a refund to my credit card this time. I have to wait because they don't take phone calls.

I had some issue with a parcel delayed due to their partner Fedex that did not respect the delivery calendar. Some meat came thawed...Crowd Cow immediately took care of the problem and refunded me. 5***** Customer Service.
They also informed me that they were planning to use soon another circuit to ameliorate their delivery process.
About the meat: huge difference of taste and consistency if compared to the organic or free range meat found in my local stores. So far the meat cooked from their partner farmers is the Best! so tasty and good shape....not filled of water and nitrites...I am planning to buy more on monthly base our meat from this Company.
Sorry to make a bad report
Sorry to make a bad report, but don’t waste your money. I had to toss the tenderloins. Tasted more like liver with gristle. Very bloody.
Problems, but good customer service
I need to say the company did the right thing. The delivery was late, the dry ice was gone and one of the fillets was half fat, and I don't mean the marbling. I complained and they gave me a full credit for my order That's great customer service.

My order was delivered one day late. I received an email that said I should not worry because they pack plenty of dry ice. Not only was all the dry ice gone, almost all of the meat thawed. I have to throw it away. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! Find a local farm and support them.
I am editing my comment to say they told me even if the dry ice is gone and the meat is thawed, it is still safe to eat. They credited my account on my next order, but will not cancel my subscription nor issue a credit. I will not be placing another order.
Poor Shipping Practices
I am a relatively new customer of Crowd Cow.
NOTE: if you have a problem with crowd cow you can not speak with a person at the company…they only e-mail or text.
I have placed two orders and both had problems with shipping. Both orders were shipped via FedEx. My first package arrived in my city and then FedEx said they could not read the label Crowd Cow put on so they sent it to another city…resulting in a delay of delivery. My second order was sent on a Tuesday scheduled to be delivered on Friday. On Friday FedEx informed me that the package had “expired” and they would be returning it to the shipper (Crowd Cow).
I have cancelled my membership with Crowd Cow and am looking for other options.

After reading other reviews I hate to kick CC when they're down. But I will. First issue was partly my fault. I ordered what I thought was wild salmon. The marketing "from the fresh waters of blah blah blah" leads you to think so. But I noticed a small icon in the lower left of the package "sustainably raised". I went back to CC's page and sure enough if you read down the description the salmon is farm raised. But you have to read down or you'll think it's wild. Second issue my bag of scallops arrived with the bag torn and scallops had fallen out. My first attempt at communicating with CC led to a response explaining the how what and why this can happen and reassuring me that the scallops are still safe to eat. HUH??? Fortunately a second communication led to a credit on my next order. On my 3rd (and last) order I was charged shipping because my order was below the what they require for free shipping and that was because 2/3 of my order was out of stock. I was not going to pay $12.99 in shipping for 1 lb of ground lamb. I managed to get my order back up to the free shipping threshold, but it took some maneuvering. The fact that you can't talk to live support made it even trickier. So that was it for me.
From Freezer to garbage
Yes my shipping was bad but I my order was placed in Dallas around the time of a massive winter storms last winter. I figured it was going to take a while.
The quality of this food is just horrible and I am done trying to cook it creatively. The ground meats are way overpriced. I am tossing multiple packs of pre-patted hamburger patties along with some A5 (WT ?) sirloins that defy description in just how curious they taste. The Spatchcock chicken tastes like a goddamn Roadrunner. Just do what I should have done in the first place…go to Costco.
