AVOID AT ALL COST
AVOID AT ALL COST - Pathetic Customer Service and Rude behaviour
I went to collect my approved mini countryman today from the Williams Manchester Mini after receiving a collection confirmation email in the morning. On my arrival I am told that the car is not ready. They were not even willing to provide me with a courtesy car and kept me waiting for more than 2 hours after taking the full deposit (6k).
When I talk to the manager (Daniel) regarding the issue, after waiting for couple of hours, rather than being apologetic and empathetic he was egregious and ill-mannered, and to my surprise he preposterously blamed me for coming late to the dealership for collection (I was late by around 45-50 mins as the trains were cancelled and I was travelling from Huddersfield but I emailed them about that already). Although I didn't know how this justifies them not prepping my car for collection. The way he talked to a customer who paid his deposit and disdainfully waiting to collect his car was really outrageous (maybe he had an issue with my skin colour).
Initially I thought there might be a genuine issue and agreed to get it delivered at my address. But after talking to the manager (Daniel), I was clear and quick on my decision to CANCEL the sales. And as soon as I did that I was asked to leave the premises by the same manager and discuss any grievances outside the building, which I have never seen anywhere else.
Well now when I look back at many reviews for this dealership I feel that I saved myself. If this is their customer service during Sales, I can just imagine how they do Post Sales Service.
Lastly, a free advice from my end for Williams - I feel like this manager needs some training on 'How to talk to a Customer' and basic manners and etiquettes. Not sure if Williams checks these things before recruiting someone in a customer facing sales job.
I wish I could give a NEGATIVE OR ZERO rating for this dealership.

I was trying to resolve the queries I had on buying a car. looking for some more details. The Sales Manager found it hard to understand what I was asking and was not very helpful.
Perfect Experience
I recently purchased an approved used BMW X2 from Williams, Manchester. My sales person was Adam Graham.
From the moment we met Adam I knew I was going to buy a car from him. He was friendly, approachable, knowledgeable and professional. He listened to what we had in mind, really listened and helped us choose the best model for us.
Adam made buying a car an absolute delight. He kept us up to date and informed every step of the way. The hand over was spectacular and made us feel really special. The whole experience was faultless.
Why can’t all dealers be like WILLIAMS BMW, and why can’t all sales persons be like Adam Graham. Excellent!

Bought a new car from this dealership this month.
Must say I’ve bought several from Williams in old Trafford, every single time was a wonderful seamless journey. This is why I keep going back.Professional, pleasant staff, especially Alana.
Thank You Guys you are wonderful and love my car.
Buyers beware
The sales process was exemplary. We believed we had secured a favorable price for the vehicle. Upon delivery, however, we discovered a few defects, mainly the braking system including a malfunctioning sunroof. Our local BMW dealer confirmed these issues and readily rectified them. However, a subsequent inspection revealed significant brake corrosion, worn & scored front discs, corroded rear discsrequiring over £1300 in repairs. Williams' post-sale service was unacceptable, marked by a lack of communication and follow-up. Astonishingly, they attributed the brake damage to stones impacting both sides simultaneously, despite our BMW dealer's assessment that the vehicle should not have been sold in this condition. The overall experience was deeply unsatisfactory. We strongly advise potential customers to carefully consider their purchase from this dealership.
My BMW X6 went in to the BMW dealership…
My BMW X6 went in to the BMW dealership for it's first service. This included a mandatory software update in relation to the Integrated Brake System (IBS).
Several days later, I approached the vehicle to find all side windows half way down. I thought that I may of accidently pressed the key button. I started the vehicle to drive off, and all screens went off. The screens reset into basic mode. This was repeated a few days later. The technician was called out, and after looking at the diagnostics, the vehicle was recovered as it was deemed unsafe to drive. The software updates have randomly affected a number of BMW's and critically the safety systems of the vehicles, such as lane assist, advance crash protection, distance/parking control etc. plus the autohold. Here we are 20+ weeks later. BMW's response; "new software will be rolled out shortly that should resolve the issues"? When I ended up in the middle of on-coming traffic because the autohold had turned itself off again, enough was enough. There is No explanation in writing from BMW customer Services, an uncomfortable secret for them. Buyer be aware. BMW support for these issues is almost none existent.
Getting hold of parts department is like calling Elvis.
Tried to order front brake discs for 2022 R1250 GS. Quite a simple process I thought? I was wrong.
Messaged on Monday (via Website chat with Amanda), called by phone on Tuesday and left message with Carol. Parts department never bothered to call back. Will place my order with Bowker. I wonder if anyone with influence at Williams ever reads these reviews.
Helen Johnson and Chloe Williams
Helen Johnson and Chloe Williams - Perfect service - I needed a loan vehicle to get to and from work - last minute they provided me with one - Great customer service and will only take my vehicle to this garage in Bolton.
Amateurs
Rang four times today , and not just one option on the phone went through all 3 to no avail. Rang again this afternoon finally got an answer guy explained they were very busy ( get more staff ) promised they would ring me back later obviously couldn't be arsed so it's chester that will be getting my business now and in the future and I'm sure williams manchester will come along with a load of bull💩about why, but you get one chane to get these things right sometimes and looking at the reviews they have failed miserabley on numerous occasions.
Rude staff Williams BMW bolton
Suspension broke 4 times on the car my insurance must have paid nearly £5000 and I also paid £535 for full service every time I been there was treated like shit because of my race when I complained BMW head office they say they emailed to John Glenn who is a service manager at Williams BMW he says that the customer is lying we never treated customer badly I urged to see cctv footage but again nothing when a Asian Muslim man has an issue with white lady no one believes but when a white lady reports about a Asian Muslim even parked in there street as a threat five to 8 police cars are there to ask the Asian Muslim man what are you doing in the street if you lost looking for maps look somewhere else you are scaring the neighbourhood why becofbyour skin color but they won't tell this direct to your face simple. I have been Williams first time to get my car diagnosed and when I am adressing the staff who was attending me that I need everything thoroughly checked he tells me why you so worried you not paying for this diagnosed. So I had to address him yes Mr idiot I am paying for this diagnosed because I have paid for the car and the warranty which includes this diagnosis so do your job don't teach me this was my first experience that guy never apologised and after. Few months my suspension went off there is a lady called Mia she would laugh and talk to you basically smiling and telling u to f off but you can't do anything because if you say anything 10 English staff will accumulate there like bees to show that you dare say a word we are here to play the card on you . This is what happened to me and the reason of this long review is friends when I told them I will complaint and right a review they literally laughed on me because they no these reviews won't stop there business .... so let see how strong is TripAdvisor reviews 🙌🙌🙌
The Trafford branch
The Trafford branch - Cowboy showroom and time wasters. Disorganised, unprofessional and then tell lies to cover their incompetence.
No one rings you back when you leave a message. I dealt with 3 different sales agents, its the same story, I mean do they want a sale or not !!!
They dont ring you to let you know the appointment is cancelled and let you turn up and then claim they rang and left you messages, only to then say they rang the wrong customer by mistake.
Also claim a certain sales person rang me, when the day before numerous sales people confirmed that particular person was off over the weekend.......
Either go to a different BMW showroom or go to Audi or Mercedes.

Now on my 5th mini and the staff at Williams were so helpful particularly Wayne who went above and beyond to get me the best deal. Wayne was so knowledgeable and very efficient. It was a great experience from the start with no pressure. Very friendly and would totally recommend to anyone.
Mis Selling of Upgraded Alloy Wheels
I purchased a new BMW IX from Williams Rochdale (WR) and paid in the region of £70,000.
Issue 1 - when I purchased the vehicle, I paid £500 for a BMW protect product to be applied. After collection, due to some plastic still being wrapped around a rear strut on one of the doors, it was identified the product had not been applied.
Whilst I was in the process of planning to get the vehicle back to WR for the BMW Product to be applied, the vehicle started leaking a yellow waxy substance all over my drive (issue 2). I returned the vehicle to WR to be told it had an oil/ coolant leak and could not be driven (this was only approx. 2/3 weeks after I picked it up).
A week or so later I noticed that all 4 Alloy Wheels were turning white from black (issue 3), at this point I was advised the wheels had plastic inserts and had been damaged by the car wash. It's worth noting I upgraded to higher spec wheels, paying over £1200 more for the privilege, never once was I advised the wheels had plastic inserts.... The first I heard of plastic inserts was when I returned to the Service Dept at WR after purchase when the wheels were damaged.
As a reputable car dealer, you have an obligation to inform a consumer if a vehicles wheels include plastic, as this is a material detail that could affect a person’s decision-making, especially regarding durability and potential issues. I was not able to make an informed decision as I was not given the correct information either on the BMW website, or at the point of sale. Had I been made aware of this potential issue I would never have agreed to these wheels and certainly not paid an additional £1200 to upgrade to them.
Most consumers would reasonably expect alloy wheels to be made of metal, WR have knowingly sold plastic insert alloys without disclosing it, which is misleading.
From looking on many Forums this appears to be a regular reoccurring issue with these particular wheels, therefore BMW need to take ownership and provide consumers with the information prior to purchase to allow them to make an informed decision.
I have taken advise from Citizens Advice, they have advised me to escalate the compliant to BMW Financial Services, and should I not be satisfied with the response, to escalate the complaint to the Financial Ombudsman.
Citizens Advice reiterated my rights under the Consumer Protection Act 2015, meaning that goods should be fit for their intended purpose. And further confirmed that a business breaks the law if it fails to give consumers the information, they need to make an informed decision, causing them to make a different decision. This is known as a misleading omission.
Well done Wayne/Williams Liverpool
We collected our Mini Cooper S from Williams Liverpool yesterday and are really happy so far. Wayne was our contact when we visited 2 weeks ago to test drive it. He's a really friendly, informative salesman and made us feel very welcome. The overall experience of buying our car was excellent. Its never just about buying the car, it's about the franchise, the expertise of the team, in this case Wayne and the high level of customer care. 5 stars all round. Havung purchased Mini Coopers several times previously, this was by far the best experience. Thanks
Great support from Niomi Witter

Terrible experience with my first bmw & not much better at bmw williams stockport. My car got took in for a recurring problem yet never checked out the problem. They led me to believe it would get checked. Told me my coil pack & spark plugs wasn't genuine bmw parts, yet bmw do not do bmw sparks & coils so obviously just wanted me to waste and rinse my money. Told me all things what was up with my car apart from the actual problem. Manged to miss a very serious problem when I have had engine or electrical problems. Missed my water pump & pully not working correctly then tried to over charge me. Absolute waste of time. Put off bmw for the foreseeable
Williams BMW Bolton.
Williams BMW Bolton.
1- The gave an online valuation for our Mercedes , immaculate car with FSH @ £6250 (Sytner offered £6500 Firm).
2- I then got an inept Salesman who I asked for a personalised video and if sat Nav was fitted ( never got a response on either) was told its in prep and video would follow, later that day was offered £5600 for the Merc told him no way after Sytner and Thier online valuations.
3- He then came back with £5820 (. £20 ??).
4- He then went off on leave for Two days ( why pick up a lead if going off ?)
5- I said maybe we could do a deal but wanted a video ( I'm 130 miles away) he said still in prep but would send, on checking their site first thing the car had disappeared, I waited to see what was happening till lunchtime without contact to ask what was going on, he came back with Car not for sale not up to standard ( this is a 40,000 mile BMW with FSH, doesn't say much for the car or the servicing does it) I asked why it had taken Five Days to come up with this ' no response' I asked how he could negotiate a deal on a vehicle not fit for retail 'no answer' I asked how can you list a car for sale that's not fit for sale, you've guessed it ' no answer' Five Days dealing with this Company for nothing. I asked for the sales manager to contact, and Owen Duncan ( who is mentioned in other feedback) and it's explains the attitude, his condescending attitude and failure to grasp his Salesman's incompetence to work is in a business like manner, and offers no apology for wasting Five Days of my time because of his failings, he is simply one who avoids the issue.
Five Days wasted, personally I wouldn't pay Duncan or his Salesman in Toffees.
My advice, don't believe the online valuations, don't deal with this Company, if you must have a BMW, use Lovatt or Sytner etc not this lot
Williams Rochdale poor customer service
Williams Rochdale - poor customer service. I am looking to get a company lease car so wanted to go to my local BMW dealer (who I have previously bought and serviced my car through) to check out the spec and colours before ordering.
A quick call to the sales team by the receptionist (who told them ‘I have a lady not getting a car from here’..) who came back with ‘we have no stock of that’. I did see the relevant model in the show room it was just the non electric version. They were obviously uninterested as I was not ordering it from them. Really poor. I have been to two desperate Lexus showrooms to see cars and received outstanding customer service regardless of the fact I would not be ordering from them. Says a lot. Thanks for nothing Williams ..
My son recently bought a nearly new BMW…
My son recently bought a nearly new BMW 1 Series from Williams Manchester.
The whole experience has been a nightmare. I went with him to provide a little support, as this is only his 2nd car purchase.
On arrival at the showroom, we were left waiting for 25 minutes, before we were seen. The salesman was obviously new to the job and needed to cover off everything with his manager, before giving us information on trade in values etc.
He decided to buy the car and returned the following day to complete the purchase. All the paperwork was completed, including credit application. It was then agreed he could pick the car up a few days later.
When he went to pick up the car, he had to wait for over 2 hours, as they hadn't completed the credit application.
To add insult to injury, it now appears they have put the car in my name on their system and failed to repay my son's finance with his previous car.
So he now has 2 loans in place and all correspondence for his car, is coming to me. So as well as extremely poor and unprofessional service, Williams have breached GDPR rules.
I have bought three cars from Williams and now both of my sons have bought cars from them. I am pretty sure that this will be the last purchase from Williams and I would strongly recommend avoiding this garage.
