Don’t buy from them!…
On the few occasions when the food arrived still frozen and on the day the delivery email stated it would arrive, it was marvelous. My food has been delivered to a different apartment and once came 30 days late. I’ve paid for that order to prepare for expected guests and still had to buy food at the store when my delivery didn’t arrive on time.
The last delivery was the last straw. The box was 4 days late, meaning I cut my vacation short to make sure I could bring it inside 3-4 hours after it arrived. It’s supposed to have enough dry ice to keep it for 3 days. All the meat was warm and dripping blood. The box ah dried and liquid blood pooled in the corners.
They refunded the order but offered nothing for my inconvenience.

Products were fine a year or two ago, but the last few boxes have had multiple rancid products in them. The packaging on a number of steaks and fish have been obviously punctured prior to packing, leaving rancid meat and blood leaking all over my fridge during de-thaw. Sources of the products are inconsistent and change frequently. Absolutely avoid Crowd Cow, and I'd urge caution when dealing with any vendor that uses them as of Dec 2022.

I have read the reviews on this website which are completely opposite to mine. Crowd cow not only provided the best customer service but also the best quality of meat.
It was my first time ordering on the website and I ordered x2 8 oz Japanese A5 Wagyu Ribeye Ends. The package was delivered on the date it was listed. The package had no leakage and the wagyu was very much still frozen. However, they did forget the other piece.
I contacted their customer service and got an answer almost instantly. They did not sound like a bot in my experience and handled the mishap immediately. They apologized and sent the missing piece without charge.
I will be ordering more and would read the reviews posted here with a grain of salt.
First we get expired meat, then no dates at all. What’s the deal crowd cow?
We have ordered 2 rounds of crowd cow deliveries. The first round, some of the packaging was no longer air tight and leaked while defrosting, so there must have been a hole. Crowd cow explained that occasionally happens in shipping and not to worry. Then we start looking at the expiration dates. Three items were more than 3 months expired. Crowd cow says that it was frozen and is fine although meat quality does begin to worsen…in the second shipment, none of the meat had any dates at all. Strange. on top of all of that, the meat just doesn’t taste good. Rib-eye was chewy and even slightly sour. What’s the actual deal, crowd cow?

No customer service just bots
I have ordered from crowd cow for several months. They used to just order from previous order until this month they made up an order and said in packaging. When I emailed (there is no phone customer service) I got bot response from Faith. After several emails they quit responding. They did not answer questions. Will not order from them again. Horrible customer service!!!!
Had some issues with the referral…
Had some issues with the referral program but Faith in customer service made it right. Product packaged very well with lots of ice to keep items frozen. Will order from again. I hope this influences your shopping decisions.
Half thawed meet delivered to your door but it's OK
I've been a subscriber for several years I've enjoyed this up to 4 months ago when their service took a dive, half frozen meat thawed because not enough dry ice, now this month shipping with NO dry ice, half thawed chicken and their customer service response was to send me a fda link telling how the meat is safe to eat!!! Unbelievable especially when I spend several hundred dollars a month Wyeth my orders. If you like half thawed chicken seafood and beef and want to spend a lot for that Crowdcow is your dysfunctional company. I'll never buy anything from them again
One-time, Wagyu purchase was so yummy
Ordered a 16oz A5 Wagyu Ribeye Steak - Miyazaki Gyu Farm for $230 last Christmas for my husband. He’s tried American Wagyu but wanted to try authentic Japanese Wagyu. It arrived on time in a cardboard box with dry ice that kept it extremely cold. It tasted exceptionally fatty but isn’t that what Wagyu is known for? We were both happy with it

How the mighty have fallen! I've enjoyed buying my meats from Crowd Cow in the past. They do have delicious meats. That said, their customer service is horrible. Back in August my order arrived thawed and discolored. I wrote to Crowd Cow's customer support. They told me that I would be getting a refund within 5-10 business days. After ten days of waiting, I reached out again only to be told that the refund is processing and I should expect to see it soon. Well, it's now September 24, a month after my order and I still have not received a refund. Terrible. Terrible. Terrible.
Don't subscribe to their membership
I really recommend you don't subscribe to their membership.
Today (Wed Sept. 7 2022) I received an email congratulating me that my order has shipped! What order? I didn't place any order. They cancelled an order I was expecting back in August, then without telling me, sent it today. Except it wasn't even my original order, they swapped out the 4 steaks I wanted with 4 I don't want. And, they sent it to my old address, miles and miles away from where I live now.
I emailed support. I was told that this is my fault, because they "sent me a confirmation email". They were referencing an email they sent IN JULY. So, effectively giving me the finger.
I've unsubscribed to Crowd Cow. I enjoyed their steaks before, but I don't intend to return as a customer. I hope this influences your shopping decisions.
Stay away from Crowd Cow
I’ve ordered different meats & seafoods from all over the world.
Usually your order arrives in a foam container packed with dry ice.
Not with Crowd Cow.
Order arrived and it was in a cardboard box… the box was water damaged and the dry ice was nearly melted away (literally the only piece left was a 2x2 chunk).
The nearly $350 order was also mostly thawed and the plastic vacuum packages had puncture holes causing them to leak.
We ended up throwing the entire order away.
The argument could be made that UPS is to blame… However, when your business is sending highly perishable product around the world… you should protect it with more than cardboard, dry ice & butcher paper.
Crowd Cow not worth the headache
I have been purchasing from Crowd Cow for a few months now, at first, it was great, the order arrived on time, based on my selected date, but now it's a luck of the draw. Their customer service team has become horrible. They ship their items out in a box, how is the dry ice supposed to last 6 days enroute? Stay away from them, it's only going to get worse.
Crowd Cow...Extremely Poor Customer Service
I recently placed my first order with Crowd Cow for $256 worth of meat. Order was placed on 7/31/2022 and it is now 8/16/2022 and I have never received my order. My UPS account indicated there was a train derailment during delivery and that that it was later (on 8/08/2022) discovered that the package was damaged (no kidding...rancid, thawed meat) and that they had discarded the package and the sender would be notified. Although I realize Crowd Cow may not be in control of shipping issues, I have sent numerous emails to Crowd Cow customer service with absolutely no response. This is extremely poor customer service and one would expect much better when purchasing $250 worth of product. Now to see if I can ever get my money back when it seems Crowd Cow prefers to ignore my emails.
Company is completely untrustworthy
Company is completely untrustworthy at this point. They pushed back my order that was supposed to be delivered three weeks ago. Then the following week the take the money out of my account and I was supposed to get my box two days later. Got pushed back again. Box is supposed to be here this Friday now. They pushed it again until next Friday now. Zero responses from them through email, text and Instagram. Scammers. Stealers. Take your hard earned money elsewhere. Total thieves.

My totally different experience
I read these endless reviews about this company but my experience is nothing close!
I have ordered Kurobuta bone in pork chops from True Story foods on CrowdCow for months now. The quality is undeniable, from the packaging to the beautifully marbled pork. Tender and delicious.
I have also ordered steaks, chicken, salmon and scallops and various other seafood and meats but the fact you can order real, authentic, verified Wagyu from Japan and Kobe steaks first attracted me. It is the real deal and pretty incredible if you want to give it a try.
Any time I have had an issue I contacted them through the chat on their site and it was resolved within minutes.
The food usually comes hard frozen. I have had no issues with freezer burn but I use a chest freezer which is much gentler than the standard freezer most have in their kitchen that has a defrost cycle auto defrost will cause freezer burn so you should limit time you store items in such a type of freezer to only a couple months. No amount of packaging will make much of a difference
Pros:
- A wide selection with some high end items that are difficult to get elsewhere
- Easy membership, can skip or set orders into the future
- Good customer service
- High quality produce
- You get background on the supplier you are ordering from
- Notifications in time to change or delay an order
Cons:
- It can be pricey for some items when you compare to local grocery stores, especially if you have time to shop around
In conclusion, either I have been weirdly lucky in my dealings with CrowdCow, these reviews are the vocal minority or a lot of haters. I don’t have any financial interest in them or any of the others I mentioned.
Somethings are good
Somethings are good, others less so. Overall, been buying for about a year. Love the Char. Can't get it at the grocery store and it tastes great. The wagyu roast is also really good. Otherwise, the steaks are not so great. The NY steaks have been tough and griselly. The tri-tip is the same, just kind of small and tough. I get better meat from Costco. I tried to reach out on one order of NYs because half the meat wasn't edible. Overall, the fish is good, pork is good, beef is not great. I'm cancelling right after I get a big order of fish this month.
