Extremely happy with the service from Suzy, my leather bag was repaired, cleaned and some extra eyelets added to shorten a strap, and is as good as new! Prompt responses to my queries, very responsive throughout. Thoroughly recommended!

I am delighted with the outcome of my first booking with the Seam. 4 items which had been hanging up in the wardrobe, trousers that needed waist and length adjustments, a dress and a shirt that needed shaping. This is my second time using The Seam and it was as good as the first. My Maker, Camila, made a great job of repairing a fine wool jumper for me. She was really helpful in choosing the type of repair to do and the finished product will give me years more use out of the jumper. I'd thoroughly recommend the service. Thank you!

The whole process was seamless, from contacted the seam and being put in touch with Suzy. I would highly recommend both Suzy & The Seam.

I would highly recommend The Seam… I have a crochet tank top that I love, had some holes and a frayed seam. I sent some photos, paid the fee plus postage and was assigned Camila Fortune. She did an amazing job repairing it. It’s not cheap, but neither would have buying a new top been, she’s clearly very skilled at what she does.

I have just had my beloved, old Louis Vuitton hold-all delivered back to me, and I am overwhelmed..!
The heat bonded rubberised zip had bust, and the reinforced leather tabs on each end of the zip had worn and looked scruffy.
The zip is exactly the same, heat bonded back on securely and looks great, the tabs have been replaced with new ones, it looks like Suzy has even given her a bit of a clean, to top it of, I little note attached explaining what work had been carried out and why, also asking if I’m happy, sealed with a “X”..!

The cost was even less than the original quote and reasonable.

So, I’d rate the service 10/10, Suzy’s work is great, second to none, I’m lucky to have stumbled across her/the Seam on the internet.

So delighted with the beautiful hand embroidery to repair a moth hole on the front of a much-loved jumper. The jumper is even nicer now than when it was new! Thank you, Maker Camilla, for such a skilled and friendly service.

Paola did a beautiful job on repairing my mums leather satchel. It was an expensive service for an unbranded product, but no one else had the skills or tools so I am incredibly grateful that the Seam’s community of artisans exists. Paola’s work was very high standard, she communicated well throughout and returned the bag safely and very quickly.

First time using The Seam. Sandra D replaced the cuffs on a much loved sweatshirt. She did the work swiftly and they look great. Excellent communication throughout. Will definitely use The Seam and Sandra D again.

I had my grandmother’s vintage beaded purse restored by Elodie G. She was absolutely fantastic and kept me updated throughout the whole process. It took longer than originally stated because she was very careful about searching for vintage beads that were true to the bag’s original style. Thank you so much I’m so pleased with the outcome of the purse and this is now something I can use and hopefully pass on in future generations.

Tessa restored my wife’s very well worn Prada bag to look just like new. She showed me some examples of her work, and was able to completely remove the stains and scuffing on the corners of the bag. I would recommend Tessa and The Seam for any handbag repairs.

I've had multiple items repaired and altered by the Seam, and have been very happy every time! In particular thank you Ji K and Seamus M for their work on an overshirt and a pair of broken sunglasses 😎

I had a pair of jeans which had ripped and I heard about The Seam from a friend. I was matched with Maker Louise, who talked me through the process and provided me with an excellent quality of repair. Jeans came back looking brand new!

I can leave a fair assessment of The Seam having used the service to recondition five pieces of clothing/shoes and spending over £600 on repairs. My experience was good for the first four items. The services aren’t cheap and this is because The Seam is a market place which connects you with makers and charges a 20% fee which is passed onto the customer.
The problem came when I had an issue with a maker in St Albans, Annalisa Monti. My partner needed the zip on an Antony Morato jacket repaired or replaced. Initially Annalisa took the jacket to assess and told me the zip was broken and it would need a new zip. She then told me the zips were custom and could not find zips to replace it, but she had managed to fix it. My partner and I went to collect the jacket. When we collected the jacket, we discovered Annalisa had not repaired the jacket, as soon as we tried the zip the jacket it moved out of alignment and stuck. We were left confused about what we had paid for. We should have taken the jacket and left, but wanted to have it fixed and asked if she could source similar zips and replace the front zip and match the pocket zips. Annalisa said she could and then sent photos later of a like for like zip which we agreed to use. Weeks later I received a message saying work was done with an image of the jacket repaired and with new zips that were cheap bronze and not a matt grey like for like zip that she had sent in a photo.
When I contacted The Seam, I received a disappointing waffly email back that sat on the fence and stated the Maker had poor communication.
In fact, the Maker had: -
1 – Initially lied about repairing the jacket
2 – Disregarded the zips we approved and put a different zip on.
To add insult to injury this whole process of dropping my partners jacket into Annalisa and to picking it up took 1.5 months and nearly 2 weeks to receive my refund.
I would say providing there are no issues this service works, I am not clear how much vetting goes into the Makers on the site as The Seam grows. I had asked that question and had not received an answer.
My advice is do your research yourself and go direct to a seamstress/cobbler, you will save 20% and if there are any issues you can deal directly with the person looking after your repair.
