Sustain installed solar panels and an air source heat pump for me. As this was a retrofit on a 1950’s house I was obviously very concerned this should be done right and deliver the heating required. Sustain made several pre work visits to make sure the location of the pump and pipe / cable runs were right. The solar panel and battery works were very quick and caused very little disturbance. The system is working very effectively. The air source heat pump was a couple of months later and took a little under 2 weeks as it spanned the easter weekend. The installation team communicated with me throughout the installation saying what they were doing and why and showing how I could control the system myself. Again there was very little noticeable disruption given it was a retrofit. As the installation was completed mid April I haven’t been able to test the heating capability thoroughly yet but for the 4 weeks it was used it kept all of the house at an even acceptable temperature. Sustain always respond promptly to enquiries, from beginning to end and I am confident that if I have any issues moving into winter they will be there again to help and advise. Very good company instilling a lot of confidence in their work.

The whole business from enquiry to installation took more than six months, partly because we did not want the work done in the middle of winter! The work took longer than expected, as it included two weekends and two bank holidays. However, Sustain did an excellent job in a very old house; preliminaries were carried out efficiently and the work was done with all snags overcome, so we were pleasantly surprised at the small amount of visible evidence of the changes. The men (all men!) were courteous and helpful and we enjoyed meeting them. We felt somewhat anxious beforehand about the possible amount of disruption, but our worries proved groundless. Now we just have to wait for next winter to find out if the system keeps us warm enough!

I have just had solar panels installed by Sustain Heating, and can thoroughly recommend them. The panels look good on my roof and generate the energy expected from their predictions. From the first visit by their representative to discuss my requirements and develop outline plans through to the final installation and commissioning, their team have provided excellent service, responding quickly to queries and provided friendly, helpful advice.

I would definitely recommend Sustain Heating and Renewables. They have recently installed a solar PV system to our property and have been very professional throughout. When there was a problem with the inverter post installation, it was dealt with quickly and the issue has now been resolved with a new inverter fitted under warranty.

It was just 6 weeks from requesting a quotation until the solar PV system was commissioned and providing me with power, including heating my water.

My neighbour obtained the original design from Sustain Heating & Renewables and I chose the same specification, both systems being installed at the same time whilst our scaffolding was up.

I am very pleased with the system and am able to monitor activity from an app on my phone.

There were some challenges, mainly relating to the construction of the semi detached roof and dormer windows, identified during installation of the panels by Scott and Callum.
Tony and Daniel came out and a revised panel design was agree with both my neighbour and me which actually increased the capacity and is aesthetically pleasing.

There was a slight delay in getting the panels connected to the grid due partly to the lead time for the inverter and staff availability.
Lucas, the electrician, did a very professional job and made sure all the electrical components conformed to the latest regulations and generation began.
There was also a slight delay in getting the welcome pack with the DNO approval and MCS certificate that would allow application for outgoing generation.

Although it took a while to get the system installed when it was it was all done quickly and efficiently. The installation team were all friendly and polite and did a good job.

Fantastic service -- had a mystery issue with a fairly new air source heat pump. Came out to repair in only a few hours and very quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem. Better yet, he showed me how to fix it myself in future! Personable, friendly, and full of expertise.

We have had black solar panels with individual inverters, battery storage & an air source heat pump installed by sustain.

From the initial enquiry to completion we have received excellent service.

The removal of an oil powered boiler & hot water tank was required as well as the replacement of several radiators.

A detailed quotation & plans of work to carried out for each installation was sent so there were no hidden costs. All grants, permissions & certificates were carried out by Sustain so we didn't have to worry about a thing.

All of the trades are employed by Sustain, they arrived promptly on the day we were told & everyone were always friendly and polite. Great care was taken to avoid as much disruption as possible & any packaging or waste was removed daily.

Any questions were answered swiftly either by e mail or a phone call. We actually had one of the panels stop working, Dan phoned to inform me of this & his team arrived within the hour to replace the inverter (due to having individual inverters I have an app on my phone so I & sustain could monitor them on a daily basis)

I am pleased to write a positive review for Sustain Heating, investing quite a lot of money on a system I was fairly unfamiliar with was a bit nerve wracking. My worries turned out to be completely unfounded, Sustain Heating completed the installation with the following positive and no negative points.
There were no hidden costs, the price quoted was the price paid.
The work was carried out on the promised schedule with small amendments closer to the time but with full upfront communication and agreement.
Panel changes due to global demand and delivery issues from the original quote were notified upfront and the Longhi panels finally purchased with the order are by no means substandard from the original proposal.
The workmen, scaffolders and electricians (Fully MCS qualified) were all very courteous and extremely helpful in explaining the purpose and use of each item of equipment.
The support from the Sustain office was pretty much immediately available. Queries from their on-site staff and myself were answered very promptly.
All administration paperwork for permissions for National Grid access and MCS certification etc. was all completely handled by Sustain Heating
In summary, I would not hesitate to recommend Sustain Heating to anyone considering a solar PV panel installation.

When our old oil boiler expired we needed to accelerate our plans for an ASHP install. I had 3 quotes in hand, but decided on Sustain as during the pre-sales process Geri had raised my confidence that they would do a great job, and quickly. There are quite a few steps to an ASHP install, and the Sustain office team worked diligently and rapidly to sort the paperwork and line everything up. Tony (the boss) then arranged for their overspill subcontractor plumbers (from Leeds!) to do our install & they were great - the guys worked super hard replacing rads etc, and kept everything tidy as they went. Lucas, Dan and Neil then got the new system wired up and promptly commissioned. We're now enjoying a warm house 24/7 :-). I'm confident that the post-install service will also be great, as from my experience so far Sustain seem to really care about their customers. The one small area where Sustain acknowledge they can improve further is on the more technical aspects of ASHP programming and control (e.g. via online Apps) - this is not a major problem however, as the wholesaler they use (Freedom Heat Pumps) has YouTube videos covering that side of things. Overall very happy indeed with the service, so much so that I've decided to also give Sustain our next project to install PV panels + a house battery. Many thanks to Tony and all the team at Sustain.

My wife and I found Sustain from Which magazine and read all the reviews there before deciding to buy the Solar Panels and system from Sustain Heating & Renewables through Trustpilot.
The team are simply just amazing -nothing is too much trouble and the installers were incredibly efficient. From the initial consultation to the commissioning was flawless.
We purchased not only panels but also a battery and very pleased we did.
Finally what was really encouraging is the aftercare with the team keeping close to their customers and providing a good safety net should there be questions or matters that needed their assistance.

Sustain were truly great. Their service was fantastic, the work team were super friendly and helpful at every turn. Our Air Source Heat Pump was fitted quickly and the work men left our basement clean and tidy.

The installation was neat and looks great, i have 6 KWH on my roof and two 5 KWH batteries on the outside wall beside my meter box.
The electricians were great as were the roofers. What i think is particularly important is post installation support when you are grappling with the new technology. Both and both Tony and Daniel are genuinely on the end of the phone to make sure that you get what you paid for and optimise your investment!!

Sustain installed all black solar panels split between east and west facing elevations plus a three phase FusionSolar home battery system with backup function for power outages or cuts that covers all the house sockets and lights, excluding tumble dryer,washing machine and oven. The installation is really neat. I have had neighbours from my estate that I dont know knock on the door to find out more attracted by the way the panels are installed/look. They also are impressed by the slim profile battery system which is mounted on an external wall alongside the meter boxes. The installation was really quick and guys worked really hard. The scaffolding was installed just before installation and taken down a few days later. A very smooth operation. Now we are into September with cloudy skies I am really impressed with how well the system works and I am expecting it to make a big difference to my energy costs and my carbon footprint as I also have an ASHP. I approached other Which trusted traders and they were not as responsive as Sustain and the ones that did respond were not as technically aware as Sustain in their proposals. We are very pleased to get this system in. Throughout the team were very responsive and helpful on a few teething problems or lack of understanding by me.

We replaced our storage heaters with an air source heat pump and solar panels. This involved a huge amount of work as we needed a complete wet system in the house for the heat pump.

I can't praise the team at Sustain highly enough. They are all so friendly and helpful and always ready to answer any questions. The products are also great and are already saving us a huge amount of money. The Environment in the house with the cold weather is also so much better.

We contacted Sustain with a view to installing some solar panels. Right from the first contact everything was superb. Karen, the sales person, was friendly, knowledgable and not at all pushy.

I visited their new office and met some other of their staff and finally placed an order. It took about a monthe for them to come and install (yes they are busy) and I have to say their installation teams were great, very friendly and polite all the way. The panels were installed in one day, the next day Will arrived to do the electrics, followed by Daniel to do the commisioning. Lucas came and installed our Eddi two days later (we were out) and it all works really well.

I wish we had done this sooner and found this company to do it!

We have nothing but praise for this company. We used Sustain Heating & Renewables to provide us with solar panels and a battery, and to replace our old gas boiler central heating with a heat pump, so it was a really big job. All of our 50-year old radiators needed replacing anyway, and our house is partly over 200 years old and partly 50 years old.
Sustain came up with a good, clear and detailed proposal, and answered all our questions about it. They carried out the work swiftly and neatly, to a very high standard and with remarkably little disruption or damage to our house. They applied themselves diligently and urgently to solving any unforeseen difficulties that arose during the installation, and were immediately responsive and effective in dealing with the last few teething troubles after the installation was completed. All of their workmen were a pleasure to have around. We first contacted Sustain in May, and we had our new system up and running and our house lovely and warm by the end of October. Contrary to the widespread scepticism about retrofit heat pump systems, everything that Sustain promised us, turned out to be true!
