We had windows from. Penicuik put in last year, they were great and so. Was the service. The ones we put in this year were also great. The service, however wasn't. The work men left a mess and their excuse was that they didn't have a vaccume. They left nails and a mess outside the front door and on the road. I then brought up that the cat flap wasn't what we asked for, it was too small their reply was that I should lay off the cat food. I then kept back 500 pounds till the problem was resolved and the man that phoned me to arrange the replacement was rude when I couldn't agree on the next day for them to come iin and was quite apparent on the fact that '500 pounds was quite alot of money for a cat flap and they want to get it done soon.' To be honest, the service really put me off recommending, despite the produce being good.

So, just had Penicuik come to give a "free quote" for Windows and doors replacement. After doing his wee pitch, we advised him we're going to pass as it's not realistic at the moment (code for f*** off I'm no paying that).

When he called his manager, Martin for permission to leave (another red flag), his manager asked to speak to me to try and change my mind. He then proceeded to argue with me over the phone when I challenged their 95% acceptance rate for finance and I highlighted they must have a high interest rate to compensate.

That's when he hit out with the "With all due respect sir...". Stating that I was wrong and it's only 1.52% per month of the balance remaining. (If you're not sure what that means, you pay a high amount of interest initially then it reduces with the balance). I said I understood what that meant and he interrupted me again to say I didn't know what I was talking about so I told him I was not going to be spoken to that way and ordered him to remove his salesperson from the property.

Avoid these a***holes wherever possible people.

These crooks are yet to contact me to discuss my complaint raised here and on their website. If I haven't heard from them by Friday I will contact Watchdog.

The overall experience was very good from the initial contact to the final fitting.
The salesman was very thorough when he was explaining the product and the paperwork was completed very quickly.
The fitter arrived in plenty of time and the job was finished off to a high standard. There was a small problem at the end - the door knocker was the wrong size and the replacement has still to be put on although that will be remedied shortly.

Well u can always be a bit wary about having companies in ur home and trying to bully u into a sale but not with Scott he was so helpful and down to earth like having ur pal there for a coffee and nothing was too much bother for him to get us the best possible price.

Not to the messy part getting the windows installed which we all now a team of guys in ur house making a mess but no was completely wrong Stevie and Gordon (team 6) right off the bat they came with new covers to put down all over the house and helped moved the bigger furniture out the way and covered furniture too which they done with no problem at all. We have 2 young children and they were amazing with them giving them time of day to say hello and have fun with them but was payment for all the coffee and biscuits lol. The guys were here for 2 days and completed 8 windows and a new door and what amazing job they done and once they finished they cleaned up every bit of the mess as if they were never there.

It’s has been that good and experience we are actually ordered a new front door now as we know what a great service we had last time.

Thanks very much for a superb installation of the five windows today. The new windows look really good from either inside or out. The upstairs windows have transformed the look of the house and am really pleased. From what I can tell the inside of the house is now a lot quieter and hoping warmer in the long run.

The guys that came to install the windows were really nice, chatty and polite and were really skilled with a great finish.

A genuine shambles of an organisation. Got initial quote, with promises of the work to be done for xmas. They finally showed up to start the work on January 7th, dug up a bit of my patio, then they tried to charge me another £2000 for extra work they did not know about. The builder pointed out on the drawings the "new" thing that Penicuik were talking about. It was on the drawings from the initial quote. I told them I was not paying the money, and they said they would put my garden back to the way it was. This has still not happened and they have left it like a building site. I was also promised a goodwill gesture, because they did not do the work on time, and I am still waiting for that. Avoid at all costs, they will say anything to get a sale, then the customer service was appalling.

To update on Pencuik's answer, sean the install manager emailed, 2 weeks later and offered different colour slabs, to fill the space they dug up (I would have a two tone garden patio) and offered nothing for the turf they destroyed by leaving the remnants of the patio on it. They also said they would fix it when it suits them. None of this was acceptable, as it was a cowboy fix to problems they created themselves. Avoid them at all costs.

Donald, the installer and his assistant Craig fitted our new bedroom window. The day was very cold and frosty yet they did an A1 job and left the area clean and tidy with minimal fuss.
The product is very good quality and we have noticed a huge difference in room temperature, especially on really cold days/nights.

Delighted with our new double glazing windows and front door. Fitted over the weekend and already seeing a difference to heating and no more draughts. Excellent work done by fitters who done the job quicker than expected and left no mess, with no need to redecorate round windows. First class service. Would highly recommend.

Whole experience was a pleasure from start to finish and will definitely use them again.

Fitting carried out by ClearWin Ltd, professional from start to finish. A quick view of what work was to be done. Protective covering laid in all areas. Old widows removed with all mess cleared up inside and out. New widows fitted and again all mess cleaned up. Inspection of work done, followed a tutorial on how to use and maintain widows. Job well done and everyone happy.

Andy and Tommy installed my new windows today, they were polite, quiet, efficient and cleaned up after themselfs.
The rosewood inside and out uPVC windows look great, the once that are supposed to open well and they seem to be way more efficient than what I had before.The rest of the winter wil tell if that is true.

The fitters Donald and Craig were amazing, friendly and very professional, even helped me move my sofa in through the window.

Only issue I have with the process is after I paid the deposit in October I received no word at all from the company, I phoned up twice in December and the second time I was told they'd tried to contact me but the contact number didn't work (no signal). But rather than use the other contact number or E-mail address I provided it seems they just abandoned it until I complained.

The windows do look great though and I'm overall very happy with the service.

The installers Colin and Kyle were very efficient and worked from when they arrived until they left each day. The finish was very good and I am very pleased with the windows. Was is lacking is follow up support. During the install the it was recorded that one of the hinges was faulty and would require replacement with a new one despite chasing the office several times now I am still waiting for this to be rectified. My neighbour had a fault with one of his windows and a door and both have been fixed promptly. Since it is the Xmas holiday period now I am giving them the benefit of the doubt and still leaving 5 stars.

Kenny and Muir were great over the two day installation of the windows and doors, especially in freezing conditions that they had to work in. Very happy with the fitting and finish.

I am delighted with my new door and side panel. Only grumble is the wedge of grey silicone down the side of the dark green panel. No one ever mentioned 'silicone' and colours.
Craig, who fitted the door, was extremely pleasant, thoughtful, clean and tidy and dealt cheerfully with what I think was not a straightforward installation.
I was apprehensive about what was a quite radical change to,our front door, and did feel it was expensive, but I really am extremely pleased with it. Initial selling techniques are what lets the operation down!
