would have been 5 stars if only they had followed up the after care a bit sooner than they did as i had to make a 2nd phone call .

Excellent service. Fitters great, friendly and never stopped from the minute they arrived. Cleared up all the mess and took everything away. 10/10. Our fitters were Daniel and Dave.

Sales man that visited was fine and explained everything clearly. On installation of windows the amount of mess was unbelievable. I have had to redecorate and get my carpets cleaned as they were so badly damaged. Three months later and I am still chasing up this complaint!

We had the usual salesman rubbish but we not given any choice in the windows we ordered. When we asked about Georgian bars we were told they block out the light! next the manager came out to see us. He sat at our table and every time we tried to speak he answered his mobile. He didn't even apologise for taking the calls. He definitely didn't listen to us and said HE could do anything. It turned out he couldn't as we could not have a composite door. Next we waited and waited for the windows which eventually arrived. The fitter came and he was superb. The problem was the surveyor had measured every window incorrect so not one fitted. The fitter carried on in hail, snow and raid to get the windows in. Then we found that one window had the wrong opening. This was duly replaced but the new window has a scratch on the inside. The new door that was fitted is now falling apart! To top it all the cement that was knocked out around the windows still hasn't been replaced. We were told that they would come immediately and get this sorted. Well here we are a few months later and still the cement hasn't been replaced. There are flaming great holes around the windows. To top all this off we keep calling and being promised they will call us back however it never happens. Mind you sales constantly ring to say we have a £500 discount voucher sitting on our account. I wish I had used a local reliable company. The experience has been horrendous and there is still no end in sight

Although we were told the work wouldn't be done before Christmas we were delighted that it was carried out early and all finished two weeks before Christmas. We were very happy with the speed of the installation and the fitters cleaned up afterwards The only problem we found was that not all the windows were properly sealed On the plus side we had someone come back and finish the job when we complained
Further to the previous comment I have two further comments I have just had my window cleaner clean the windows and he has complained about the amount of silicone left on the windows. The second point is that I was given a leaflet stating I would be e-mailed a £10 Amazon voucher when I gave a review This hasn't happened

guy came out, full of the usual seller patter, started off at 14 grand for 6 windows, oh yes ignore that yadda yadda, finally just over 8 grand. Went ahead, fitters came out, they were fine, courteous, and tidy and loved a roll n sausage or bacon !!, no worries. the after sales were just garbage. someone called Nicola on the phone was just ignorant, talked to my wife like dirt and accused us of lying when she mentioned things we should have been told, but were not and she said we were basically lying. The constant barrage of wanting payment, we withheld £1000 because one window was broken and the frame had a large screw sticking up through the ledge my wife caught her hand on. The saleman said oh yes you dont pay a penny till you are satisfied and there will be no after decorating needed at all. our plaster was broken in the kitchen, was plastered but WE have to redecorate. Payment was wanted from the fitters at job end, told them no. got repairs done after a week or so, then we paid. i fear anything happening as with other reviews on here, they are not famous for even being interested.

The fitters were excellent, very polite and hard working. 10 out of 10 for effort and quality.

Penicuik? Penicrook! Absolute shambles of a company. Apauling service. I have never known anything like it.
We placed an order, and were assured of a delivery timescale, which has not been met. Multiple contacts have been attempted and the responses are either copy and paste jobs of terms and conditions, or they are ignored altogether. Numerous calls and emails to a manager in cancellations have been fruitless. All they keep saying is we were out of our cancellation window, so their legal team will chase us for 80 per cent of the cost of the item if we cancel, despite ALL their multiple failures. Threatening us with legal action, eith no communication as to when we can expect installation. Avoid at all costs.

We had Colin & Kyle as our installers who were really friendly, quick and efficient.

The first quote they gave me was silly money.The fitters did an excellent and tidy job.

Would give a zero if possible!
Having requested a quote I was told a salesperson would only be at the house for 45 minutes. On the evening of the appointment, she was there for two and a half hours using what I can only say were forceful sales techniques! At the time my husband thought it a good idea to get two of the 4 windows done and we paid a fee of £349 to get a surveyor out to measure the windows properly. We discussed it further after she left, and we decided to cancel and I did so first thing the next morning. I mentioned getting the £349 refunded and the Customer Advisor said she would do that as soon as the information was on the system. This was the 10/1/19.
Move forward to 14/1/19 when I called again to check about the refund and was told only then the refund would be put through. At the time I was told it would be 21 days for the refund to go through. Ridiculous in itself as they managed to take my money within minutes on the night.
I then call on the 21st day as no refund has been received and get told its 21 'working' days. Not happy with this and say that to her but she's disinterested.
I have now called this morning 12/2/19 (21 'working' days were up yesterday), to be told it will be in my account by the end of this week. NOT HAPPY!!
They have basically stolen my money and not given it back. I will keep checking this week but if the money is not in my account, I will be heading to Trading Standards. I have received no service for the money they have taken.
I have also received a call from the 'manufacturer' saying they had seen our order and how much Penicuik wanted to charge and that it was cancelled and that they could do a better deal for us?? What happened to Data Protection? My order was cancelled within hours and could never have been sent to a manufacturer as the windows were never measured properly..... How can my details be passed to a third party without my consent.
So in conclusion, do not use Penicuik!!

Update Friday 15/2/19 - no refund received. Now being told 21-30 days. Can’t hold to speak to a manager and when ask for a call back told it would be in 2-3 working days!

Penicuik - I would like someone to call me today and for my refund to be credited today too or I am going to Trading Standards and the papers and anyone else who will listen to me about the refund but also about your breach of data protection!!

Despite some problems to start with the job was finished satisfactorily.The end result looking good and everything left clean and tidy

Happy with the windows that got installed, we were never shown and example of pvc windowsills. When it arrived it was very soft, you could leave a scratch on the surface by just running your nail pressed against it. We ended up keeping our old timber. For expensive product we expected higher quality overall.

New windows fitted without fuss on date arranged. Only minor criticism is scaffolding was erected five days before job commenced

Everything is exactly as promised, installation carried out by exceptional personnel

Having previously given 5, stars and the undernoted glowing review I have to edit this due to poor customer service! I had my door installed and at the time of installation the satisfaction survey is also done. (Now I know the reasons for this) At this time I was told about what the installer had done and a run through of a checklist which he needed signed off, nothing was stipulated about timescales for reporting faults etc, nor was this discussed at the sales pitch and point of agreement being drawn up. I am now being told that you have 7 days, yes 7 whole days to report any faults which after this time period are not covered free of charge and will incur a charge for remedy.

This was not disclosed to myself at any time by either the sales advisor or the installer. I also made numerous attempts to contact penicuik via e-mail to no avail and no response was provided. I would not recommend this company given my experience and having paid £1200+ for a front door to be told it will not be repaired, I won't go into the seal of the door which requires to be replaced, needless to say no one else has turned back u to fix this!!!

I ordered a new front door for my property after having received a phone call from the sales team to book a consultation. The sales assistant attended promptly, on time, was polite and thoroughly explained everything. The company were accommodating with the repayment plan and willing to adjust figures, presumably for a sale, however it suited both parties.

The pre-installer appointment a few days later confirmed that all sizes were correct for the door which would be manufactured, it was reassuring this process was undertaken to ensure a smooth installation when the day came.

Installation day arrived and our installer Stevie arrived early in the morning, he was unfortunately caught up in traffic but this cannot be helped. The standard or work carried out by Stevie was to a very good standard, he was efficient, professional, provided informative explanations of any work carried out and kept the area clean where he was working. The whole installation took a lot less time than i thought it would have and i believe this is down to Stevie's experience and skills. The only issue was the manufacturer had not included the letterbox or spy hole that we had picked during the sales appointment. This issues was remedied the following day with another worker attending and installing the spy hole, we then decided against the letterbox being fitted in the door for security purposes, so in the end it worked out well and no harm done!

Had a really bad experience and still draughty, condensation and noise levels are bad

We would like to say what an excellent job we had done by Penicuik 8 windows 1 front door +french doors at back. The guys were spot on clean & efficient,as soon as they arrived at our house work started dust sheets put down everywhere in house.They stopped for about 15 mins for tea then back to the grindstone & we must say not even a skelf of wood was left in our garden where old windows & doors were put,all rooms were hooverd & put back together only thing they were that busy only got Brian,s name so well done to the team 3 cheers .
