Thanks to Sheena who sorted out my issue re my mother’s bin collection immediately this afternoon. Very nice lady who also provided information re their partnership with airtricity and also suggesting setting up a DD instead of paying by card as they are now charging for card payments.

Greyhound bins, kilcarbery Grange D22 awful service.

If you live in kilcarbery Grange D22 do not go with a greyhound for your household waste disposal provider. I am a customer with them for 2 months and almost every single week I have to contact them about at least 1 of my 3 bins not getting collected. In two months they have not in anyway resolved the issue and ignore me when I ask to cancel the service. Key Green waste have use of the communal bin sheds which is an advantage, as you don't have bins outside your house or in the back garden. I would recommend them. They are aways up in the estate.

High prices

High prices, zero service. Constant apologies and no improvement. Bins constant not emptied without any reason. When getting emptied, need to look for it around estate. Greyhound only good for increasing service charges.

Believe it or not, we do actually speak to individual crews about bin placements regularly. It's really important issue for us also. But after being awake since 4am, walking 15kms a day, lifting 300 bins each weighing 20kg, the lads sometimes can get tired and forget which bin goes where. We will keep trying though. One of beautiful parts of bin cartel in Ireland, or should I say Dublin specific.
All of the bin companies charge the same and also they increase the charges regularly for their loyal customers, which is great, because it shows you how much they care about you as a loyal customer.
3 times increased the price within one year should be criminal, but we all know how criminals go in Ireland.
Their ads still advertise 16,5€/month, but when you go on their website, the lowest it offers is 21,99€/month.
And lets not forget how they regularly overcharge us, by weighting the bins... Which means anyone can put anything inside your bin, or anyone can put in any weight and they'll gladly overcharge you, but when you make an enquiry or ask questions, they'll say that it is what it is, their scales system can't be wrong...
Especially since it only happened once to us, so obviously without a question we were lying, typical Irish approach.

Our prices do change and in the last number of years recycling and disposals have increased for every company in our industry. We still think at our lowest price our service, per month, offers great value for customers. For the price of a cup of a coffee and cake each week we'll send a truck and staff to collect and process your homes waste. Our app as well is great to track your waste and remind you what bin to put out and when.

With boring regularity

With boring regularity, my bin wasn't emptied again as scheduled. Always in too much of a hurry to notice. It's a shame the service doesn't improve as the price they charge increases.

Abject incompetence

Last Thursday the Greyhound bin collection took place in out area. It turned out to be a nightmare. I live in a cul-de-sac and the bin lorry reversed up the road (as all bin lorries must do given it’s a cul-de-sac) to begin it’s collection. I happened to be in an upstairs bedroom and observed it’s progress. Each time the lorry emptied the bins all manner of rubbish was left strewn across the road in it’s wake. The lorry appeared full and I could see the 2 binmen attempting to push rubbish further into the lorry. I went and told the binmen what was happening and also pointed to the mess they were leaving behind. I was met with abject incompetence. I pointed to and mentioned that many of the houses have cameras and that generated a half-hearted clean up. However, they only removed about half of the rubbish and continued on their way with a smile on their faces. I, of course, immediately phoned Greyhound to make a complaint - it’s midday on Thursday. I was told that a member of the team dedicated to investigating such complaints would call me by 17.00. Four working days later I’m still waiting. As I said abject incompetence. Most of my neighbours cleaned up the mess even though, in many cases, they (like me) are not customers of Greyhound. Those that are will be looking for a new service provider as soon as their contracts allow. Needless to say I will never be a customer of Greyhound.

Awful

Awful! Moved to greyhound 5 weeks ago and they will only collect the green and black bin. They keep leaving the brown bin. It’s been 5 weeks and despite calling them 2 or 3 times a week and speak to managers they still don’t collect. It’s now a health and safety issue.

I have been looking after our bin since…

I have been looking after our bin since last year. Recently this company don't give a damn about bins. They always leave some sticker that the bin is too heavy and leave a sticker instead taking it. Also with the wasting bag. You have to buy them and they not even taking it they just leave it there seagulls will sorted out. Council need to know this. Honestly worst service.

Hi Jonny, we're really sorry to read about this. Our trucks do have weight limits on the bins they can lift. When the bins are too heavy, unfortunately it becomes unsafe to lift them as the plastic bin might crack open as the machine lifts it. In the past we've had customers try to dispose of rubble and bricks in their bins, so that's why we had to put a stop to it. On the other points, we do all we can to collect bags but again if they are too heavy they will rip and cause a mess, so the lads don't lift the heavy bags. It's better to split it into 2 bags. If we can help in any way further please contact our customer care team.

Worst company ever!

Joke of a company. Have messed up our account have rang them multiple times as bins haven't been collected paid extra money to sort it out and bins still not being collected. Keep being told manager will call back who never does. Worst company ever have dealt with. Avoid like the plague!

Had difficulty cancelling/closing my…

Had difficulty cancelling/closing my account. Called 2 months ago to cancel but realised theh didn’t when I receive a message or amohnt due! How could you charge me for services when I no longer live in the property??? I saw an old news about unfair charges from your company and it is certainly right. Bin collection/sanitasion fee of over €40 ??? And there’s not even an option to cancel service on your website!

Terrible Services

We had a terrible experience with Greyhound. Every single time for the past month, our bins were not collected. Each time we contacted them we were told it will never happen again. It kept happening. They are also making it very difficult to go through with a cancellation. No call backs, no reply to emails, being ignored on the online chat when I mention I want to cancel. If anyone has cancelled please let me know how they did it. This company should not be allowed a presence at all, it is a joke.

they haven't picked up the bins for 6…

they haven't picked up the bins for 6 weeks, they said they could not find the bins and I have to pay extra to arrange a special pick up or wait for the next pick up. What a joke, I still paid for the full month and got no service.

He picked up my brown bin and put the…

He picked up my brown bin and put the contents into another brown bin that he had on the footpath in front of my house and some of it spilt out. Dog poo in a compost bag and some veg and he left it. This is a danger to kids and the public. We rang them up and got the run around. The council needs to know about this.

The worst service ever...I pay 32e…

The worst service ever...I pay 32e monthly and last 3 months I call all the time to them as no one collecting my brown bins (mine and mine neighbours) usually they collect every Thursday morning but brown and black bin every two weeks..but last 3 months no one collecting brown bin..yesterday I call 2 times and lady Jane she said they have time till 7pm but I knew it that's not gonna happen I told her I want full refund for whole month as service wasn't done and my money was taken..ridiculous she said she can't give me my money back

Awful Waste company

Artane Area - Awful Waste collection company. I'm not a customer. But they are one of 3 bin collectors in my area. The other 2 there is rarely an issue. Everything you put in the bin gets taken away. Greyhound don't do that. Greyhound try tip your bin contents in but for some reason (bins unsuitable for older lorries) your waste is partially going to end up on the ground and they don't pick it up and take it away. Green & brown bin collection seems to be most challenging for them. They basically fail at the simplest task that you pay them for. So before you go with them ask yourself the question do you want to pay for your waste taken away or pay for it to be dumped on the kerbside outside your property & leave the street looking filthy. Also have to mention their brown bin lorrys leak the bin juice onto the street leaving a stain. Again that doesn't happen with the other waste collectors. In summary their lorrys aren't fit for purpose and the management don't seem to care.

Update : see response from Greyhound (generic copy and paste). Never said I'd a missed collection, I'm not even a customer. Just goes to prove how poor their customer care is.
