Terrible
Need to educate their operatives in how to return the bin to were they where they got it, not abandoned in the middle of the road, or blocking a neighbours garden. Also those drivers need some serious education in the rules of the road. As I have experience with Greyhound customers care before, I expect zero notice to be taken of this review.
Nice of Greyhound to reply to my review. And to request further information, but leave no method to facilitate any further information.
And to also assume I am a customer of theirs. As I said I have experience of their customers service before, and that's when I ceased being a customer. A disgrace of a company.

Again today 19/11/24. Bins abandoned in the middle of the road, truck blocking people from getting to work and when the driver did move the truck, it was at speed and dangerously manoeuvred
Again today, 26/11 bins abandoned in the middle of the road, blocking access to property that are not even greyhound customers.
And again today 17/12, bins abandoned blocking roads and people's gardens, say they will have a word with their operatives !!!!! Sure what would you expect when they are barely paid the minimum wage. Disgusting company, run you people whom don't have the skill or resources to carry out the job.

Bin men were so good today, very heavy winds bins blown and they raced back to pick them all up. Always seem to be such hard working bunch of people. Never had an ounce of a problem - been with them for years

I have been a customer since they…
I have been a customer since they introduced the privatisation of the bin collection in Dublin. I have just checked my records and discovered that I've paid over €540 so far this year (in 10 months!). I hate to think what I've paid them over all the other years !!! I've checked online and I can get a 60kg waste collection per month for around €320 per year with no extra fees for the brown or green bins, elsewhere. The Greyhound website is useless for existing customers - no way of checking/changing price plans and no contact number or e-mail for customer service (only to report litter or problem with collections etc). Absolutely no reward or incentives for loyal customers. I left a message yesterday on their "virtual assistant" for them to contact me about cancelling my account but no contact yet. ( Update 21/10/24 - still no e-mail from them 5 days later).

I am a new customer with Greyhound…and disappointed
I am a new customer with Greyhound Bin.. So put the bins always a day before. and for my surprise was that they didn't collect a Green Bin. and also when I call them? they told me that they will collect on the next collection - what is after 2 weeks.. OK? My Green bin is already Full (so I asked - can I put the other plastic in White Plastic Bags? to be collected? - the answer was NO) what very disappointed me... if we all working for a green life and for safe the Planet? and if is free of Charge? I think is good to Collect extra plastic - more then that in couple of weeks we will have Christmas and a lot of New Plastic and carton to Difference... SO DISAPOINTED (so they arrange a collection in 2 Days. See if that happens.

I'm very happy with Greyhound
I'm very happy with Greyhound, I've been with them for over 3 years and I never had any issues except for the yearly price increase. Their customer care is pretty good as well.
I only wish they had a bin cleaning service as well.

The fuel prices dropped to their pre-war level now, and the general inflation rate is 15%, not 200% and yet greyhound keeps milking the loyal customers into oblivion.

Charged for non existant bin lift
I was charged for a bin lift but I did not have a bin out for collection that day. I telephoned my complaint and was promised a call back when it was rectified.
However nothing was corrected or no call back.
I now have no confidence in a company that acts like this so I will be cancelling your service. J Rooney

I wouldn’t recommend Greyhound as a provider. Being an existing customer, they do not give any promotions towards loyal existing customers and all promotions are only for new customers.
And when you want them to contact you back, even when you asked for their manager, they never contact you.
They forget about the existing customers and how to keep them.

Reputation in the gutter
Increasing prices several times over the last few years is understandable due to inflation but please don’t blame the latest increase on “operational costs” as you have mentioned in your latest email. It is just greed, plain and simple- profits are down due to the new recycling deposit return scheme. If this is the case (which it is) It’s difficult to see how you can justify a €3p/m hike on just one of your bin types (recycling) when compared to your previous similar increases covering all bin types. Is there a projected timeline when we can expect these hikes to be reversed after inflation is under control again? The least you can do when gouging your loyal customers is be honest with them.

DO NOT USE GREYHOUND FOR WASTE COLLECTION!! THEY ARE A DISGRACE OF A COMPANY AND DO NOT TREST THEIR CUSTOMERS WELL!
They refuse to cancel my account with them without paying a 45 euro sanitation and bin collection fee, when I asked to speak to management about this they hung up the phone on me and I haven't received a call back.
Direct debit cancellated and moved to another company with better customer service.

Collect your bins .
Changed to another provider, told 5 working days for collection ,well over the time frame now. Interagated why I was changing ,customer service rep was very unprofessional, seemed to take it personal I wanted to switch ,got very confrontational, had to tell him it wasn't an argument and to cancel ,I wanted to change and that was it,then told there was a charge. When a double payment was only taken out of my bank I would have been well in credit and the bins are empty. Extremely difficult to deal with.

Constant increases in fees
Constant increases in fees, but very silent as they do it! No notification to customer, be it email or post. Shocking behaviour from what’s supposed to be a legitimate company.
Sooner the better Dublin CC are directed to take back control and responsibility from these people.
The below reply is from their stock list! Who carried out this ‘Study’? One of the stake holders in this business of course.

I recently ordered a midi skip with…
I recently ordered a midi skip with greyhound for €200 online to be collected after two days. However to my horror today they took just over €275 extra from my bank account, I had agreed to there terms and conditions by ticking a box which I presumed was like every other skip company I've ever used that if the skip advertised is say €200 then you pay €200, however greyhound charged me by weight even though the skip wasn't even full. Absolute rip off, after numerous phone calls I just kept being quoted there t&cs, I got no satisfaction from them.this was my fourth skip from various skip company's on my garden revamp and all of the other three company's just charged me what they advised with no issues, greyhound just happened to be supposedly cheaper for a midi skip that day when I was booking my last skip. Very very very very unhappy customer, I will never recommend or use them again Pat shortall

Unreliable and don't care about clients
Unreliable and don't care about their customers, all they do reliably is take money from you regardless of whether the service has been delivered. Our family was leaving the house to go to a different country for a year +, and we called Greyhound to order bin emptying and collection for the day before our move. The person on the other end of the line was utterly useless, she didn't listen at all to what I was saying, I needed to repeat myself several times before I could get any answers to my questions, and the answers kept changing. First she said the bins could be collected on Tuesday, then only on Monday. I asked what time we could secure, to which they said "anytime between 6a.m. and 8p.m.". I said great, how about as late as possible (we were packing the house, naturally there would be trash as a result). And then after a while the agent said, they could not guarantee the time and we needed to present the bins the night before. Then she told us it would cost 20 euros per bin, but later turned out would be 20 overall. Then she forgot to collect the fee and needed to call me back. And after all that, guess what?? THEY NEVER EMPTIED OR COLLECTED THE BLOODY BINS, not in the morning, not in the evening. They took the money alright, made doubly sure of it. Oh, the agent also failed to mention the actual bin collection would be another 4 business days later, despite me repeating several times we would be out of the country. Obviously empty bins by the side of the road are a hazard, but what do they care, the fee has been paid.
P.S. And don't even get me started on the time some months ago when there was a storm on a normal regular waste collection date, and despite the storm and multiple customer requests Greyhound refused to let people present the bins after the storm, like other waste management services did. They just rolled around the neighbourhood to tick a box, not collecting anything, because no one in their right mind would roll the bins out in that sort of weather. But Greyhound did not give a rat's a**. They did take the money though, go figure!

Think I'll stick with what I've got! …
I have been considering my bins recently and checking and comparing prices for bin collections. I do see a difference in what I pay for City Bin and Greyhound there's a different alright. However, judging by the comments section and some are good some are bad I just don't think I can go back to Greyhound because I had really bad service from them yrs ago. It was a nightmare to be honest. I was always annoyed at them for this one year and I had enough I was finished with them. It's more of a service problem for me. I'd go back if I could believe that my bin won't go missing, or the bin would be flung across the road towards the houses instead of just outside my apartment where I live or the bin would even be emptied. This had happened to me a few times in one whole year I had too many problems with them and I was furious over them. It's really the bin collection staff that was shoddy. They decide whether or not they're gonna go a good job or not. So they didn't. Now I do watch them emptying out the bins each week and the bins do be all over the road. I don't mind paying that bit extra for a good service and what I get now is just that from the company I'm with. So I think I'll stay. The comments section just made it more real for me. I live on my own and work so I just can't deal with that nonsense anymore nowadays plus I won't be walking up and down the road when I get home looking for my bin.
Maybe one of my neighbours has one of my old Greyhound bin that went missing in their garden and nicked it, it certainly wouldn't surprise me because I keep my bins very very clean and wash them out and wipe them down too. Who knows. Good service is really all people want and yes of course pricing helps. Take care everyone.
My experience was around 2016/2018 but it won't let me set it for that time so I will have to stick with a recent date. The setting is too short.

Bunch of thieves. Taking more and more money every month then saying it's "admin fees". The gentleman I spoke to can't even speak English properly so is no help whatsoever and quite rude. Will never use this company again. Off to city bins who aren't as expensive
