We were genuinely interested in one of their rental properties and were considering moving forward with the application process.

We were informed that physical viewings are not conducted and that they do virtual tours only. We had a follow-up question, as it was important for us to understand how it would work before deciding how to proceed. We never received any response though.

This lack of communication is a significant red flag, and we decided that we didn’t want to proceed as tenants (with this or other properties) or to work with this agency in a landlord capacity.

From a property owner’s perspective, this kind of unresponsiveness to a basic clarification raises concerns about how reliably and transparently the agency manages communication and enquiries from potential tenants.

Not a great experience. Communication is extremely poor. If I'm honest, it's absolute non existent. You've to call persistently hoping you don't get the answerphone during business hours. In addition, they're full of crap. Lie about things for their own end. Really not impressed. I thought Corum were bad..Perhaps this is not a true reflection of all their branches.

We have used Donald Ross to sell and buy properties over the last few years always find the to be very professional and helpful.
However we bought a house this time through Donald Ross in Ayr we picked up our keys to the new house and was given a nice gesture of money off at the tree house we went and presented the voucher and was told it was out of date and could not be used this was on 17th May 2026 and we only got voucher on the 15th May but voucher date was April fined this very embarrassing and not very good attention to detail from the staff at Donald Ross. You need to make sure that if your giving people something that’s it in date to use. Regards Andrew & Mary

After living in the same property for 67 years I decided to sell. All Donald Ross staff gave me excellent customer service, from the valuation carried out on 20th March, and an offer accepted on 9th April. I would gladly recommend them.

I have phoned the office today to highlight our concerns. A pattern of not contacting the tenant - who were happy to liaise with the agent - and the final irritation of a booked appointment at the premises was not undertaken by Donald Ross Residential. This was an inconvenience for the tenant and failing to contact in this case was a poor show.
The contact with the reception staff was generally a welcoming and good experience, but the failure to communicate effectively and undertake the task at hand means a OneStar review is appropriate.

Sold our house with Donald Ross, absolutely no issues, kept us up to date with everything, so passed their details onto my daughter who is currently in the process of selling her house

What a rocky road we moved into property in 2023 rented. Got given our notice to leave in October. Told family were moving in due to health. Not even 2 months later the property is up for sale.

Everything was at ease from start of advertising house sale until when house was sold & keys handed over..contact & correspondence between myself & the girls from the office in Irvine went perfect ...advertising of the house & the pictures were perfect & house sale went through really quickly & that was within 6 weeks which took me back but really pleased with how smooth everything went ...Thankyou to The Donald Ross team & the amazing effort they put into selling my house with amazing professionalism

the experience of selling our home was exceptional due to the professionalism of donald ross staff, particularly naomi witchard who guided us through the entire process and as our main point of contact was always receptive and able to deal with any issues or points of clarification that we had.

This is an update to my previous review which they ask you to complete when things are going well. 6 months after putting our house on the market and 2 collapsed sales we are no further forward. We already paid £800 for HR and photos. If we want to stop selling house with them we have to pay them £600. I think at this point in time they should accept that they have not delivered. Think carefully about signing up with them.

We were very impressed by the Donald Ross team, from the minute we had our old house valued, to the support we received up to and including our moving date.
They were extremely professional and went over and above to assist us when needed.
Would most definitely recommend!!
