Dishonest & Unprofessional
A truly terrible completion - but what makes the service so bad is the inability and unwillingness to accept any responsibility.
Issue primarily surrounds completion - at the time the money was transferred into the sellers' solicitor's account, none of the keys were secured. Hours later, only one key and fob was available and I was forced to chase it down myself.
Despite explaining the situation and cost of this inconvenience on moving day, I was told incorrect information by the agency as they refused to accept any blame. Firstly, they said that exchange was simultaneous, despite the paperwork being signed and exchange occurring much earlier in the week. Then they told me that they advise changing the locks, conveniently overlooking the fact that the FOB to the building is what provides access.
Simply put, the money cannot have been transferred without any access to the flat being provided - no key, no FOB. I have had to get solicitor involved to look into the matter further, which is good as a sign as any that the agents on this deal were not operating as they should.
Utterly let down by this service and inability to even accept the responsibility as they continued to lie and misstate the facts in all their responses.

Completion day can be fraught, and we share, understand and empathise with your frustrations regarding the key handover not proceeding smoothly.
However, an Agent can only release the physical keys/fobs that they hold in their possession at the time of legal completion.
Fobs are often a generic communal resource for residents and is why there is emphasis placed on changing door locks to any incoming homeowner for numerous reasons. For example, the previous owners may have had multiple sets of keys cut for their own familial use. Or there may have been multiple estate agent firms issued with keys when marketing commenced. Replacing locks is seen as a good security precaution over trying to account for every set that has been cut.
On completion day itself, the onus is on the seller to ensure that they make keys/fobs available for the incoming purchaser once completion is confirmed. They don’t have to lodge them with their agent, key handover can be between seller and purchaser or from a development concierge/representative.
Legal completion doesn't happen at a set time of the day and is based on completion monies being received by the seller's solicitors bank, only then can keys be released wherever they are held.
Planning completion timings can be difficult because of the latter and on occasion there can also be delays with outgoing owners/previous tenants securing the property a final time and providing full sets of keys.
Factors like these can and often will be beyond our reasonable control. Apologies again that things didn’t proceed exactly as hoped on your move in day.

Do not trust Alex Neil
We had the worst experience with Alex Neil. After signing the pre-tenancy agreement, which included furniture, we were sent the final tenancy agreement, which again we signed.
The final agreement did not include the inventory but nowhere it mentioned that it would void the pre-tenancy agreement.
5 days before entering the property, we received a call from the property admin which informed us that the landlord decided that he would not provide any furniture. Alex Neil could not offer a discount towards the rent nor a refund of the agency fee.
Saying that we were disappointed is an understatement as we could not take up the apartment any longer as purchasing furniture was not within our budget. It's now 2 days to the day when were are leaving our current flat and we still haven't found a replacement, leaving us stranded on a street and having to beg our friends to let us stay with them.

Based on your previous and current internet activity we can receive information from third party portals/websites that you’ve visited or perhaps you’ve utilised an app with a similar policy.
Many websites, apps and portals that we utilise to assist buyers, tenants, landlords and sellers can share their visitor data with the businesses that use them. They obtain visitor consent to share personal data by your acceptance of their own GDPR/privacy and cookie policies when using their site.
For example, and not limited to websites/apps like Rightmove, Zoopla, OntheMarket, Spareroom, Gumtree etc can share data in this way, and this list is not exhaustive.

How can I explain my experience is ALEXNEIL … painful perhaps? Was supposed to be a fun and exciting experience for me and my boyfriend however it was disappointing and heartbreaking and ALEXNEIL did nothing to help. We went for a viewing for a FULLY FURNISHED flat … when we moved in we got a ‘PART FURNISHED’ which was the sofa and dining table only. Imagine our shock and surprise. The agency had no idea when I called them, finally the landlady ordered us a bed that was £40 from amazon with a mattress that was WAY to small. We battled back and forth and the landlady only agreed to buy a dining table and tv stand as essentials to the flat. We pay a lot a month for this flat (being new Canary Wharf) and had another -£960 in buying furniture for our so called ‘FULLY FURNISHED FLAT. We paid stupid amount of a deposit, speaking with ALEXNEIL we was told ‘what more do we want’. They are unprofessional and unable to communicate. To this day (we moved in a few months ago) we are having trouble communicated with ALEXNEIL, they moved us in the a damp, mouldy not so perfect flat and I think I’m in the right to share this with you all. If you choose to go with this company please please do it with your eyes wide open, they’re scammers, they won’t communicate with you after they rob your money. This review was a long time coming.

I’m giving them 3* just because Dimarli was very nice guy, but as soon as heard about £300 per person agency fees I was not interested in dealing with this agency at all. What for? You can do reference check via homelet for £20!

The agent Do Yeon Kim is the best agent ever!!! Helpful, polite, attentive to everything you and your family may need from an house! He found me few houses that were just stunning, and even though I have then changed my mind and was looking for a 3 bedrooms flat and not anymore for a 2 bedrooms flat he kept standing by my side and helping me and my family finding what is more appropriate for us.

Alex neil is hands down way the worst…
Alex neil is hands down way the worst estate agent in london. They continuously ignore emails, necessary repairs and won’t hesitate to lie over the phone.
All reviews here are either 5’s or 1’s, which makes me very suspicious about the 5’s. generally a barbelled review pattern is a good indicator of fake reviews

It took several weeks of calling and…
It took several weeks of calling and emailing to get a response to a fairly simple admin query. Everyone I spoke to was very polite, it just seemed that the department I was trying to get hold of had no desire to respond to me - leaving their colleagues endlessly calling and emailing on my behalf.
I was also encouraged to leave 5 star reviews online in exchange for discounts on certain fees. While there were certain positive things I had to say, I don't think my experience merited five stars (and asking for positive reviews in exchange for discounts strikes me as incredibly morally questionable).

A very good all round service
A very good all round service. I chose 3 local agents and 1 online agent to sell my property on the isle of dogs. Alex Neil sold it in 9 days. I was very happy with their services and would highly recommend. I would like to mention Harry (who sold my house) and Liz (the sales chaser) who both did a great job.

Worst Agency in London
I regret the day when I found this agency. They never answered my emails / calls in time, it took weeks to have hearing in the flat. The fees are ridiculous. £360 to change a sentence in a contract.
Also, the previous tenant told me that Alex Neil pressured them to post fake positive reviews on various websites.
Avoid them!!!

Disastrous service.
It's hard to comprehend the level of anger I feel towards the service we have been provided by this company.
After having a serious break in, the company promised a new door to replace the broken one and ensure our safety. This was only installed 7 months later, after endless emails and false promises from Alex Neil.
We have now got a damp problem which we have been struggling with for over 4 months. Not only is this a health hazard to us as occupiers, but its leading to deterioration of the flat's state. Despite our proactive approach of trying to get this sorted before the winter, we are still at square one, with the agency refusing to provide us with the landlord's contact number. We are now going to take this to the next step and contact the Environmental Health Council with the hope of our matters being taken seriously.
One would think that the agency fee's that we pay would guarantee a satisfactory service, yet I am extremely disappointed to find out that this is not the case.

ALEX NEIL IS THE WORST COMPANY …
I regret ever using alex Neil as an estate agent to getting my first property.
They don't provide urgent management including safety issue like the front is not closing for mantainace issues. Issues dealt with 31 days after the initial request date. Making the the time in the propert within the 31 days unbearable and inheritable and even very unsafe (risk of burglars). Of which I recently had two Intruders, police was contacted as a result. Some urgent issues still not rectified even after 31 days of initial request. These issues where even escalated to the director of alex Neil and still not rectified, the director also failed to provide any acknowledgement nor any form of apology for the delay. I would not recommend alex Neil estate agent Surrey quays.
