Dreadful service!!
Rang Williams BMW Motorrad to ask if I could drop my bike (2nd I bought from them) off on Sunday 8th Oct as MOT was soon to expire, staff said it was OK, I explained didn’t need it for a week or so. Did not hear from service department, so I rang a week later to be told bike wouldn’t be ready for a further two weeks! Attitude of person on their service desk was appalling, “you’ll just have to wait” Dreadful attitude and awful service!! Not buying my next bike from them.
Williams BMW Stockport - terrible customer service
Recently visited Williams BMW Stockport following notification of a recall. Was told that the car would be required for 2 days, which turned about to be 1, meaning that the car would be parked on their premises overnight. I went to pick the car up the day after as it was too late to pick it up. I collected the keys and walked to the car. I noticed a scratched door and 2 car park dents. I had bought the car 2 weeks earlier and these marks were definitely not there. I raised it with a member of staff who turned out to be the Service Manager. We both walked out to the car and he claimed that i walked "straight to" the marks, implying that they were already there. His attitude was awful and very clumsy. He clearly couldn't care less about my opinions or point of view. I've wrote to BMW but don't hold out much hope. The car will not be going back there anytime soon. I'd strongly recommend that should you have a choice avoid Williams at all costs as you will get a more honest approach at the specialists around the corner.
Such an awful awful experience
Such an awful awful experience
Booked my car for inspection and service at Williams Stockport and Waited a couple of weeks for this appointment. My car wasn't working and I had to bring it on a flatbed truck which I paid an absolute fortune and when I arrived at them they told me to get it away from here and they don't want to deal with it and they won't take it on
That's after I explained on the phone exactly what was wrong with the car and what I needed to do and they said sure no problem.!
And when I told him about it they said oh must have been a miscommunication misunderstanding can't help you. So you have to take your car out of here!
With such an attitude just because I didn't buy it from them!!!
i have never seen such a rude man!!!

Really bad experience and I filed a complaint with BMW customer service and I have attempted to contact Mario Moser their group customer service director via LinkedIn.

Subject: Serious Service Issues with BMW Branches
Dear Mario,
I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction with the service I have recently received from BMW, specifically from two different branches.
Firstly, I encountered a deeply disappointing experience at one of your branches, which left me questioning the competence and training of a member of your service team. Despite being a willing customer prepared to pay for necessary repairs on my car, I faced reluctance and a severe lack of assistance. This fell far below my expectations for BMW's customer service standards.
To exacerbate the situation, when I requested contact details for another branch, the individual in question outright refused to provide them. This final act of uncooperativeness was the tipping point in my already unsatisfactory experience.
Regrettably, I have decided not to return to BMW in the near future. Furthermore, next year, I will be switching our two BMW cars back to Porsche, a brand known for exceptional customer service.
Sadly, my negative experience does not end here. I am currently facing similar issues with your Stockport branch. The service representative there displayed a distinct lack of willingness to assist, forcing me to demand a booking for my car as a paying customer. I successfully scheduled the work for September 20th after making the request on September 11th.
Imagine my shock when I arrived at the branch at 8 am, only to receive a call at 4:30 pm informing me that my car had not even been started, without any explanation or offer of a courtesy car. Such treatment is wholly unacceptable.
To my dismay, your complaint department, which I attempted to contact to address these issues, ceased taking calls after 3 pm. This severely limits the ability of customers to voice their concerns.
I eagerly await your response and action to rectify these distressing matters. This evening, I intend to leave a second Google review, this time detailing my experience with your Stockport branch.
Sincerely,
Chris Wainwright-Park
I’m not surprised by the amount of…
I’m not surprised by the amount of negative reviews. Booked a routine Saturday service for my 4 series and was contacted by BMW MCR a few weeks later who informed me of a recall and could only carry out the work on a weekday, meaning a days holiday would have to be sacrificed. When I asked if this was a change part? I was informed it would be a diagnostic check I’m guessing no-more than 30 mins including oil and filter change 2.5 hrs maximum time. Same experience happened last year, again the same recall this time software update meaning potentially 2 days holidays sacrificed with a 3rd when the change part is made available, and all down to a manufacturing fault by BMW.
Just to clarify no holidays have been lost, the first recall I dug my heels in due to a call Friday 5pm informing me of a change to my service the following morning. (As we can’t do recall work on a Saturday story) guess what THEY DID. Car serviced recall work carried out in 2.5 hrs !?
I’m still expecting the service manager (as promised) to make contact either by email or talking to me ……and waiting!!
Rotten experience.
My daughters Mini was recovered to…
My daughters Mini was recovered to Williams Manchester after being diagnosed at the roadside by BMW assistance with a relay issue. The car is under approved warranty, all they were interested in was getting £140 to diagnose the fault and couldn't diagnose it properly, AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Worst experience ever…
Not got the greatest reviews at all and now I know why !!! We made an appointment to see Ismail Voraji who apparently has worked for BMW for over 15 years and never had a complaint made against him. I really find this hard to believe he was a perfect gentleman until we decided to look elsewhere for a car. Received a call from the manager who apologised on his behalf and would get back to us once he had looked into thr problem, although Ismail wanted to speak to us himself to apologise which I find very hard to believe. Still no return call after 8 weeks as promised by the manager. Went to the VW garage in Stockport straight after leaving here and had a totally different experience, would never return to this showroom a total disgrace
EGR Cooler
Where do I start.
I own a BMW X1 xDrive. On 15th June 2023 a Drivetrain fault displayed on the dashboard.
I contacted Williams BMW Liverpool they said they are aware of the fault and to await a recall letter as they were currently unable to rectify the fault due to manufacturing issues and to call them back within a month if I haven’t received a recall letter.
On 19th July I recalled Williams BMW Liverpool advised to wait for recall letter as still no parts available.
By now the engine management light had appeared several times.
On 17th August I received a recall letter of the 5 symptoms listed my vehicle was displaying the 1st two.
Low coolant level (having to top up daily) and the Engine Drive train warning message.
I contacted Williams BMW Liverpool and they provided me with a date of 30th October 2023. Aware that these faults are potentially dangerous as there have been instances when vehicles have gone on fire I tried to recall Williams Liverpool but after a 42 minute wait gave up. I recalled and was told an email would be sent for someone to contact me. I had to call back the following day were another email was sent and I eventually spoke to the service manager who stated that was the earliest date available and advised to ring BMW assist which I did they informed they could recover the vehicle to Williams Liverpool who would have 7 days to inspect / repair the vehicle before I would be eligible for a courtesy car.
I then contacted the customer complaints department although very sympathetic could do nothing to provide an earlier repair date or arrange a courtesy car.
I find the whole situation unacceptable, the fault on the vehicle is not of my making. BMW have been aware of this fault for a considerable time and I’m now having to drive a vehicle that is potentially dangerous for the next 10 weeks which would be 5 months from lodging the fault with Williams Liverpool. If I could have given NO stars I would have.
Could someone from Williams Liverpool please respond to this review and explain if they consider their response to this issue satisfactory and good customer service.
So many negative reviews
I'm shocked at the very high percentage of negative reviews here from disgruntled customers of Williams BMW. Thanks to these I will give them a wide berth and take my business elsewhere. I wonder why BMW head office hasn't done anything to rectify the many issues raised, maybe they don't care either.
Outstanding work and experience
I came to Williams for some bodywork on my MINI Cooper S, and the work they've done is fantastic. Lee at the Manchester Williams branch was excellent. A fast, knowledgeable and polite manager who made the experience 10/10.
I didn't catch the name of technician who did the work, but it's stunning! You can't tell there was an issue in the first place.
Thanks again all at Williams Bodyshop Manchester.
Experience
So I recntly applied for a job with this company as a Business Manager at Mini Liverpool, I have all the right skill set to fulfil this role but due to having a hand tattoo they were unable to offer me the role. If I am being honest I find this disappointing, disrespectful and degrading due to the current standards on the recruitment process!! I have been discriminated from this role because I have a non offensive tattoo on my hand, which clearly signifies the year and time my daughter was born. For this reason I would completely disregard ever applying for a role with this company and also I will not be recommending this company to any friends, family or co workers. Disgusted!!!
WILLIAMS BMW BOLTON
BOLTON Williams BMW
I have been going to Williams BMW Bolton for over 20 years.
I have bought several cars along with family members spending several hundred thousand pounds , never again.!!
I took my car for a service recently and the headlight had condensation in it so it needed changing under the warranty as it only has 13000 miles and 18 months old so still well within the 3 Yr warranty.
I was informed by a service desk personnel that I would have to pay for the investigation even though it was under warranty and covered?
I then got told when I picked the car up that it wasn't bad enough and there had to be a lot more condensation in the headlight before they would change it under the warranty.
I found this quite comical!! Even one of the car salesman saw it and said it needed changing under the warranty.
I am sure if it we're their own vehicle they too would not be happy having to look at condensation in the headlight lense.
This has happened before on another X4 I had and was changed under warranty, clearly a common fault on the sealed lense units they are being supplied with.
Not good for a vehicle 18 months old that was the best part of £56000 new.
There was also another issue where the car cut out about x4 times whilst driving and was dangerous on one occasion on the East Lancs road when my wife was driving it, to my amazement when my key was scanned at the service desk I was told there was a recall for the engine management system to be updated, when I asked was this causing the vehicle to cut out, they hadn't got a clue!!! I would never have known about the recall if I hadn't took my car in for a service.
Bolton BMW have gone down the pan for me.
Even friend's and family have stopped going because of the dreadful after sales service.
I asked to speak to one of the two managers that were on site, but was informed that they were both busy? Even though the showroom was empty.
I asked for a call back
No one ever called me back, another surprise!
I will not be buying any more cars or having any service from Williams BMW Bolton ever again.
They have lost yet another long term customer, I really don't think they give a damm.
The management need changing and so do the staff at the service desk who clearly need training about the product that they are dealing with and giving customers proper information etc.
They clearly dont understand the product and when you ask questions about your vehicle they don't know the answers as they don't know anything about BMW vehicles.
I will be going to another manufacturer for my next vehicle who cares about keeping customers happy and informed and where they are generally interested in retaining long term customer satisfaction and relationship etc. who spend a lot of their hard earned income.
Not a pleasant experience.!!!
Avoid!!!
Appalling after sales
Brilliant sales
After sales and service shocking
Never been treated so appallingly by anyone
Not resolved and ignored, gave several opportunities to put right but again, ignored.
Avoid like the clap
Bolton back being a basket case
Bolton aftersales used to be really good. I’ve been having my BMW serviced with them since 2003. At first they were known to be a basket case but I persevered with them as they were local and if anything went wrong, I had the backing of BMW UK. Around 2009 the service really was great up until around 2018. Now I’m afraid that they’ve reverted back to being a bit of a basket case. It’s a shame really but clearly their experienced staff who knew the brand have left only to be replaced with people who don’t understand what good service is. Never on time, not always booked in, front desk no clue about the product. It’s so disappointing to see and so I’m now going to use Halliwell Jones as I believe thats where the experienced staff now work. According to one of the very few long term salesmen, aftersales have been in this state since the appointment of their Group Aftersales managers. Surely getting back to basics like they once did 14 years ago needs to happen. Such a shame.
All BMW franchises are not the same
We bought a car from another BMW franchise who, sadly, seemed to want to make it as hard as possible for them to help us. So, we contacted Williams BMW Stockport. First class service throughout. Booking in was easy and within two weeks (compared to six weeks elsewhere). Reminder text the day before. A warm welcome at the door on the day. Coffee and danish for the short wait to check in and discuss our concerns about the car. Friendly and knowledgeable check in of the car. Free cuddly toy for our 13 week old baby. Thorough check and report that we weren’t charged for. Two hours later the car was back with us. The best service I’ve had from any garage - I’ll be considering BMW when I next change my car. Really wish we’d bought the car through them. Thanks very much.
Dissatisfied Customer
Booked car in for diagnostics check for sensor engine warning light on 13 February. On 7th March car tested found fault with oil filter. 3 different Technicians have addressed the issue, one reported oil filter correct. Senior Technician working on car yesterday. Cost £800 for 4 hours labour, plus additional £1,000 for other Technicians labour and diagnostics. Car still in garage, awaiting horrendous bill for any further work undertaken. Customer Receptionist very polite with updates but fact of the matter is I am still awaiting my car and it is now 25th April. Will update review when car returned to me.
Excellent service from Williams Manchester
I dealt with Adam at williams manchester when enquiring about a M340i. The service i received was exceptional giving me all the information i needed about that car and allowing a smooth test drive to happen. Unfortunately i decided to go with a car from a different BMW dealership but won't hesitate to come back to the manchester branch when i'm back in the market.
Avoid this company. Liverpool branch liars
Awful bought car and had endless problems with it. Warranty? The drag it out taking 3 months at least to resolve it don't buy from them you'll regret it like I do
Not the service or preparation I’m used to from a Franchised BMW dealer
Recently purchased a used 640d Gran Coupe from Williams, Bolton. Initial enquiry with Stefan excellent. Afterwards had to repeatedly chase the allotted sales person for video, pics and purchase info.
On collection I was not too impressed with the car’s preparation. BMW prep standards are usually excellent. Mediocre refurb to three alloys and two large ‘rock chips’ which could and should have been touched in (I accept it’s a used car and small imperfections are to be expected but these can definitely be seen from 2 metres away!) Internal valet ok but dirt and dust in numerous cracks and crevices.
Finally, on joining motorway noticed a vibration through the steering wheel and seat. Have had all four wheels balanced and they were miles out.
Not what I’m used to and way short of the service/preparation I’ve received from Sycamore and other dealers in the past.
It’s noticeable that Williams choose not to reply to Trust Pilot Reviews. If I were the dealer principal I would be somewhat ashamed of them.
Paid £99 deposit as advised to stop…
Paid £99 deposit as advised to stop people looking at a Mini Cooper S. obviously refundable so thought why not, nothing to lose. Even though I wasn’t committed as I was still searching they took my bank details. Thought nothing of it. Anyway, decided not to go ahead as found a JCW from Lloyds group. 6 weeks on and I’m still chasing my £99 deposit back and the cheeky sids actually put my details through to Mini finance without my authorisation. How terribly rude is that. Anyway, they think they are getting away with my £99 but they will be wrong. I will be competing a form to send in the bailiffs by the end of the week. Do not trust these charlatans.
