If you are looking for good customer service experience look elsewhere
My recent experience with BMW Williams Trafford was deeply disappointing. The customer service is abysmal; they rarely answer emails or return calls, leaving me feeling ignored and frustrated.
I encountered numerous issues with my financial agreement, specifically regarding incorrect information about the car's mileage. Despite being promised a refund nearly two months ago, I have yet to see any resolution.
The entire experience was uncomfortable, marked by unprofessional and unhelpful behaviour from the sales representative. I am generally dissatisfied with the level of service provided, compared to other dealerships.
On the day of pick-up, I discovered deep marks on the car, which had not been disclosed previously. When I raised this concern, I was dismissively told to purchase additional cover to fix it. This lack of transparency and care is unacceptable.
Given these issues, I do not recommend BMW Williams Trafford. I will take my future business to another dealership and will not be returning for any services or work. Despite the car being used and overall good condition, the lack of information and poor customer service have left a lasting negative impression.

Excellent service from Jason Howe at Williams Bolton. Very thorough and considerate

Great to deal with - but sold me an X3 that had been serviced by Halfords - not good when Px time arrives
Never occurred to me to check - assuming everything would be in order from such a reputable dealer
Check the service history!!
Mis-sold us an accident damaged car with >£20k issues
Williams Select sold us an accident damaged £30k Audi with significant problems and are refusing to refund. Audi have deemed the car unsafe to drive and it has been in the garage for 6 months.
Audi have quoted >£20k repairs and have said there could be other damage they are unaware of.
I spotted a problem during the test drive that would have indicated the underlying problem, but I was given a plausible excuse as to what it was, which turned out to be a cover up.
We have taken it in to Audi 4 times, with the most recent time being November. We have not had the car for 6 months now. We were without a car for 4 weeks before Christmas, then have been driving a courtesy car from Audi ever since, which Audi didn't have to provide us, so we were extremely lucky they were good enough to provide one for 5 months.
Williams Select have mis-sold us a car of totally unsatisfactory quality. We want a refund, but Williams Select are refusing.

AFTER SALES SERVICE IS NON EXISTENT.
I have purchased over 30 BMWS in the past 38 years but never come across such poor pre delivery checks and substandard vehicles as sold by Williams.
Very polite service when looking for a a car. Put deposit down on a £30k X5 but i couldnt drive it due to it not being checked over first.
Arranged to collect the car the following Friday 7 days later however I needed to test drive it before i paid for the car . Dealership requesting I pay the balance (26k) in full before i had chance to drive the car. ( due to it being the end of the month targets). This practice has nothing to do with the customer and should not be mentioned to the customer.
On way to collect car the following Friday only to receive an Email saying that I could test drive it but it had not been cleaned or prepared for sale !! Test drove the X5 and heard a loud squeek from rear tailgate area and also mentioned to salesman that central console felt loose. He blamed squeek on the trade plates and said central console is an age related thing !!
Again asked for the remaining balance.
Rescheduled purchase/collection for 5 days later.
Collected car , on way home squeek was still there, passenger seat was shaking backwards and forwards.
Got home and started to clean car when i noticed the central console was not bolted down I could fit my hand under it.
Later realised the boot had an intermittent fault, only opening 1 inch on every other attempt.
I emailed the salesman later that day regards the issues.
Returned car 48 hrs later to be told by sales manager Dan Ashboirne that all cars squeek, even though salesman and service rep drove it upon my return and admitted it was too loud to be acceptable, i also showed them the faulty boot opening. Sales manager returned to me explaining they couldnt find any seat or boot issue and that I had damaged the central console myself whilst putting vinyl wrap around the console. I only put wrap on after i had booked it back in for the faults and this was on my home cctv but they would not accept it had left their dealership like this.
Used sales manager even questioned why it had taken me so long to report the issues, ( 4 hours) I didnt realise there was only a small window of minutes to report and issue.
Appalling service and nil customer service skills. I have been a public sector proffesional or over 30 years and couldnt believe this jumped up sales mamagers couldnt care less attitude.
Sales manager offered a refund as it was clear I wasnt happy. They only wanted the X5 back as i paid in cash and the next poor soul who buys it might use their finance as this is where the profits are. Due to awful after sales service by used car manager i accepted the refund.
Williams BMW are very nice when your spending money but dont want to know afterwards.
Will never use them again
Still waiting 5 weeks later for my extended warranty refund of £884 on the BMW I part exchanged.
I have also returned 2 cars to Williams Bolton due to a loose engine mount and broken suspension all identified within 24 hours of collecting the cars.

Go to Listers, lloyd or Halliwell Jones.
My experience with my X5's recall…
My experience with my X5's recall airbag replacement at Stockport BMW was disappointing.
Upon picking up the car, I noticed that the interior panel had been badly scratched during the installation process. Additionally, I was promised a health check for the vehicle, which never took place.
Having to return the vehicle for panel repairs was inconvenient, especially considering it was due to their own negligence. To add to the inconvenience, I was assured that my taxi fares would be reimbursed, yet after submitting the receipts, I have yet to receive any payment.
It's frustrating that my emails regarding this matter have been ignored. If given the choice, I would recommend going to Trafford BMW instead of Stockport, as my experience there was much more satisfactory.
Avoid and buy from anyone else

After sales - nonexistent (apparently it will always be your sales advisors day off after the car is sold no matter what time or day you call. I wish I got this much holiday)
Safety - They will sell you an unsafe car but tell you they checked it and those safety features couldn’t possibly have left the show room broken!
Warranty - only if they don’t have to fix it otherwise there will be a technicality why it’s not covered or you will need to call a phone number repeatedly, get nothing fixed, until it’s out of warranty and they won’t backdate, no matter when or how many times you reported the issue (because who wants their £24k car to have all the features it came with an entire month later?!).
Fun fact, bmw even offered to renew my useless warranty at 3x the cost of warranty wise after the first year!
Expect whatever you buy to be broken, for them to claim it was your fault or that it’s not covered, and to largely be ignored once they have their money. Except possibly to charge you to check and confirm what you have already told them is broken.
Oooo, but if you pay off the finance in the second month, they will call you immediately to find out why.
I’d recommend big motoring world or car giant over these thieves, each car I’ve bought from those dealers has been faultless for years. This car (3 year old 3 series) didn't even make it home before I had to book it in for repair, and just broke more for the year I’ve owned it since.
BEWARE
WITHOUT PREJUDICE
I would advise that if you take your BMW to Williams Stockport take photos of the car once you leave at Williams Stockport.
I took my BMW X6 to have "vehicle call back" work carried out, which included replacing the front air bags.
The day before i delivered my X6 to Williams, 26/02/24, i personally valeted my X6 and took pictures, including the front windscreen. I drove the car myself to Williams and left it in one of their parking bays. Due to work commitments i could not collect the car until 01/03/24. On the day of collecting it was raining very heavily. When i arrived home and turned the wipers off i could see there was a crack in the windscreen on the lower right hand side. I immediately phoned Williams and spoke with the lady who was looking after my booking. She informed me that it was cracked when they took the car into the workshop and informed me that a video had been sent to me showing the crack. ADMITTING LATER NO VIDEO HAD BEEN SENT then she decided to send it while we were speaking. I would have thought maybe a phone call once they noticed the crack as they were doing the work in that area. I sent the photos that i had taken the day before showing there wasn't any cracks. I was then passed on to the service manager who explained that Williams BMW would not accept any liability and even went on to say the photos could not be believed. Even when i made the point that the crack is where the side airbag was replaced it was still a negative reaction. I felt as if he was insulting my intelligence. However he offered to pay the access to claim on my insurance.
When i had my windscreen replaced the fitter was a 100% that it was caused by pressure being applied from the interior against the windscreen as that was where the crack started, at the edge of the windscreen and travelled outwards. I didn't receive a reply when i informed the service manager of all the evidence that stacked up against Williams BMW Stockport.
When i collected my X6 on 01/03/04 other disappointments were, dirt on the carpets, passenger seat in the reclined position, radio tuned to another station, centre console open, things you do not expect from a main dealer. I feel that their policy is towards making sure there is plenty of amenities in the waiting area, eg refreshments.
I have been in the motor trade for 40 years and i know hand on heart that the windscreen WAS NOT CRACKED when i left my car. It wasn't even about the money as it's fully covered on my insurance.
As i wrote to the service manager, it's a bigger man that takes responsibility than a smaller man that hides behind untruths.
Unfortunately i can't leave a photo showing the crack next to the airbag
What can I day about this BMW dealer
What can I say about this BMW dealer. No morale compass. Just read the reviews here and you'll see I'm not alone. Aggressive sales tactics, promise and dont deliver. Not really BMW values. Please don’t feed feed their greedy pockets and look at other more reputable franchises. My used car was a total lemon and and they washed their hands of any responsibility. Had to settle out of court after they lied to the ombudsman
Wow!!!
Crooks and lies
Crooks. Lies. Don't buy from Williams Bolton - you have been warned.
Williams select Manchester
Bit of a long saga sadly… firstly bought a pick up truck as need a commercial vehicle for work. As expected when they want your money can’t be more helpful. 2 weeks after having the truck engine management light came on and it went into limp mode. Then I realised no warranty paperwork had ever been given to me or emailed as promised, which on reflection isn’t an issue as after ringing 20 garages no one would touch the warranty anyway!! The vehicle was off the road for a week with a DPF issue costing me £294 to sort out. I wrote to Williams select and heard nothing back. Few weeks later noticed black smoke from exhaust and a lack of power. Ring Williams who tell me to use warranty… another half day wasted phoning round lots of garages to be told they won’t touch the warranty. Speak to Williams again who get a garage to deal with the issue in Manchester so long as I can get the truck to them and they will give me a courtesy car.. which was a VW polo.. hardly like for like and created massive issues for me at work. Email send as still no reply from my letter. No reply to email. 3 weeks later the truck is all fixed and ready to pick up. 3 weeks is a long time you may think. That’s because Williams forgot to take it to the garage and missed the appointment so they had to re book. So I pick it up and drive it home. It’s worse!!! Did no one at Williams think maybe to test drive it before giving it back?? Eventually after seeking legal advice I arrange for them to buy the vehicle back off me.. so after it being off the road for 5 weeks and all the stress and hassle I’ve had with it the offer.. £1600 less than I paid 5 months before as I’d done 4k miles in a truck that never worked properly and had been off the road for 5 weeks! I had to take holiday time from work, loss of earnings plus the stress and hassle of having to drop it off and pick it up. No offer of any type of recompense other than the £300 back I paid 5 months before for the DPF issue . So before buying from this lovely shiny showroom have a think….
So the company asked me to email so they could get further details which I did and guess what!! A month or so later and still no reply!! I don’t now why I expected anything different

BMW Williams Trafford - Approved used cars
Great experience at Trafford, Anas was fantastic through out the process. He was quick to answer calls and to emails. We first visited the dealership last Saturday and on Friday we drove away in a nice car. Really appreciated the nice goodies. I would really recommend to anyone looking to buy a BMW to consider the Trafford dealership particular Anas. Great experience !
Great service over the last week from…
Great service over the last week from Manny, used car sales at the Stockport branch. Very professional, managed expectations and perks that make you feel valued. Fantastic service if you are close by and want an honest, respectful and transparent service. Definitely recommend to future car buyers. Thank Manny, love the X3 M40D!
A terrible experience
Picked up a brand new 2 series in July 2023. The vehicle encountered mechanical failure within 1 mile of leaving (stuff happens). What followed was a genuinely shocking experience of broken promises taking three months and escalation to the BMW UK / BMW DE CEO to resolve.
Williams body shop Stockport
I recently had a non fault accident, my car got taken in for repair and their service is amazing. They’re polite, helpful and very professional. They have also done an amazing job to my car, it looks as good as new! Thank you for your hard work!
Recently visited Williams BMW Stockport
Recently visited Williams BMW Stockport. I was booked in for a full service and inspection and told them that the SOS FAILURE light has came on and how much is that going to cost me because bmw motorrad done my bike for free when I took it to them, after they done the service they told me to collect the car when I picked it up the light was still on and when I asked them they said I have to rebook the car back in and its going to cost over £600 because it’s more than 7 hours labour and cost of the part. They had the part in stock what cost me £59.50 and when I went home it took me less than 5 minutes to install without any tools or computers
First and worst experience with BMW
I reserved my first car with BMW Manchester through the motability scheme. I reserved a BMW X2 and paid my deposit. I was told the order had been placed straight away and delivery expected in November. The next morning I recieve an email saying my order is cancelled as the car is not available. BMW made it out like this was due to Motability. However when I called Motability they advised BMW made the decision to pull the car as demand outweighed production. This would make sense for any new Motability customers. However you cannot cancel orders for those who have reserved the vehicle before it was pulled from the scheme as you have a duty to fulfill. Furthermore if I decided to take the car on PCP or cash they would still allow me to place a new order for a BMW X2. So discriminating against Motability customers. I was also told by Motability that the X2 was only removed temporarily so why cancel customers orders? Surely it makes more sense to stop any new orders but fulfill existing orders. Just seems like BMW are taking a cop out and misleading customers. Awful experience. Ive had Audis for years and never experienced anything like this. Called the branch manager and he didnt care so I’ve written to head office as I will be taking this further to the ombudsman as doesnt make sense and isnt legal.
BMW Stockport - Used Car Purchase
I initially went into the Stockport branch stating that I was looking to purchase a used BMW. I was almost immediately met with a Zach Siddy who took me through the differing model options, price range, etc. We did the deal there and then. The car was ordered for a subsequent pick-up date and despite there being a slight delay with this the pick-up time, Zach kept me informed throughout. Would have no hesitation returning to purchase again.

Just bought a BMW 330e touring from Nathan at Williams Trafford. Cannot fault the experience from first contact through to picking up the car. Nathan even stayed well after closing time because of a delay to my finance payment. He still took all the time I needed to go over the car and explain all the features. Highly recommended!
New car from Vijay
Just bought my 2nd car from Williams. 1st car 2 years ago was a nearly new car and had a good experience with that. 2nd was a new X5 which is a great car. I collected it last week from Vijay who was great throughout the process. Easy to contact, responsive to emails, easy to talk to when face to face. We had an enjoyable experience buying a car which is how it should be, but is not always the case.
