I was honestly a little wary of buying from Simply Log Cabins due to some of the negative reviews left here, however I am delighted to say that my experience was nothing but positive from start to finish.

From them storing my log cabin until I was ready for it (a few weeks while I built a custom insulated base), to delivery exactly when agreed, through to telephone guidance when I struggled to understand the admittedly complicated instruction manual when adjusting the door hinges (though this is from the manufacturer - Palmako - not Simply Log Cabins, and is really meant for tradsepeople rather than DIYers like me). The person I spoke to took all the time I needed to understand the instructions which they honestly didn't need to do.

I wanted to give this completely honest feedback as I really couldn't have expected a better service than I received and would definately use the company again (though I don't plan on building another summerhouse anytime soon:). Highly recommended.

Purchased the palmako iris log cabin and very happy with the quality of the wood supplied. The instructions supplied are not clear in respect of fitting the doors and window. After much struggling to complete these items I found that preassembled parts had been incorrectly fitted. The window lock was fitted the wrong way round so the handle wouldn't lock. The roof shingles are supplied without instructions but I found these online from the manufacturer.

The customer service provided by the company diminishes once they have received your balancing payment. I had trouble with the original delivery date given not being logged in their office which resulted in taking two days off work. I complained when the first delivery didn't turn up and was advised to claim compensation when the cabin was delivered. On doing so I was flatly refused any compensation for their mistake.
Overall a good product let down by poor customer service, haphazard pre assembly and inadequate assembly instructions.

Having recently purchased one of your log cabins and successfully installed it in my garden I offer some helpful tips for future purchasers.
1. Read the instructions carefully before you start.
2. Prepare the base so it is LEVEL as you can possibly make it (This is really important).
3. Coat all ALL pieces of wood with a good quality CLEAR decking oil before you put it together (Bought in bulk).
4. Once erected add a SECOND coat of decking oil to the inside for additional protection.
5. Apply at least TWO coats of wood preservative to the outside (I used Cuprinol - Willow - looks very nice.
6. Roofing - I recommend that you use a felt covering FIRST, followed by additional tiles. Not only does this look better but it provides extra safety against bad weather.
6. Don't rush putting your cabin up. Take your time and get it right. Worth it in the long run.

This feedback is related to an £8000+ purchase of a Bertsch Summer house. Bertsch is an excellent high quality European producer brand which are supplied to Simply log cabins as a third party seller. This company does not produce the product. The feedback is entirely related to the appalling customer service, poor management and the disgusting manner in which they treat their customers as soon as they have your money. We fully appreciate in these COVID times there is huge demand and production delays can happen. Thus, it is even more important the company who take your money keep you updated on your order, especially when delays happen.
We have now had to send in excess of 16 emails over a 4 month period to find any information on our order and delivery. Not once have the company contacted us without us chasing them first and you get a different person and answer almost every time.
Order placed 16/6/21 for delivery last week Aug / first week Sep
25/8/21 delivery now 2nd week Sep
15/9/21 delivery now 2nd half Sep
21/9/21 @ 14:01 delivery now 6/7th Oct
21/9/21 @ 16:41 factory to start production week commencing 4 Oct
22/9/21 Delivery now back to 6/7th Oct
This seems to be a common theme on other feedback left and clearly the company has done absolutely nothing to address this major weakness in their company’s communication with its customers and being upfront and honest about deliveries. We full expect the company to leave its usual gushing apologies, blaming everyone from the producer, weather to COVID. However, the simple fact is that it is their job as the supplier to always keep the customer up to date. We asked for a token gesture of goodwill on the final invoice to reflect the appalling service only to be told we had to pay the invoice in full and take delivery and then they may (MAY!) consider some sort of compensation. In summary, there are many suppliers / online sites that offer these premium European log company brands. If you want an honest hassle-free transaction and delivery, we would absolutely suggest you avoid this company with a long bargepole, they do not deserve your custom.

Update:

The delivered log cabin came with the wrong design windows / doors, Simply log cabins mixed up the order, blamed on a new member of staff. 11 days after delivery no sign of the promised gesture of goodwill / compensation, no real surprise.

Update 2. The company tried to claim our review was false and against Trustpilot policy to get it removed (Trustpilot reviewed and rejected their claim), perhaps they should focus their attention and efforts on improving customer service and correctly addressing complaints rather than trying to hide / delete honest feedback.

Very easy to place the order and delivery was on the date advised. They delivery was efficient and helpful.

The shed is great quality and very easy to erect. It’s completely waterproof and looks great.

Great service and will order again.

Just recently purchased Palmako Melanie 44mm double glazed windows and doors from Simply Log Cabins. Took 1 1/2 days to build the quality is fantastic. No problems at all dealing with the Company were very helpful and delivered on time, as promised. We were apprehensive due to the reviews but it would appear people tend to write reviews when they are not happy as apposed to being satisfied.

We bought a Palmako Lee log cabin advertised with full assembly instructions
Despite repeated requests we have never received full instructions - the ones sent did not include the fitting of bifold doors - which are difficult to install
What was sent was poor and challenging to follow
The company sent a professional fitter to install the doors and he agreed they were difficult to fit and that the instructions sent to us were inadequate and in one material respect actually wrong
We still have parts that we do not know where they go and Simply Log Cabins will not respond.
The delivery was good.

Purchase and delivery of Eurovudas Dover Log Cabin for the Melville Club (Social Club). Our experience was very good indeed. The delivery date was as promised and we were notified in plenty of time to organise a work party to unload it. The delivery driver was excellent and exceedingly helpful which took the stress out of the process. One small omission was dealt with immediately with next day service. Very pleased with the quality and final appearance of the building. Excellent. Thanks.

Ordered Norland Alexandra log cabin 6th March with a 6-12 week delivery, then told 8-16 week delivery after contacting them to see where my cabin was. It's now been 18 weeks and after lots of phone calls, constantly chasing my order as no one ever updates you on delays, I have now been told the end of July which will be 20 weeks. Every time I ring they say it's due to leave the factory any day now, which has been for the last 4 weeks, it obviously isn't I have a base made to the exact measurements and are going to struggle to find one like this. Customer service is terrible, my kids are upset. Looks like a refund now and to start again.

Worst product I've ever bought .flimsy roof felt..door strip warped...3 of the 6door hinges bent .gaps with tounge and groove between frame and windows..worth probably£500 but not the £764 I paid. 7x7 corner summerhouse

Ordered a cabin on the 14th January 2021. The estimated delivery date was 6-10 weeks but with some leaway because of Covid and Bexit. 26 weeks later we are still waiting even a delivery date. We have contacted the company 7 times in the last month alone, and despite promises each time that someone would call us back only on one occasion has that happened. we were told on the 4th of June that our cabin was on the shop floor ready to be loaded and that they would mark it as urgent as we were one of the last January orders that was outstanding. The company can still not tell me when it will be shipped. On my last call on the 2nd July I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that they would get someone to call me back. Three days and a weekend later I am still waiting. In brief shocking customer service, they will never call you back and will fob you off with excuses about Covid and Brexit and about how it is to be shipped shortly. Avoid at all costs time to ask for a refund and start again. Simply log cabins expect my call in the morning I am fed up being ignored and will take my custom else where.

Placed order end March with expected delivery of 6-10 weeks. Was told at 6 weeks that we would receive end June/beginning July. Then was told yesterday that delivery would be mid July. Today they have changed their story again and said that our goods were not on last weeks shipment from their supplier so now likely to be end August. This is ridiculous! They have had our money and don’t seem to be going out of their way to fulfil the order or communicate with us. So angry right now and wish I had read the reviews and ordered from someone else!

This is my second review and now feeling extremely frustrated with this company. I ordered a Scotland 1 Corner Summer House on 13th April as it had a guaranteed delivery of 21 days. It is now 12 weeks later and I'm still waiting. They have twice advised me that it is "due to leave our factory this week" but it doesn't appear to have left so far. What is REALLY annoying me now is that on their website today it is advertising this log cabin with delivery in 4 to 6 weeks. Unbelievable!! Please do not trust their timescales as they are completely unreliable.
Hopefully my Summer House will arrive eventually but I'm not holding out much hope.

We ordered a cabin at the end of March and paid a deposit. We were told about 12 weeks for delivery. It is now 13 weeks.
We have been told that the cabin will now come at the end of July! Or is that hypothetical!
What irks us is that these people have no communication skills. They have never been in touch to apologise for delay. All it takes is a phone call.
We have paid a substantial amount for insulation which is idling in the garage. We have spent a lot of money on preparing a base. We have also arranged not to go away in our caravan so that we put the cabin up.
We feel very much 'in the air' not knowing when it is coming.

Their contact skills are non existent.
We have been to America a lot and you get better service than this if you buy a coffee! they fall over themselves to help you in the shops too.

Having ordered from another company back in February and being fobbed off for months I needed to find an alternative, I found simply log cabins and messaged to ask if the cabin they have for sale was dimensionaly identical to the one I'd built the foundations for already. They confirmed that although the cabin wasn't the same, the footprint was identical.

Unfortunately it wasn't identical and having spent an additional 2k on the purchase price from the first supplier it was a bit of a shock to have to adjust the base to match.

Having said that, the cabin was of good quality, a few warped logs that needed some serious wrestling to position but other than that all it is good so far.

Delivery was excellent, the driver of the lorry parked up the road and used the fork lift to position it perfectly on the drive out of the way.

Please note the instructions are horrendous, as in an overall view of how it should look when complete but no guide on how to get there. For example there is a huge bag of fasteners but at no point does it say which one should be used where..

I'd happily of given 5 stars if the footprint had of matched the one I asked them to compare against and the instructions were a little more detailed.

Happy with our purchase, delivered 2 weeks ago (a few weeks late) and now constructed in its place with just shingle to apply. The delivery was very smooth and it comes very well-packaged. I (modest DIY skills) built with my neighbour (advanced skills) and it was not without challenges as instructions are generic in one booklet and a little bit sketchy in other ways. Add finish to roof panels off-square and some warping of timbers to problem-solve and it is not for inexperienced DIY builders...someone needs know-how to conclude the build well. It looks great up and painted with its 2 coats of base-coat, wonderful space, light, ventilation and aesthetic appearance inside...family and friends feedback is very positive.

We bought a Lugarde Jeffry cabin which has proved to be excellent quality and a very attractive addition to our garden. The optional factory applied protective finish is highly recommended. I would have given a 5 star review but for the difficulty with Simply Log cabins in obtaining up to date delivery information . The cabin was expertly delivered directly from the Dutch manufacturers albeit three weeks late !

My husband ordered a log cabin middle of March from this company, paid a substantial deposit and were told 6 to 8 weeks delivery. Twice we have had to contact the company to find out where it is ( not even a courtesy call from them to advise us on delays or when it might be delivered ) and today when we enquired got told it hasn't even left Portugal yet and won't be until 15th July......really disappointed!!

Great service with updates and advise all the way.
