Avoid at all costs. Charging £20 to return a £50 item is ridiculous. Zero sense of customer loyalty. Add in long wait times and poor service — I won’t be buying from here again.

No issue at all. I read the reviews after placing my large order of Villeroy and Boch plates, and was slightly worried! However all arrived intact, properly packaged and as described within 7 days.

This company is a total scam and horrible faulty products

This company is a total scam, awful awful faulty low quality products. The product arrived faulty and broken and for £160 it’s such low quality I couldn’t believe it! Have been trying to get a refund or a response for 2 months and instead receive stupid jargon long worded emails about this search for a solution??? Don’t buy from this company the products are AWFUL the worst

Appalling customer service - cant return items

Purchased 3 items, trying to return. 2 weeks and 10 emails later - no response on how to return an item.

Avoid, they are a scam, appalling and non-existent customer service - I will never use them again.

Zero comunication

I would strongly advise against buying from them. I’m still waiting for my refund and I’m very disappointed.

APPALLING customer service

There was an issue with the item received, it has been 4 days that I have been trying to contact them. No reply. This is appalling customer service

EDIT: after I posted the review, quickly got a generic support email (!), asking me for pictures that weren't relevant. I replied and no answer yet after another 4 days. I'm glad you take the time to reply to your reviews with another generic comment but not to your customers who are stuck with faulty pricy bulky items in their home

I have orderd a Vase from Royaldesign…

I have orderd a Vase from Royaldesign UK a while ago as it was supposed to be a birthday gift for my mother. When I ordered it it showed express / next day 5£ extra. So I booked this as I was travleling by the end of the week and I assumed it should arrive in time. However when I received the email it only told me it was fast tracked and was shipped now but delivery would be the following week. To late. I couldnt cancel it anymore as it was already handed over to the delivery company. I then realsied that Royaldesign UK has nothing to do with the items coming out of the UK but from Sweden. To have a gift in time I then ordered it to be shipped to Germany to have it in time and paid additional for a 2nd Vase thinking no problem I will send the other back. ONce I got back I had emailed customer servive who came back to me one week later. Hellas I did not pick up on the email at once and this is my fault but I left it to late to return it. However I saw that returning it would cost me 20£ as it had to be shipped back to Sweden and not as one would thing UK as the website shows. I am sometimes confused why companies have to pretend to be in the UK when the merchendise comes from Europe. Anyway I left it to long as life happend. I emailed them say so sorry can I still return it although it was past the return policy. Which I get and of course totally understand that it would not be accepted. Anyway 4 days later the email was received very short in wording and not much room. I then emailed back and told them about my experience and of course I had hoped to have some conversation ect. Anyway today I received feedback after again a couple of days with a very minimalistic answer. Sorry you are unhappy and thank you for your feedback. I thought wow what a customer servie. I was surprised they answered in general as this was so useless as it can be. No compasion nor nothing. I work in high end retail and I can only say this experience left me really unimpressed and I would have to think really hard to order again from this website!!!!!!!!!

My sofas never arrived

My sofas never arrived! Royal Design use Fedex for delivery so beware. I cannot comment on furniture quality because after a month since payment I have still not seen the product. Apparently the sofas arrived in UK within 3 days but have been sat in a Bristol Fedex depot ever since. I suggest always using a credit card on large orders so you have added protection.

Misleading product description and unresponsive customer support

Purchased an outdoor rug that turned out to be unsuitable for usage outdoors (retaining huge amounts of water long time after rain). Customer service not responding to questions about returning it after the original packaging was discarded

Poor return process

Extensive products at good prices but I had an unsatisfactory experience when attempting to return an item. You have to email to arrange a return, you can't arrange it on the website. It was ten days before I got a reply, which was worrying. When the reply came there was no apology for the long delay. Then you have to contact FedEx yourself to arrange the pick -up. Also returns are expensive at £19 as you are shipping back to Sweden. I won't be ordering from them again.

Save yourself the headache and trouble…

Save yourself the headache and trouble and DO not order from this company. It’s a front for a tiny operation. It will take them at the very least 2 weeks to respond to an email and god forbid you have to return something. For a 270 pound product the return fee is 150 - many better local options that give you flexibility and half decent customer service.

Do not use this company

Do not use this company! They are worse than a Chinese rip off company! I questioned the quality of the cushion fabric on a sofa I bought as it crackles like it’s got incontinence plastic liner inside which is really off putting and surely not normal! They refused to respond for 4 WEEKS! I decided after 1 week of repeatedly trying to communicate with customer service not to return it as I truly doubted I would ever get my money back on an expensive sofa which they would have charged me £150 to return anyway! Finally they respond today saying it’s normal (to them obviously) and that it will improve with time. No apology. I originally wanted the large armchair to go with my sofa, will not be buying anything from them again! I did not expect this from a Swedish company! Complete pirates! Communication is key. End of the day the sofa is very poor quality for the price just like their service! Utterly frustrating and disappointing!

Been waiting for 1 month for a refund

Customer service said on 24th of July that the refund was processed and it was gonna take 10 business days to land at my account. It has been ONE MONTH now and they just emailed today and said the case is under their claims department’s review???

Royal Design should not be allowed to operate if they can’t even get the simplest thing done.

All they do was a stalling tactic by saying ‘as soon as possible’ instead of an ETA when asked multiple times

Terrible delivery experience and poor customer support for a product delivered broken

I ordered a Ray Media console but it arrived damaged.

Delivery experience even before that was terrible - they arrived 2 days earlier than they said they would and there is no option to deliver to your door (even for heavy furniture) - just curbside delivery. I could not carry the package up the stairs myself.

Customer service after was terrible. They said it would take more than 30 days to review the claim (meaning if they said we don't believe this is our fault I could miss the return window). Their live customer chat does not handle product faults at all! Makes me wonder what the point of the live customer chat is! Every other retailer in the UK is so much faster at dealing with complaints (e.g. Amazon within the day)

After waiting three weeks for a refund

After waiting three weeks for a refund. I have been told they sent the items regardless. they now want me to send them back before I get refund on 3 parasols. No contact number that works, ignored for a week at a time, no one to speak with. Never use this company ever. They have and plenty of opportunity to put this right, but they haven't. I am still waiting for my refund.

Faulty goods delivered

Faulty goods delivered.
Took over 2 months to get them to accept this and then returned goods. They then did not refund the postage and packing which I now given up on.
Terrible experience and all very time consuming. Avoid.

Damaged goods delivered

Damaged goods delivered. Clearly an ex display sofa mattress. I contact them immediately to let them know. I have contacted them approximately 6 times in two weeks and all means of communication is ignored
I resorted to complaining via Instagram and noticed it is endless messages from people complaining. I’m beginning to think this is a fraudulent company. Is this typical Danish customer service? Keep your money folks and avoid this company.

A large bergs pot arrived damaged…

A large bergs pot arrived damaged unfortunately, it could probably of used more bubble wrap.

Judging by the 1 star reviews I wouldnt really bother leaving an email as they do tell you they are gonna take a while. I had contacted them through the 24/7 chat. That put me through to someone Alice was the best and sorted it out really well. Got an email with my refund and all was sorted really quickly.

Really enjoyed £12 off as a new member, I think fedEx is probably not the best company for delivering things but oh well what can you do. Overall a really trustworthy great company!

Absolutely awful customer service

Absolutely awful customer service. Wanted to return my items as they arrived damaged. It took 6 weeks for them to send me the correct returns form and each time I emailed they took 5 days to reply. Refund took 2 months all in all. Do not use!

Here we go again…

A second delivery of a previously ordered item (which arrived broken), this time it arrived broken too.

I asked their delivery driver to wait whilst i check the delivery, he refused and said if there is any problems it’s not his, deal with where i ordered.

I opened it up to find it smashed again. I email immediately on the Friday (no response), 3 days later i send a follow up chasing a response - nothing. Two days later here we are again I have a box of rubble in my house, terrible service and no solution 5 days in, finger crossed i get a resolution soon.

Don't take a day off for delivery.

Got a text confirming delivery, took the day off work (so unpaid)... text said I'd get charged £30 for redelivery so though better not risk it... and my bed never arrived. They can't make up their mind why, one email said someone tried to deliver and I wasn't home and someone else said it wasn't ever scheduled so all in all, really annoyed. And to lie.. just awful customer service.

They don't care I lost out on income. My bed did finally arrive. Looks fine, just wouldn't order from a heartless company again.
