No issue at all. I read the reviews after placing my large order of Villeroy and Boch plates, and was slightly worried! However all arrived intact, properly packaged and as described within 7 days.

Good online shopping experience
I ordered two Kay Bojesen wooden figures last week, on sale at a really good price. The order was straightforward and the items have arrived in confirmed delivery time of a few days and in perfect condition. Very happy with my purchase.
£19 return fee
There was a lengthy delay in my order arriving. There were some products which I wanted to return and began the return process only to find there is a £19 charge to return small and medium items. Good luck if you have something bigger because that will cost you £150! This is not made clear when ordering.

Not buying from Royal Design again
While they sell interesting items at reasonable prices, the overall experience was frustrating. Delivery took forever to happen, since FedEx didn't deliver in the timeslot initially allocated, meaning you basically need to be home the whole day waiting for them. There's also no option to pick up the parcel from elsewhere or have it delivered over the weekend. This makes it quite difficult for those of us who work full-time.
On top of that, the packaging wasn't secure at all: the box arrived half-opened and, although no items were missing, the shampoo I had ordered had spilled onto the other items.

Item never arrived & no comms from them
Item never arrived and I didn't even get a confirmation email after my payment was taken! After emailing them asking about the order I received no reply - do not use this merchant they are rubbish!! Have had to open a dispute with my bank to get a refund - annoying because it's Xmas time so could really do with the money now.

Damaged Goods + No Customer Service
I am absolutely furious about my order I’ve received. Royal Design packaged extremely fragile bowls on top of each other with no cushioning, just a tiny thin piece of brown paper which provides no support - which has resulted in one of each product I bought arriving shattered after an extremely long delivery time from Sweden. There is zero bubble wrap in this order which was sent it internationally to the UK with very fragile items. However the same type and brand of plates I ordered came in individual cardboard boxes for protection - so I’m utterly confused why they would pack the item in such pathetic way. Absolutely Shocking. I am now also concerned that the structural integrity of the other bowls below are compromised.
On top of this, I tried to use their online form to send off my claim request and it simply did not work. I then had to write everything out again in email - and over 3 working days later and still zero response from their customer service leaving me in a difficult position in the Christmas period.
Given I’m a first time customer, I would heavily advise everyone to avoid Royal Design - unless you enjoy stress and disappointment.

Absolutely useless!
Six months after buying a lamp which arrived without adequate charger, 15 emails, many photos and videos later, I still can not charge the lamp!!! Are there even real people working in this company? Does anyone actually read the emails? Why does it take over a week to reply? Why can’t they just sort the charger??? Or give me my money back and get rid of the problem… but no, they keep asking for the same information, same photos, same videos and no one actually looks at any of it. I can only recommend not to deal with with this company.

I purchased a lamp over three weeks ago Royal design uses FedEx who attempted to deliver during the day while I was at work with no option to leave it or pick up and after seven at times FedEx stop trying and I asked for a refund to watch the customer service people haven’t responded in a week

An Absolute Circus of a Company — Avoid Royal Design at All Costs
If I could give Royal Design zero stars, I would. My experience has been nothing short of astonishing in the worst possible way.
I placed my order in May for an August delivery as the item was not in stock but I still had to pay. Well, August came and went with no updates, no communication, nothing. I chased them—several times—and only then was I casually informed that the new estimate was November. Again, no proactive updates, no explanation.
When I chased again (because of course they didn’t contact me), I was met with the most useless, non-answers imaginable:
• “They were expected to arrive then, but unfortunately I cannot confirm that they have arrived yet.”
• “It seems that the items have been delayed once again. But we have no new estimated delivery date.”
• “The delivery information we’ve given is based on what we get from the supplier… we haven't gotten great updates from the supplier.”
So basically: zero responsibility, zero accountability, zero customer service.
Meanwhile, they’ve been sitting on my money for months. Not a shred of concern for the inconvenience, the delays, or the fact that customers depend on the products they purchase.
Their “solution”?
Cancel your order.
As if that magically compensates for months of wasted time, terrible communication, and an experience that feels more like dealing with the Wild West than a professional retailer.
To make matters worse, there’s no real complaints process, no escalation, no sense that anyone in the company is accountable for anything. Just a string of vague excuses and a shrug.
Save yourself the frustration and shop elsewhere.

ABYSMAL! I buy what I think is a small side table but after a couple of months waiting, I only receive the top. I ask if there is a delivery issue? It takes a long time to find out that no, I apparently misunderstood their website and only bought the top! Now I must pay more for the bottom! And if I wish to return it, then they will charge me £150 when I paid £160 in the first place! What on earth is this company? Their online chat is not working. Nobody answers the phone. Their email responses take ages and then they only answer half of what you ask them. This feels like a scam.

Delvd faulty lamp then ghosted me
I ordered an expensive lamp that arrived in perfect condition (so no damage during transit) but when I went to turn it on, I realised it was faulty and wouldn’t turn on. These things happen, but I reached out to customer service weeks ago and I’ve heard NOTHING from them. Very, VERY poor customer service for a luxury brand retailer. I now have a Louis poulsen lamp that doesn’t turn on that cost me hundreds 😥 I wouldn’t order from this company again for that reason and if I don’t hear from them soon, I plan to report the company as this is actually illegal.

Broken items arrived
Ordered a set of plates from this store for my wife Bday, as she was desperate for Villeroy and Boch tableware.
The order was above 300 pounds and we both were super excited.
However, when the box has arrived and we opened it, to our big disappointment 4 items were smashed and moreover nothing was protected in the bubble wrap (this is a miracle that out of 20 pieces only 4 was shamed.
My wife had a terrible evening as she was crying and nothing I could do about it.
I contacted Royal Design and received automatic response that I will be contacted within 48 hours and nothing happened after that and still didn't get any news from them.
If any representative reads this comment, CONTACT ME ASAP, AS I NEED A REPLACEMENT!!!!

Ordered an armchair that they had 4 of 'in stock'…
Ordered an armchair that they had 4 of 'in stock', and a matching footstool. The footstool came on the expected delivery date (a few days after ordering it). The armchair still hasn't come. Some customer service agents tell me it got lost at the warehouse and it will come 6 weeks after I ordered it. Some tell me it's at the warehouse being packed right now. The order number shows me no tracking information. When they say something is 'in stock', it likely is not. This company is at least a shambles or potentially a scam. If you can order from other sites, I would highly recommend doing so. I currently have no armchair, no idea if it will ever turn up, and no idea if I will ever get a refund if it doesn't.
I can see that they reply to these with generic apologies, never really fixing anything. Which says a lot about how they operate.
UPDATE: they replied via email after I wrote this review, saying there was a technical error in the warehouse and that they had done all they could to get it shipped that day. 1 week later, no updates, no more information.

Don't order from the store
Don't order from the store. They charge a £20 return fee, regardless of how much an item cost. I wanted to return one of the (many) items I had ordered and exchange it for a different size. They didn't do exchanges nor waived the shipping fee for that occasion. So I had to pay £20 to return an item that cost me £70, so 30% of the price. Bad costumer policy and hard to accept given today's market standards.

Please avoid this scam company
Please avoid this scam company. I ordered 2 months ago for an item in stock. My delivery date kept slipping and now another week past the last updated time for it to be in their warehouse. No updating unless pushed and then you get fobbed off with it slips a week again and again.

Do not buy from this company
I have been trying to return a faulty item for 5 weeks. I have not yet been sent a returns label and, of course, haven't received a refund. Emails are usually just ignored and, if they do reply, it's just a holding response.
I would strongly advise against buying from this company.

Can’t return a product

This company is a total scam, awful awful faulty low quality products. The product arrived faulty and broken and for £160 it’s such low quality I couldn’t believe it! Have been trying to get a refund or a response for 2 months and instead receive stupid jargon long worded emails about this search for a solution??? Don’t buy from this company the products are AWFUL the worst
