Shoddy behaviour
Rattan Direct accepted an order from me in August 2025. After taking payment from my credit card, they told me they did not have the items in stock and were unable to fulfil the order. I was told that the items would be available in February 2026. I did not receive any notification that Rattan Direct had gone into administration. I chased the order in March, and have now been told that the new owners will not refund my money and will not fulfil my order (even though the website is still using the Rattan Direct name and is still offering the same items for sale).
Please don't bother with the standard reply telling me that you appreciate that this is frustrating and thanking me for my understanding. I consider it pretty shoddy really.
New owners, worse service.
I'm starting to get the garden ready for summer, and upon getting my Ascot furniture cushions out of the cellar I decided they could do with replacing. I couldn't see a replacement set on the website so I phoned customer services where I was told that cushions are no longer sold separately. Apparently there's new owners (ATM Retail) since January of this year and they have decided to only sell the full furniture sets. The customer service agent also wouldn't give me the name of their supplier in order that I could try and obtain a set directly as this was "private information", and she couldn't advise of any other retailers who might have cushions for sale. So beware, if you buy a new furniture set from Rattan Direct you will not be able to replace the cushions (or the glass table top, as I had to a couple of years ago under the old ownership). Very disappointed.

The company entered administration
The company entered administration in November 2025 and has not issued refunds to customers who placed orders prior to that date. Despite this, sales appear to have continued and the website remained active. This raises serious concerns about how the situation has been handled and the company’s standards of business practice. If you order from this company, don't trust that you will receive your goods, or a refund.

Aston 9 seater set
We took delivery of an Aston 9 seater set for our holiday let in West Wales. Byron and the team at Rattan Direct were very helpful and organised a prompt delivery so that the set was available for our guests by the required date. The assembly was straightforward (all the parts are well numbered and a useful ratchet tool is provided). The instructions were clear and easy to follow.. The assembly took a few hours - there are some 85 bolts to put in! but there were no problems. The set looks great. Time will tell how it fares in the holiday let in the harsh West Wales climate, but it does come with a 2 year guarantee.

Very bad service, office chair we brought the arm rests were lose, even after we tighten the screws up, we sent 3 emails to them plus 2 complaimts on thier own home page. we still have not heard from them after 3 months.

I bought some patio furniture last year and found that two of the items were a different colour. I contacted Rattan Direct, in October last year, and was told they would replace the items in December. They didn’t. I have subsequently been informed that the company went into administration in December 2025 and the company that the company now trading as Rattan Direct will not assist me further.
Just be aware that the reviews for Rattan Direct prior to November 2025 refer to the old company.
When I contacted them in October 2025 customer service must have known they were going into administration and therefore fobbed me off. The quality of the furniture is no better than that from many companies, but at twice the price. Beware.

After 4 months I’m still waiting for a refund for an item I returned to this firm. They acknowledged receipt in September but have not replied to my recent emails.
This company have been truly awful
This company have been truly awful. They missed my delivery date, then sent part order and I was then told they had lost the rest. So I chose another set. They promised me a £50 refund IN JUNE LAST YEAR. Despite many emails to and from this dreadful company, I am still waiting. I would avise any prospective buyers to AVOID!

Back in early November I left a review hoping—perhaps naively—that a Christmas miracle might finally prompt Rattan Direct to refund the money they’ve been holding for over 15 months.
Spoiler: nothing happened.
Maybe Father Christmas has my money. Maybe I’m on the naughty list. All I know is that this company has had my cash since September 2024, promised I was on the “credit run” for payment within 30 days in early September, and yet here we are… still nothing.
For context:
I ordered Sorrento replacement cushions in September 2024 with an agreed delivery date of March 2025. March came and went, followed by April, May, and August—each accompanied by a new excuse.
At one point they even claimed delivery had taken place and sent photos as “proof”… except the address wasn't even my house. Customer service later admitted the address was randomly generated!
Enough was enough, I formally requested a refund in August 2025. Since then it’s been the same script on repeat:
“Our systems are updating”
“You’re in the queue”
“Please wait a few more days”
No refund. No meaningful update. No accountability.
At this stage, it genuinely appears the company may be in serious financial difficulty or heading towards administration, as they seem unable—or unwilling—to return funds to the original payment card.
My advice:
Ask yourself carefully if you really want to order from this company
Avoid anything marked “back order”
Do not rely on refund promises
Always pay by credit card so you have protection through your bank
What was once a reputable business now feels, at best, deeply broken—and at worst, like a company trading while unable to meet basic obligations.
Proceed with extreme caution!!!!!!!!!!!

So glad I informed my card provider of problem when I did and they issued my refund as despite all the promises made by this company they had no intention of refunding me and I'd probably still be waiting and chasing them still.
So anybody awaiting a refund I would just advise go straight to your provider and commence charge back.
And anyone thinking of making purchase think twice before doing so.How can a company in administration still be actively selling?Are they just clearing all the old rubbish they got left?

AVOID - THIEVING COMPANY
Placed an order via e-mail, (interacted with a member of staff), with this company for some replacement lounger cushions in May 2025, they didn't tell me they were out of stock. I have chased them on numerous occasions, each time telling me they had been delayed but would be delivered. Got through the whole of the summer without the delivery. In October, after chasing yet again, I was informed that they wouldn't be coming in and a refund would be processed. 16th December I am still waiting for my refund and they are no longer responding to my e-mails. They are thieves - avoid at all costs!

There is no customer service support or sales team when you call, it keeps rings and then cuts you off.
I am still waiting for a refund it's now been 5months and still no response. One of the cover sheet sent is incorrect size and still waiting to hear back to send the correct size.

Avoid like the plague
I placed an order in March and another in April. The first order didn’t arrive until late August, and when it finally did, there were several issues with the items. At that time, customer services were at least responding and attempting to resolve things.
However, the second order still hadn’t arrived by September. I emailed to formally cancel the order, which was acknowledged, and I received further emails stating that my refund was being processed. Despite many emails since then, and various excuses about their refund systems being updated, I still have not received my refund. To make matters worse, they now no longer respond to any communication by phone or email.
The company is still trading, but based on my experience, I would strongly advise against ordering from them if you actually want to receive your product. I have now had to pay to take the matter to small claims court, as I am still owed nearly £400.
It’s a shame — this was once a wonderful company, and I’ve bought numerous items from them over the past 10 years. Unfortunately, they are now a shadow of their former selves. Don’t part with your hard-earned money.
