Just plain rude they not only laugh at me but made me feel uncomfortable from the time I walked into your store. I just want some shoes.

Purchased a pair of Vans. Wore for three weeks while overseas and they split open. Returned to Platypus Shoes but as they were purchased more than 30 days ago they will not exchange. They claimed as the split was not on a seam it is wear and tear. Tried to discuss with client services but have no number to contact.

Online order delivered looking like it was 10 years old.
The box was smashed, the packaging inside was ripped and looked like they had picked it up off the floor. The shoes were fine but everything else was stuffed. When I spoke to a "Simon" online, her just said return it. When I mentioned I couldn't as it was a gift I had to give in a few days, I never got a response from Simon again.

My mother ordered light up Sketchers for my son from Christmas 2024, and imagine her surprise when Platypus sent her a pair of plain Sketchers school shoes.
By this time, it was only days before Christmas and the "customer service" (and I use that term loosely as there was no service provided) representative I spoke to was rude, beligerent and offered absolutely no help or solutions other than "yeah, I guess your son isn't getting his Christmas present this year, hahaha".
My mother tried to return the shoes in store, however they wouldn't accept the return, so we organised a return and posted them back and she went to another store to purchase them. It is now EIGHT MONTHS LATER and she is still to receive her refund for the light up shoes that Platypus did not send.

Ordered online and then got an email 30mins later saying that they were out of stock and a refund has been processed and I would receive the funds in 3-5 business days. Check online again and see the same product still showing as available. I wonder how many people have ordered and then been refunded. Meanwhile that cash is sitting in their account. Seems a little odd to me. Disappointing.

I was in the Southland store today when the sales assistant took ages to approach, gave me the wrong colour shoes before checking if that was ok abd walking away.
The next one in the shop claimed the display shoes get rotated weekly even though I felt a drastic size change in my feet.
I was told they had no more size up fit me in any colour after they told be how hard they were to get a hold of.
I asked her to write the style, she said take a photo.. offered me no info about when new stock was coming and barely said bye! So rude and unhelpful! Totally unprofessional - both girls. I was disgusted and would never buy from there! .

I purchased a pair of Vans Knu Stack from Platypus Shoes Online.
Everything seemed ok, customer service and speedy delivery.
I opened the shoebox and one of the shoes had been worn and had fluff from socks inside it.
The shoe was obviously a display shoe at one stage and the shoebox had crushed, yellow stained with age white tissue paper.
This is out of line, offensive, disrespectful and unhygienic.
Customer service have not responded, therefore, the matter will be referred to the Department of Fair Trading.
Do NOT do business with these dishonest people.
You'll only end up disappointed with used, worn shoes

Everything was great until you submit the order. Address entered correctly, but not printed on label. Paid for express delivery - 7 days and counting. Not a courier problem. If you want your item - shop elsewhere

The worst store ever for shoes. They have such amazing staff and great advertisements online but whenever I visited this store to get a pair of shoes I walked out disappointed. Either they won't have the color you looking for or the size would be unavailable. This has happened many times and it's the worst...

I bought online and received it, and was satisfied with it, but it's a bit small for my feet. I was originally undecided between size 8 or 9 but trusted their websites size selection chart and went for size 8.

So, I head to their local store for assistance. They refunded me first then they told me they can't sort out the order and I have to do it myself. This means I have to pay the shipping again, which is contrary to what they state in their website, "Free endless aisle guarrantee".

I have emailed them after to get further assistance. No reply.

Then, few days after, I got the automated email about requesting a product review. I rated them low and copy pasted my issue. Then I got an email saying they didn't accept my review! So essentially, they must be accepting only positive reviews!

Not going to buy here again. I should have researched first before buying.

I WENT INTO THE GREENHILLS STORE ON WEDNESDAY 28-05-25 LATE AFTERNOON NEAR CLOSING TIME. THERE WERE 2 GIRLS THAT HELPED ME, ONE WAS THE 2ND IN CHARGE AND BOTH GIRLS HELPED WITH MY ORDER. I HAVE TO SAY WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH THERE SERVICE CONSIDERING IT WAS CLOSE TO CLOSING TIME. THEY WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND. COULDNT EXPRESS HOW HELPFUL THEY WERE AND HANDS UP TO THE STAFF AT GREENHILL

WILL SHOP HERE KNOWING SERVICE IS BRILLIANT

I wish I weren't even able to give Platypus 1 star. Platupus Shoes sent me the wrong pair of shoes from and online express delivery (more expensive) order, when I requested support they ignored my emails. Only when I reached out via their chat function on their website did they let me know it was not in their policy to exchange or send the right shoes. the only option they gave me was to return the wrong shoes. I also purchased the shoes on express delivery as I had an event I needed them for and to this, they also responded that they would not refund me for the shoes or my delivery costs. DO NOT SHOP HERE. I am amazed at their disgusting customer service and policies. They were the ones that stuffed up and refused to rectify things. All I wanted was to be sent the right pair of shoes which is what I paid for! Now I am stuck bearing the cost of their stuff up.

Purchased two pairs of shoes for my son at Christmas, but they were one size too small. He returned to the store with both pairs, unworn with the receipt to get the next size up. Because we had purchased in a pre-Christmas sale, they made him pay the difference as the shoes were no longer on sale.
Pretty sure that is illegal.
Will purchase elsewhere from now on.

I recently had a disappointing experience at the Penrith store with a pair of New Balance shoes I purchased in November. The elastic that holds the shoelace on one shoe had frayed and snapped after only six wears. Despite bringing the shoes back with the receipt, the shop assistant refused to exchange or repair them, claiming the damage was caused by tying the laces too tightly.

I explained that I had worn the same model in a different colour just as often, without any issues. However, the assistant insisted it was my fault, basing her judgment on a quick glance and stating, "I can see from how the laces are." She did not offer any meaningful assistance beyond suggesting I tie my shoes less tightly and offering new laces.

I also reached out to Platypus Shoes’ customer service team and was told that in-store decisions could not be overridden. While I appreciate the prompt response, it feels dismissive to rely entirely on a five-second in-store inspection for a product that should last longer than three months with minimal wear.

I paid $189 for these shoes based on the recommendation of a staff member, who highlighted their durability. For that price, I expected them to last much longer without issues, especially as they were worn casually for short periods. The lack of resolution or willingness to repair or replace the faulty product has left me very disappointed.

I hope Platypus Shoes reconsiders its approach to customer service and quality assurance, as this experience has been far below expectations.

Poor quality control on shoes sent via post.
Obvious stitching error but have been told I must go instore and have them inspected to prove it. Total waste of time and money.. wouldn’t recommend having items sent out as they don’t care what they are sending.

Hopeless customer service. Prices on the website don't match in-store. Regular issues with website pricing once you've added an item to your cart. Raising a query with their support team basically goes into a black hole. I'm raising my concerns with the commerce commission.

Worst experience ever. I bought some Crocs for my daughter. They didn't have her size in-store, so delivery was arranged from another store. It's now day 27 since I received the order confirmation and tracking number (on Nov 20). The only contact I've had with them is me emailing and asking about where my order is, and them giving me an empty response "please allow 3–6 business days" for delivery on Nov 28, "please allow 1–4 business days" for us to get back to you on Dec 9, and again "please allow 1–4 business days" on Dec 17. I have basically given up waiting for my order.

Worst place ever 2 weeks waiting for my stock to be delivered, sent only half of my order and now they are disappearing from responding, shit place

I ordered two items recently. Only one was delivered. I contacted the company via email to raise this and was told that it would be raised with the courier company and I would receive a response within 4 business days. I heard nothing. After 4 days I contacted them again and was told the same thing. I asked for a refund, a request that was ignored.

I am no closer to a resolution and suspect that I will never receive either the item nor the refund.

Save yourself a lot of stress and buy from a different store!

A word of warning for anyone wanting to shop on-line with a gift card from #PlatypusShoes.

Recently I placed an order for $189.99 and added in details of my $100 gift card. I then added my credit card details to cover the balance of the order only to discover next day that the full amount of the order was taken from my credit card.

Despite numerous emails requesting $100 be refunded on my credit card, I keep getting told that they can not do it.

If I want a refund I am required to return the shoes! Yet I want the shoes and any refund will still leave me with a gift card and exposed to the same checkout issues yet again if I were to use it!

This is an intransigent organisation with poor customer service.
