We didn't expect to buy a new machine
We didn't expect to buy a new machine, but Richard explained after nine years, the machine was ready to be changed within the year. It was misbehaving and two parts were already in need of replacement. So we said yes and Richard exchanged the old for new, did all the checks and was as charming as he is knowledgeable, efficient and competent. We've been with Monarch for about thirty years. We wouldn't change.
You can't go wrong using Monarch and if you're lucky, they'll send Richard to sort it out. MJ

The bypass valve kit gives away and starts leaking
The bypass valve kit gives away and starts leaking. I installed this 2 years back and the valve has not started leaking. The valve is also not available easily in the market to replace it which makes it tricky to have water running untill the leak is sorted.

I had a 5 year old water softener that was put in by a company installing my new bathroom. Recently the water softener broke down. I contacted Monarch who informed me my appliance had never been registered but they would send an engineer to sort out the problem. Richard turned up, listened to my explanation and assured me he would sort it out so that when he left I would have a system working correctly. He worked quickly and carefully taking the system apart. He took care to explain everything to me, giving me all the information I needed to enable me to decide what I wanted him to do. The water softener had been installed incorrectly and had been very badly damaged in use. Richard gave me the option of repair but with a short period of use before it would need to be replaced or a new model that he could install straightaway. I decided to opt for a new Monarch water softener. Richard was very professional in his work and friendly and reassuring, clearing up the kitchen when he had finished. Once finished Richard explained how to make sure my system continued to work correctly. He answered all my questions. He helped me contact the office so I could sort out payment. Monarch emailed me all the paperwork to set up a service plan. When Richard came I was upset that my system had broken down. By the time he left I was very pleased with my new system and reassured the company would look after my system in the future. Richard was friendly and professional, an excellent Monarch employee. I am pleased to recommend this engineer and his company.

Excellent service of my water softener. The engineer, Richard Lawrence, turned up on time, serviced the unit with care, and was very polite and respectful of my property. Highly recommended.
Misleading Warranty
Originally purchased a Monarch softener as recommended by my plumber. Claims to have a 7 year guarantee. Turns out you only get this if the unit is serviced every year. Very misleading.
Softener returned and another brand used instead.
