The whole point of having active & fit was to have multiple memberships for one low price, now I only get $5 off each additional membership I want?
I looked at Aadaptiv through BC/BS, and it's $39.95 for the standard memberships. If Aadptiv wants to pick up business, they should offer for us to hop to them!
I feel like this is going to destroy their customer base and everyone is just going to cancel and get a basic membership right through their main gym. For example, my main gym is crunch fitness, I can get their basic membership for $10 a month and a $50 annual fee.
Obviously if you really want to go to multiple different gyms this isn't going to work, but say you want to go to crunch, planet fitness and maybe a local gym that was on the plan. You're now paying $28 for crunch, $19.99 for planet fitness ($24.99 - $5) and maybe $20 for a local gym, totaling $67.99 a month. That's an insane increase.

I wish I could give this negative stars! Huge waste of money and time. I have two fitness centers I use - a traditional gym and a barre studio. My gym told me sometimes insurance covers gym memberships so I looked into it and mine did. Active & Fit Direct. When signing up, I saw that my barre studio was also listed and I could save ~$20/month on that membership, so I added it. But after signing up I learned that my barre studio had already dropped the program and it would only work for another few months. If I cancelled my regular membership I would lose my pricing and end up paying more after Active & Fit expired. It only ended up saving me ~$10 on my gym because although my son was covered under the same insurance, he didn't qualify for A&FD. Without the family membership, there wasn't much savings. When I tried to reach A&FD for a refund on the barre membership, I couldn't log in and there was a bug with the chat. When I finally reached them a month later, they had already processes another payment even though I paid 3 months in advance and they refused a refund because I was outside of my refund period. I've now paid double for my barre membership for 4 months. Horrible experience.
Do not give this company your money
Do not give this company your money. If your employer contracts with this company, urge them to stop and to use another vendor.
Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Hold times are an hour plus to speak to someone. They made a change to only allow one gym now instead of many. They charge you in advance and it’s impossible to cancel.
This comapny will be out of business within a year, no doubt.
Not worth the headache
I havebeen using this program since Oct of last year an it was great at the start. I had three gym memberships for $28 per month. It was very convenient. They recently changed their rules so that you can only have 1 membership for the monthly rate and any additional gyms you get a $5 discount on the monthly fee. They advertise a well-being coach but after trying to call, email, and chat I have not been able to schedule a session. The customer service is really unhelpful and I have been on hold now for 20+ mins hoping to speak to someone. I'll be cancelling my membership.
No customer service
Worst customer service I have ever experienced. The bot was unable to help and ended our calls and conversation. I was on hold for two hours when their work day ended last week (7/5). The mission continues this week (7/8). On hold for 33 mins and counting...

Horrible service! They were really good a few months ago, offering access to multiple gyms. However, they now limit you to only one gym per month, and the price they offer is a lot more than what it would cost to just get membership with the gym. I called to cancel my membership but was never able to get through to an agent. I tried their chat function online and it's just a bot - you can't speak to anyone in their customer service team. I someone got charged for 2 months in advance and have been trying to request a refund. I sent them an email and am hoping that works. Stay away!

It used to be worth it when you could choose many gyms to workout at. They then increased the price, and I was okay with that. Now you are locked to one gym. What’s the point of this membership now? It’s more expensive than most of the gym memberships cost now, plus you don’t get guest privileges. What a shame.
No longer a good option for travelers
We travel a lot and this used to be a great option for us! They recently changed their program and it is garbage now. We played by their rules and logged in on the first of the month to change our gym. You can only do this on the first. You can not do this on their website because the buttons don’t work and it’s full of dead links. You have to call. Expect to wait at least an hour to talk to someone. The lady on the phone told us we would have to pay an additional fee to change our primary gym on the first. This isn’t part of their stipulations, we politely asked her why as that isn’t written anywhere and we were doing our best to make this work and follow their policies because we’ve liked the program in the past. She hung up on us. I called back and waited another 45 min before giving up. Really disappointing to see what’s happened to this program.

Stay Away
One gym a month for $28 and extra gyms for $23 each. Definitely no longer worth it. You also must prepay a month in advance every month. Customer service is horrible, long wait times with not even an attempt to resolve the issue. Save your money.
Trash
Trash. Used to be great but now you're locked into one gym. Also screwed me out of the month because they auto selected a gym I never go to as my new primary and are trying to charge me extra for the one I want. Customer service non-existent. Just get a membership with your local gym. If travel is important to you, get an LA membership.

Not worth the membership and charges more than most monthly gym memberships. New policy Only supports one gym membership and has become very unimpressive program indeed. Just join the gym during deal days etc
Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service. These people literally do not listen and just parrot whatever talking points they most recently have. I was trying to update my name in the gym's system but it was only editable on AFD's side, but their rep instead offered to switch my gym, which I never asked for. When I pushed, they basically said it was impossible and they didn't seem to care.
Ripped off by Active&Fit Direct
I signed up for Active&Fit Direct through my AAA membership. I had it for a month. I didn't get to use it because I got sick with covid. Then I got a fraud charge on my account that I use to pay for the membership. When the card declined, they canceled the account and would not allow me to reinstate it. They said I have to pay the $90 enrollment fee all over again instead of just reinstating the membership with my new card number. Such a scam!

Zero stars
Zero stars. Tried 6 times to get a person either in chat or on the phone, tried 4 times to pay for a membership, changed devices, continually saying wrong ccv code. I've been on hold for now 17 minutes waiting for a human and reading the reviews. It sounds to me like this is a scam and not worth it. Unbelievably poor customer service. Who does business like this anymore?

I made a personal account for myself ant the end of May and realized I shouldn’t pay until June 1st because you pay in full for the whole month even if there are two days left in it. I wait a couple days and then try to login to do it today and the login stopped working. “No problem, I’ll just say forgot password” I think to myself. Nothing works, no emails for username or password, not in spam, not in junk, nothing. “Maybe I didn’t register originally?” I think and try to reregister. I am notified that an account already exist. I spend another thirty minutes trying different things to get in, trying dozens of password and attempting to get a reset email with no result.
“Fine, I’ll use my wife’s email and add myself as the spouse (we work for the same company). Create a fresh account for her and can’t pay. Invalid change account number I am told. Switch to another card and it works.
“Okay, cool. Things are working now…” I think. Oh how wrong I was… a half hour later I am still trying to add a spouse to a plan and went through glitch after glitch: first the account wouldn’t add to the cart no matter what I did. Then I finally worked around with different email address, added and tried to pay and had the same card I just used for my own membership kicked back as invalid. Changed cards (to the original one turned down), paid and was prompted to make a spouse account to get membership code. No matter what I do, delete cookies, try in different browser, incognito mode, on different devices- nothing. When I click next the screen blips and reloads the register screen again. No matter what I do I can’t create the spouse account.
Oh and today is Saturday? Yeah, they don’t help on weekends- no help available until Monday… and from what I’ve read here I’m going to be more enraged on Monday dealing with their “customer service”. I am convinced I just paid two months worth for a spouse gym membership that will never work…. Prove me wrong active and fit…

Changing to only one gym for $28 while I have friends on SilverSneakers who not only don't pay a monthly fee but go to as many gyms as they need.
With Federal insurance I would have to join an advantage plan to get SilverSneakers but I want to keep my Federal insurance.
I feel like I am being penalized because I am a Senior staying active
