Never Again- Company is SCAM!

Never Again. This company was horrible. I paid enrollment fee and gym wouldn't honor, and when I called for refund they said they would call me back in 24-48 hours. They did 5 days later and said refund policy is only within the 5 days. They waited until my time was up before they called and stole $60 from me. I don't have extra money to have people steal as I was trying to get healthy to reduce my medications to help save some money.

Horrible customer service!!

Horrible service!!! Long story short customer service sucks with this company. They made a mistake once they switched to members only picking one gym membership. After I picked the golds gym as my primary gym (before deadline to switch) they made the mistake to not make the change. After awhile golds gym stayed my membership was not active because I hadn’t paid active and fit. After four times of contacting active and fit been on hold for hours I was told the problem would be resolved in 5-7 days. I I was tossed around from employees to finally a supervisor who would call he by the end of the day on 6 day. Ofcourse that didn’t happen. Then another employee stated just go to golds and use a guest pass and when I tried that golds said nope couldn’t do that they needed to speak to active fit which I called to speak to an employee who read all the notes from previous call and said they couldn’t tell golds gym it was error on their part and that the change would happen in less then a day. Worthless I was harassed and felt embarrassed every time I went to golds to be told my membership was inactive.

I tried to cancel my membership and the…

I tried to cancel my membership and the terms and conditions made it impossible to do so in the appropriate time frame. I would never use active and fit again. The company is unreasonable and only cares about money not the members.

Disgusted

Absolutely deceitful. I wish I had read these reviews before signing up. Seemed like a dream come true to save money on my monthly gym membership, however they deceptively hide in the middle of their terms and conditions that you are billed for the month you sign up on the day you sign up. So if you, like me, sign up for a membership on the 29th then two days later it disappears and they do not offer refunds. The first agent I talked to was saying that she doesn’t get any benefits or paid well at her job and that she’s filing personally for bankruptcy. The second senior agent she passed me along to actually hung up on me which is a first. Don’t support a company that doesn’t treat their workers well, because in turn they will treat you with no respect.

Refuse my refund

After filing Dispute with my CC they canceled my membership effective July 31 however I had already paid through August
So on August 1 I had to rejoin and again pay for 2 months
When I call about my refund I am told my bank needs to contact them because of the dispute
I have sent numerous emails and snail mails showing no dispute but they won't accept it.
They got their money so how there be a dispute?
Last time I talked to them they mentioned PayPal which has nothing to do with it.
My CC said they don't call companies only sends documentation via email
I will probably never see my $55
Why did I rejoin? The gym had a joining fee of $80

Former Active and Fit member

I was an Active and Fit customer for a few years. I used to love it, but they changed how the program works in August of '24. You used to be able to work out at multiple gyms which was perfect for travelers or someone that likes working out at different gyms for whatever reason(s). Now they charge additional fees for adding gyms, their website has bugs, it's hard to navigate and trying to call them you WILL NOT GET A PERSON it's an automated voice that really doesn't answer your questions! All these folks that wrote negative reviews aren't lying. This company got away with one of the biggest bait and switch scams that I have ever seen in my opinion. They didn't even have the decency or courtesy for it's members to be grand fathered in to avoid these additional fees which it's quite hefty and in fact $20 to add a gym and that it's monthly by the way. I am not not sure if they were losing money or got greedy but not unless their plan is cheaper then your gym ITS SIMPLY NOT WORTH IT. That's about as an honest review that I can write.

Awful customer service

They allowed me to sign up for a gym that does not accept Active & Fit members and then refused to refund me after spending over an hour on the phone with them total (most of which was on hold). The supervisor I spoke to was very rude and unhelpful. Her suggestion was that I could sign up with another gym in their network with the next closest one that participates being 30+ minutes away from me. It was an incredibly frustrating experience.

Management does not get back to you, I had to call 5 times. Rude customer service

Highly unsatisfactory experience with their customer service department. Despite making five attempts to resolve issues with my account, I received no follow-up via phone or email. The company claimed the matter had been escalated to management, yet there was no accountability in their communications, the interactions were unprofessional and ZERO response.

I spoke with Manager Stephanie today, who was notably unhelpful, indifferent, and appeared distracted during our conversation. It is evident that there is a lack of proper staff training, and despite providing a doctor's note and relevant documentation, there was no willingness to accommodate or address my concerns or to further improve their customer service department.

Even if the cost savings seem appealing, I would strongly advise against using this company as their customer service is severely lacking and unfortunately extremely difficult to work with, starting with the management staff.

Unbelievable cancellation practice

Unbelievable cancellation practice. I cancelled the gym I had their membership through, after I emailed them asking to cancel. Then they proceeded to charge me and keep my account active. This company is unethical.

Terrible experience overall

Too many websites that don't help you make sure you have the right one for the account. Terrible customer service, the representatives don't listen to what you have to say. The website said, "The information you have provided does not match our records" but charged me for a year for an account I couldn't access because of there isn't a record of my information to recover an account.

This company is a scam

This company is a scam, they billed me twice per month for the same member ship and refused to refund me after acknowledging this should have never happened. Support is non existent. Run away as fast as you can.

Zero stars if I could!

I would give them zero stars if I could! Absolutely horrible company to use. I registered with them because in the beginning you were able to use multiple gyms. However, they changed this a few months ago. I called many times to cancel my membership and was hung up on. I emailed them to cancel the membership and they responded a month after. On top of that, they charge you two months ahead of time when you first sign up for membership. I asked for a refund and again after one month of not hearing from them I had to follow up with them via email since I couldn’t get a hold of them on the phone and they denied my refund. Horrible customer service and they charge you for unfair charges

Serious Concerns Regarding Recent Program Changes

I am writing to express my complete dissatisfaction with the recent changes to your program. The one key advantage that set your program apart has been removed, leaving us with a service that is far less valuable. Frankly, working directly with the gym is now a much more cost-effective option.

It’s clear that these changes have taken advantage of your customers, and as someone who oversees the Florida Blue insurance selection for our company, I find this approach deeply concerning. I will be notifying others about the misleading nature of your program.

This situation is disappointing, and I urge you to reconsider these changes in the interest of maintaining the trust and satisfaction of your customers.

A headache to deal with

There is a trend these days where customer service agents use the Terms & Conditions as a reason to treat customers in a derogatory manner. This company is one of those companies. Their Terms & Conditions is unfair to begin with. At this point, we all ought to have our own home gym station because it’s very hard to find a gym with ethical business practices.

Join at your own risk...easy to get in almost impossible to get out!

After shifting gym membership to health care insurance provider June 1, it was insultingly impossible to reach to cancel by phone. 6 calls in June and July with wait times of 20 to 30 minutes before I hung up. Finally got through today, and was told by a arrogant and brassy CS agent that "we are easy to leave". They excel at complicating cancellation to show revenue were it was not earned.

Remedy coming from a bank card claim. Don't roll over for this company.

Getting charged the maintenance fee on a cancelled account.

I cancelled my membership in April. I looked at my account and I had the $25 maintenance fee. This is not uncommon because it happened to my child. It's 2 am and I'm annoyed by this. How is your payment information STILL on file and you no longer have an account? This is that mess that makes you tell people to run and ruin very fast. If I had known then what I know now I wouldn't have. Now I have yet to deal with the customer service but reading the reviews I'm not hopeful that it will be a positive experience. I think they don't expect people to view their accounts to see that they are being charged for something they don't have. Also it makes the gym that you had a membership with look bad. Either I'll go on post or I just won't go. The times we are living in people can't be just like oh it's only $25. I'm going to call Active and Fit and also call the gym I USED to belong to. Obviously they DON'T care as they have 98% 1* reviews. USAA and other companies might want to take a look at this as well. Disappointed Customer

I do wish I could give ZERO stars

Yes I do wish I could give ZERO stars. I've been a member and like others I was using a few different gyms - ok they realized that model of business doesn't work. As an entrepreneur I get it. So I started going only to one gym before the switch and they said they'll assign you to the one you go to most. They did not. Then i had to chat with a bot and get hung up on after waiting on hold for a human being only to see later they switched me...to the OTHER gym i WASN'T going to! I called and finally got a human and they kept trying to tell me I would have to wait and switch it and pay extra and get refunded later blah blah blah. He said they can't switch me except they are the only ones who had - TWICE - up to that point so whaaaaat? I clarified that for him and he hung up the phone in my face. I immediately cancelled the membership. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE JUST A BIG SCAM - STAY AWAY FROM IT!

MEMBERSHIP NOT WORTH IT!!

The whole point of this program before I joined was to have access to standard gyms at one price per month, now its $28 for one standard gym and if you want to go to other standard gyms, its an additional $23 on top of $28. Crazy right!! No point of having a membership with active and fit anymore... Just give your money directly to the gyms instead.
