Great service if you’re in two minds about taking your pet to the vet after hours. Quick response from a lovely caring vet. Very helpful wth the ability to upload photos and videos of your pets condition. Even follow up messages to check on your pets condition.. highly recommended.

First time using this service and spoke to the lovely Dr Jenna regarding a dog bite wound to our dog’s leg.

We had spoken to a nurse at the local vet clinic (unassociated with VetChat) the day prior, who was very unhelpful with any advice and condescending when we explained we couldn’t bring him in that exact moment and didn’t think we needed to.

Being able to chat directly to the vet without leaving home, and show the wound over video, was incredibly useful and far more practical than heaving a 60kg dog into the car and an hour down the road (we live rurally).

As an emergency doctor myself (albeit for humans) we were able to devise a clinically appropriate plan for wound management that didn’t involve an unnecessary in-person vet visit, which would stress our boy out more (especially given his trauma history).

Jenna was thorough and helpful, both in what was needed for management now, and noting any upcoming potential red flags that would necessitate a formal vet visit in person.

As an AA Pet insurance policy holder, I have a limited number of free access to VetChat. I gave it a go when my baby bengal was starting to recover from an upset stomach, and I needed some guidance as to what to feed him as we were unsure what the cause was. The app was easy to use and the vet was very knowledgeable and helpful with the advice they gave and advised when I would need to take my cat for a physical examination. I was even able to send photos of my cat for the vet to assess his weight. I received a transcript of the chat, which is very handy if you can't remember everything you've been told to do, and I received a follow up email to check on my cat. This service is fantastic as I can get a vet consult, at anytime of the day, without causing my cat the stress of an actual trip to the vet unless it's actually necessary. I would recommend it to anyone who's not sure if their pet needs to visit the vet.

Efficient and effective support. Great service provided and the vet we spoke to was knowledgeable and provided peace of mind for the injury our dog sustained late on a Sunday afternoon, until we could see a local vet the following day. The technology worked well and was easy to navigate (sending pictures to the vet of the injury) and we received a follow up email offering further assistance if required.

An excellent service, which is always helpful and helps take the stress out of a situation, when located in a rural area with a 40 min drive to the nearest emergency vet.

As a first time user I can thoroughly recommend this service. I was alerted to it by North Coast Vet services NE NSW as an emergency avenue.
My 4 yo Mini Labradoodle was exhibiting a rapid heart beat some hours after reclining in my bedroom which had an airconditioner set to 17 degrees last night. I was concerned and contacted the service. Phone help talked me through the scenario, I had already checked gums and he wasn’t panting. Tongue was also as it should be. Advise was to watch but to contact if necessary. I sent a message about 10.30 pm saying he had been settled since 10.pm. A follow up call from the service was made in the morning as was a call from Dr Lauren Archer. So I was relived but importantly reassured there was help if I needed it. 110% grateful.

We have used the online vet quite a few times now. The video chats are brilliant. This latest one concerned our little chihuahua and her hind leg which she was holding up. The vet we spoke to suggested a couple of things to do which we did and hey presto she was back in action.
This was early evening and both myself and my daughter have health issues at the moment so this was a godsend for us.

The fast response time was great and the information given reassured us.

When unable to make contact with a vet out of hours which has happened to us twice now recently, VetChat got back to us quickly and made contact with the vets on our behalf calling them in out of hours for our very sick pup. Highly recommend VetChat for knowledgeable, timely & considered veterinary advice. This was part of my Pet Insurance Australia package and is the item I use frequently when my puppy is sick or for educational advice as a pup parent (eg. how to monitor for food allergies or conduct an elimination diet). I have found all the vets so far very helpful and have provided clear advice, many times far clearer than my pup's in person vet. They also email a summary of the advice provided and do a follow up check the following day. Thank you VetChat team!

Dr Shirilen had a big reassuring smile, listened, asked questions. Sorted us out and we got tips for the mouthing problems we are/were having.

Super fast and put my mind at ease with next steps on how to take care of my dog. Thankful for such quick and helpful support! I also asked questions at like 11pm so that was good to know someone was available when I needed cause I was freaking out but they helped.

I was concerned about my 10mth old puppy he had lots of diarrhea, late one night. I needed to be reassured my puppy would be ok until I got to the vet the next morning, so I contacted vetchat who were amazing. The vet got me to check to a few things with the dog and reassured me he'd be ok. Also suggested to ensure to get a probiotic from the vet and to only feed a bland diet of rice & chicken for a few days. Two days later I got an email from vetchat checking up on my puppy's well-being, a very nice gesture. I was impressed with the level of service & thanks to the wonderful Vet I chatted with.

We have a young puppy that had had a very upset stomach for a number of days, which was concerning. Being regional it is not quick or easy to get in to a vet, particularly on a weekend. We were concerned early on a Sunday morning, found VetChat, and were able to speak with a vet within 5 minutes! It was incredibly helpful. The vet listened carefully to all our concerns, gave great advice, and there were follow up notes and check-ins with us following our consultation. Would 100% recommend VetChat.

It was so simple to get the advice at 11 30 pm on a Saturday night prior to seeing the nurse at vsos. I followed there advice and had vitals checked by a nurse with no need to go further with seeing a vet. Service was fantastic and extremely professional. A great service
