Absolutely terrible experience with Travelolo and what appears to be clear mis-selling.

We purchased a Wowcher deal on 20/05/26 for flights plus a 7-night stay at the 4* Zante Park Resort and Spa on an all-inclusive basis, with advertised availability for 28th May 2026. Order numbers: 51754164 and 20514034.

We called Travelolo immediately to arrange the booking and were promised a callback within 24 hours, which did not happen until 22/05/26.

During the call, they requested our voucher codes supposedly just to “verify” them. At no point did they explain that the vouchers were effectively being redeemed or that the advertised hotel was unavailable. Instead, they discussed alternative flight options that all required additional payments and then started offering completely different hotels, many with very poor reviews.

Only after rejecting these unsuitable alternatives did they finally admit that Zante Park Resort and Spa had not been available for quite some time. Strangely, the exact same package was still being advertised online.

When we requested a refund because the advertised package could not be provided, we were told refunds were not possible because the vouchers had already been redeemed. We were simply told to “try Wowcher,” despite them admitting previous customers had little success.

This whole process feels like a tactic to lure customers in with attractive advertised hotels and dates, only to switch them to inferior options and charge extra money once the vouchers are locked in. Looking at other reviews, this does not appear to be an isolated incident.

I am extremely disappointed with the conduct and customer service provided by Travelolo.
I exercised my legal right to cancel this purchase within the 14 day cooling off period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 before any confirmed booking was ever concluded. I made this clear repeatedly in writing via Wowcher, WhatsApp and email.
No confirmed booking, ATOL certificate or agreed travel itinerary was ever provided to me.

The dates later proposed by Travelolo did not even match the original purchase made through Wowcher, and I explicitly stated that I did not accept or confirm those alternative arrangements.

Despite this, Travelolo have continued to ignore and delay resolving the matter while withholding my £287.99 payment. I have now exhausted every possible avenue including emails, written cancellation notices, phone calls, WhatsApp communication and a bank chargeback dispute. I was even told a manager would call me back, which never happened.

The entire process has felt deliberately obstructive and unnecessarily difficult. I have retained a full evidence pack containing screenshots, emails and written correspondence proving that cancellation was requested before any confirmed holiday booking existed.

Consumers should be extremely cautious when booking through this company. Based on my experience, once payment has been taken it becomes incredibly difficult to obtain a lawful refund even where cancellation rights clearly apply.

Unless this matter is resolved promptly, I will continue pursuing the matter formally through my bank, regulatory complaints processes and any other available legal channels.

All I can say is stay away from this company. Rude customer service, trying to get money out of you. Pretending to give you a good deal in fact they put you in the cheapest hotel, they push you into paying extra fees. They tried to put me in a hotel full of mould, I’ve paid over £977. Don’t fall for this, keep your money and book with someone else! They refuse to give customers a refund. Totally against the law this like. An agent called Sam, doesn’t even let you speak just speaks over you and on top of that he said ‘it’s not my problem’ when I’m trying to get my money back! Scammers the lot of them, this joke of a company needs shut down like!

This is a very special holiday for all of my family. Same has been very helpful & continues to help me. Only thing that should. Be advertised is the cost of transport .. it would then allow you to cost the holiday more appropriately . Thank you sam

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. The way I’ve been treated and spoken to in the last 48 hours is disgusting. I’ve had reallt unfortunate news about my 2nd passenger. No sympathy, just saying nothing we can do sorry. The way I got conned into paying for another night is wrong. Would not let me say no although I demanded multiple times. This site is a scam, they rob you and then don’t offer you a refund. I am currently making a claim against them.

Sam was brilliant at helping me book my holiday. I’d booked with Wowcher, but needed to request to change the dates I’d booked. He was able to find another suitable date, and explained any changes that would be needed to the price. He also offered the opportunity to change the destination of more suitable, and was generally extremely helpful.

I have never had the misfortune of dealing with such an awful company before. I was lied to about flight times from Edinburgh to Milan in order to try and get an extra £240 money for a completely different holiday. I went round in circles for weeks trying to get a refund for the initial £600 I paid. Travelolo were directing me to Wowcher and Wowcher kept directing me back to Travelolo. In the end I contacted Trading Standards and Watchdog and advised them I was proceeding with a claim through the smalls claims court and finally got my refund. I have lost out on a holiday that my partner and I were initially excited for before we realised that this company just want to exploit hard working people out of extra money by telling lies.

Nick was great at finding us the perfect package for our multi-city trip to Italy. Give us plenty of options to choose from and very helpful with all the small details.

Before I get into my experience I want to flag something anyone can see on this page. The five star reviews are overwhelmingly vague, generic and follow the same pattern, no specific deal mentioned, no details, just short positive phrases no real customer would write. Draw your own conclusions.

Now my experience.
I purchased an Amsterdam Eurostar City Break. What followed was a deliberately engineered process designed to extract more money after purchase or hope you give up trying to get a refund.

The tricks used:
Bait and switch — listing advertised Eurostar included. After redemption the travel partner immediately pushed flights. When challenged they said Eurostar was available but costs extra. I paid for Eurostar. It was advertised as included.

Misleading omission — solo travel costs extra. Two people costs extra. There is no version of the trip available at the advertised price. Every option has an unavoidable additional charge none of which appear in the listing headline.

The loop — Wowcher sends you to the travel partner. Travel partner sends you back to Wowcher. Wowcher sends broken refund links. Suggests incognito. Sends the same broken link again. Repeat until you give up. Many people do. That is the strategy.

What they bank on — that the 16 day refund window only applies to unredeemed vouchers. The moment you redeem to find out what you actually bought you lose that protection. That timing is not an accident.
The calls — since redeeming this voucher I began receiving multiple unsolicited sales calls daily from unknown numbers. Make of that what you will.

I got my money back but it took weeks of persistence, documented complaints, a PayPal dispute and refusing to accept their process. Most people won't go that far. That is exactly what Wowcher and their travel partners are counting on.

These practices fall under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 — bait and switch, misleading omission, pressure selling. The CMA has already investigated Wowcher once. Based on my experience nothing has changed.
I will not be using Wowcher again.

The service that Krishna provided was great. She was very knowledgeable, polite and courteous throughout the whole process.
