I had an amazing experience with my travel advisor Krishna! She truly went above and beyond to find the best possible option for my trip. Everything was perfectly tailored to my needs, from the location to the price and overall experience. She was attentive, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable, making the whole process smooth and stress-free. I couldn’t have asked for a better service — highly recommend to anyone looking for a seamless and enjoyable travel planning experience!
Misleading sales tactics and pressure to agree quickly
I was pressured into agreeing to change my flight times within 10 minutes while I was at work. They called me saying my original flight to Milan would land too late because the hotel was around 2 hours away, so they pushed me to pay extra to “fix” the timings so I’d arrive earlier and have more time. Under that pressure, I agreed.
When I realised the details didn’t match what I was told, I emailed immediately to cancel, but my cancellation was ignored. Instead, I was told the booking was “non‑refundable” despite the fact it was made under pressure and with misleading information.
What they didn’t tell me was that while changing the flights, they also changed my hotel to a completely different town over an hour away from the original location. None of this was explained properly during the call.
Customer service felt dismissive and didn’t address any of the issues I raised. When I contacted my bank, they told me that because I had technically “agreed” during the pressured call, there was nothing they could do through their standard dispute process.
I would avoid Wowcher and Travelolo at all cost.
Avoid
Booked a short break through Wowcher. You only get ALL the information AFTER redeeming your voucher with Travelolo, and the details of the break were totally unacceptable! Flights to and from different airports at ridiculous times of the day (late out, early back), and hours away from the resort hotel. Asked for a refund, only to get bounced back and forth between Wowcher and Travelolo. Both saying refunds not possible. Avoid Avoid Avoid!

Dealt with a women named Krishna
Dealt with a women named Krishna, it was quite the hassle initially to get through to them regarding my booking (getting a hold of my specific agent) but once I did she was helpful and accommodating. Understood my needs and genuinely went that extra mile despite me being a pain. It was a bit of a messy process regarding dates but got there in the end and would probably book with them again.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
I would highly recommend not purchasing a holiday through Wowcher and these absolute scammers, Travelolo. I recently bought a 2 night 4 star trip to Rome (flights included). The advert suggested itinerary of what to visit each day. The day of booking I was contacted by some salesperson from the holiday provider, Travelolo, who told me the flights would mean we wouldn't get to the hotel until the early hours of the second day and would have to leave the hotel late that same night as the flight back was first thing in the morning. He also told me that it would cost me 300 euros to pay for a private taxi to and from the hotel as "Rome doesn't have public transport at night". When I said the flights were not OK as we would not get one full night in the hotel, he offered to fly us from a different airport but I would have to pay almost the same again for what I'd already paid. When I explained I couldn't afford this and was put through to a manager, the manager was rude and said "well try to get your money back from Wowcher but they will not give it you" pretty much laughing and saying "you're welcome ma'am" when I said they were ruining my holiday plans. They also offered to send me to a "cheaper" destination....we had specifically booked Rome. The terms and conditions clearly state on wowcher website that you have 14 days for a refund before confirmation. There is no telephone number for wowcher, I messaged them on the live chat and they just came back and said there is nothing they can do. Travelolo are obviously scamming people by getting you to pay and then trying to make you pay more or swap to a cheaper destination and refusing a refund within 14 days when the advert is misleading, did not warn anything about the flight times, is illegal. I strongly advise anyone thinking of buying a holiday through Wowcher, thinking they're getting a good deal, don't waste your money. I wish I'd seen the negative reviews of so many people describing the same experience on here. I intend to take legal action.
Update: after writing this review and the same on Wowcher, Wowcher got in touch with me. I quoted the following information: "As of April 6, 2025, the UK's Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 (DMCCA) bans "drip pricing," where mandatory fees (service, booking, admin) are added late in the checkout process. Businesses must display the total price upfront, including unavoidable charges. Non-compliance can lead to fines up to 10% of global turnover." I received a refund.

Travelolo completely scammed me
Travelolo completely scammed me. I booked a trip to cyprus through wowcher, they claimed they would call me within 2 working days with airport information and did not call me for a week. When I called I was told the 3 day holiday I booked would’ve been 24 hours in cyprus and £600 in extra fees.
Do not use a Travelolo and Wowcher holiday deals
We purchased a “4-night Rome holiday” through Wowcher, but were required to redeem our voucher with Travelolo before seeing any flight or hotel details.
Only after redeeming did we discover flight times that meant arriving at the hotel around 3:45am on day 2 and leaving at 3:30am on day 4—effectively losing two full days of the trip.
When we raised this, Travelolo told us we would need to pay an extra £330 just to get reasonable flight times—nearly doubling the original cost. Wowcher then refused a refund because the voucher had already been redeemed, and Travelolo would only offer a credit note.
We were left with no real choice but to pay far more than advertised.
In the end, the total cost was much higher than comparable ATOL-protected packages available elsewhere.
Now in formal dispute with both companies. Based on this experience, I’d strongly advise others to think carefully before booking these types of deals.
Would give zero stars if possible.
So bad I had to create a Trustpilot profile to warn others
WARNING, DO NOT BOOK WITH TRAVELOLO.
My partner and I purchased a holiday to Italy via Wowcher (organised by Travelolo) back in January and like so many other stories, it has been a complete disaster and the worst customer service we have ever dealt with. They tried to put us in a 1* star hotel instead of the promised 4* star hotel.
Not only this, after trying to book us into ridiculous flight times meaning we would arrive late on our first day and leave early on our last, they immediately offered new, much more suitable flights - and then added £178 to our bill without warning and without our permission. We only were made aware of these costs when we demanded a price break down of what we were paying for.
They then proceeded to ignore all emails of our complaints, and so we couldn’t go on our holiday.
Travelolo have been nothing but dismissive and Wowcher couldn’t care less, so unfortunately our only option has been to report them to Trading Standards and Watchdog.
Please be mindful of the random 5* star reviews peppered amongst these horror stories of Travelolo. Check out WOWCHER RIP OFF Facebook group for identical stories of what we’re currently going through.
I bought a holiday through metro-deals…
I bought a holiday through metro-deals which is actually a front for wowcher, if I would have known this I wouldn’t have purchased the holiday as I have had previous bad experiences with wowcher in the past. The day after I purchased the holiday my friend was let go from her job which meant she could no longer afford to come. I emailed and phoned travelolo and wowcher and they kept referring me back to the other one and saying thet were trying to contact me when in fact emails were never responded to and I never had any missed calls. I asked for a refund due to change in circumstance and the attempted contact went on for weeks, they are very hard to get hold of. eventually I was told I am not entitled to a refund after three weeks of wasting my time, it was very stressful, and Sam who I was told my wowcher to ask for by name was rude on the phone and dismissive, and said he would find my order and contact me back (never happened of course, there is a pattern here) Nick for some reason could just not help me with any information, I hadn’t actually booked and flights or hotel at this point he couldn’t tell me where my money has actually been spent and why I can’t get a refund, it’s just ‘policy’ all they could do was change the holiday however the prices had gone UP since the original wowcher purchase, surprise surprise! They basically just took my money and messed me around for three weeks until I am ashamed to say I gave up because I was too stressed and tired to carry on, keep in mind NO FLIGHTS and NO HOTEL rooms had been booked at this point, they literally just took my money. Please avoid this company it is an absolute scam

Never use this company
Do not use travelolo. never booked my holiday for me after paying, still waiting for a refund A MONTH LATER nobody reads your emails nor communicates rubbish
as they say if something looks to good…
as they say if something looks to good to be true it usually is, and this was no different feel totally scammed by Wowcher and Travelolo and wish I had done my homework. 3 nights Lake Como break inc. hotel and flights £229 each sounded like a pretty good offer. Then I redeemed the voucher and got a call from Sam at Travelolo to go through the details that's when they get you, Our flight out with Ryanair leaves so late in Oct we dont land till midnight and then he told me we would have a 1hr 20 min transfer to arrange ourselves to Lake Como and there are no trains from the airport at the time we land, so in other words he said would cost us approx £120 in a taxi to lake como. None of these details are included in the wowcher description, then he hits you with "but I can upgrade you to an afternoon flight at a cost of £89 each more" and a £10 each fee not even sure what this was for as it doesnt state on the email I was sent but he added it in anyway and charged me an additional £198 so my £458 break became £656 just like that. Not only that I went on Ryanairs website and could have got these flights so much cheaper and with seats and luggage inc. something else we dont even get in this price. So Wowcher give you only the hotel you will be staying in, it doesnt tell you who you fly with or when or your return flights or how far away the airport is from your hotel as you dont know what airport your landing at. I am really upset and feel like we have been taken advantage of but its to late now to do anything about it. Please dont fall foul as I really believe this to be a hard core scam I could have literally got this so much cheaper if I had booked the flights and hotel separately and even got checked luggage etc. what I thought was bargain has me wishing we were not going already. Contacted Wowcher who have just replied with generic automated speel.
Sam was amazing
Sam was amazing. So helpful and thoughtful.
Great Customer Support
I have had great experience with Krishna,
She helped us to guide for hassle free booking, and got us really good deals through Wowcher.
Highly recommended.
purchased a Wowcher deal for two…
purchased a Wowcher deal for two tickets costing £387 for 3 nights in a 4★ hotel in Lake Garda. What followed was one of the worst booking experiences I’ve ever had.
From the moment I bought the voucher, I received pushy emails and constant phone calls from a number that bizarrely appeared on my phone as “Colossal Cleaners.” This alone should have been a warning sign, but things got worse.
When I finally answered, I spoke to someone called “Sharon,” who immediately tried to upsell me “upgraded flights” for an extra £158. When I asked what flights were included in the original deal so I could compare, she dodged the question and instead pressured me to click a dodgy-looking link within 10 minutes to “secure” the flights. I declined.
After that, the original 4★ hotels advertised on Wowcher suddenly became “unavailable,” and I was offered a 3★ hotel I’d never heard of, which wasn’t even listed in the original deal. I checked the website for the 4★ hotel myself — there were clearly still vacancies. The whole thing felt deceptive.
I asked for a breakdown of costs to understand what my £387 had paid for, especially if I was supposedly having to pay separately for flights. I’m still waiting. It genuinely feels like they advertise 4★ hotels to lure you in, claim they are full, then place you in cheaper accommodation while pocketing the difference.
To make matters worse, Wowcher refuse to take responsibility and keep passing me back to Travelolo’s customer service — who I now firmly believe are running a scam-like operation. How does that make any sense?
In my opinion: stay well away.
This company is misleading, unprofessional, and uses high-pressure tactics. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone
Nick was professional and very helpful
