From what you have mentioned, this sounds like a third-party auto-switching website that uses our technology. Unfortunately, we have had a few of these from customers who forgot they registered for their services and missed their emails before the application was submitted.

I had done a few comparisons on the usual sites.. And then decided to give yours ago.. Got quoted better prices and started my switch. Which was extremely fast has I was with my new suppliers within 48 hrs..

We have checked our system and can see you applied to switch suppliers on 27th August 2025, so it is very unusual that you haven't been switched over by now.

Energy switch …

My experience with the energy shop was very good I was looking everywhere for a new supply quote that was keenly priced and the energy shop provided me with that they recommended so energy who offered me a fantastic price and I was happy to accept the price quoted the whole experience was very easy and transparent no hidden fees or catches I have used various comparison websites before and in my opinion energy shop is up there with the best of them I was totally aware of every step of the switch process from start to finish

Thank You, TheEnergyShop — A New Chapter in Energy

I’ll admit it — I ended up with Scottish Power. Not my proudest moment. For a while, I had no control over my account. There was this so-called “friendly credit”: the money appears to be there, and yet the power gets cut off. A strange kind of friendship.
Now, thanks to TheEnergyShop.com, it’s a different story. A new chapter. I’m curious how long it will last — but maybe, just maybe, this time it’ll work.

I have absolutely no recollection of…

I have absolutely no recollection of signing up with your company. I was recently made aware that my energy supplier had been switched without my consent to So Energy. The first I heard about this was when my current supplier emailed me to say it was sad to see me leave. I want to stress I have given no one permission to move my supplier and moreover I am in a fixed deal so would not want to switch as it incurs exit fees.
I raised a complaint with So Energy which informs me the Energy Shop initiated the switch. I did not give the Energy Shop permissions to switch me or use my data to do so. I have wasted a lot of time sorted out this issue and I have contacted them to request:
- why this happened without my permission
- why you used my data without my permission in contravention of GDPR rules (again what you will do to compensate me for this issue)
I am also considering raising a complaint with the Energy Ombudsman which is dependent on a satisfactory response from the Energy Shop. But beware this company especially if it is letting others use the data they hold about you. It’s scandalous and I have wasted so much time sorted out the problems they created .

Without my permission they try to…

Without my permission they try to switch my electricity to other supply this is not right i don’t consent them to do anything for me i will report to the authorities if my details not removed from there system.

Similar to another review left yesterday, this isn't being done by The Energy Shop, but by a third-party who have recently started to use our affiliate programme and technology for energy switching.

If you check your emails, you should have received several emails from this company that operates an auto-switching programme you may have signed up for in the past.

Beware of this company

Without my intervention The Energy Shop instructed So Energy to take over my electricity supply. I have tried to telephone on several occasions with the line being dropped after a 15 minute wait. I will be reporting the incident to The Energy Ombudsman.

I note your response to my warning above. In response, these are the facts as I have them. I wasn't notified by third party of the impending switch, neither had I made a request. You have listed a number of telephone numbers which don't seem to work. I waited on your freephone number for more than 15 minutes on 2 occasions only for you to drop the line. There are similar complaints to mine listed on Trust Pilot. As they say there is no smoke without fire.

NOT what it says on the tin

I was looking for electricity on Quarterly Variable Direct Debit
The Energy Shop filtered Eon as Quarterly Direct Debit. I messaged them to as if this was Variable Quarterly Direct Debit but got no reply.
I gave up waiting and went ahead with Eon. I found that they DO NOT do Quarterly Direct Debit as the Energy Shop had listed

Poor feedback and customer service

Why haven’t I heard from you after a number of emails (no telephone number being available) asking why my transfer of electricity account from British Gas to EOn that you claim to have arranged has not materialised

We replied to your wife last night at 19:06. The application submitted through Which?, who uses our technology for energy switching, was sent to EON Next. However, looking at their systems, an error message was generated advising "We are unable to create an account, however the error will be investigated internally". After hearing that you haven't been contacted by EON Next, we have reached out to them to ask for an update on why they have been unable to process the application. We hope to hear back from EON Next today to advise of the next steps, but rest assured we will resolve the issue one way or another.

DISAPPOINTMENT!

I am extremely disappointed with The Energy Shop’s handling of personal information. Without my consent, my bank details were used to switch energy suppliers for Flat 10 Piccadilly House, BD1 3NJ, even though I have never registered with The Energy Shop or authorized any such transaction.

This is a serious breach of data security, and despite reaching out, I have yet to receive a satisfactory explanation. It is alarming that such unauthorized activity could occur, raising concerns about how The Energy Shop handles customer data.

UPDATE: You registered with an auto-switching website in 2022, which submitted this application using the details you provided them with. The third-party, which uses our technology for submitting applications, said you were contacted three times by email and once by SMS before the application was submitted.

We're equally disappointed to see this review posted. You emailed us about a switch, and our CEO personally replied within just a few hours to highlight that the application was not submitted by The Energy Shop but by a third party that uses our technology to compare energy prices. For context, we partner with more than 300 affiliate websites who use our technology, including some of the largest consumer brands in the UK.

As we have already advised, we have contacted the owners of the affiliate partner who submitted your application to ask that they contact you directly.

Working with some of the largest brands in the UK, we can assure you that all customer data is handled and processed to the highest standards.

A rare diamond!

It is so rare nowadays, to be given such amazing online service. Scott truly is fantastic! He went above the call of duty, assisting us with a Scottish Power error, and finally, once we were able to switch, he advised us on a tariff which is best for us - And this was not one beneficial to his company - instead - thinking of us as high users how our annual bills would be affected. Thank you Scott - for sure I will be keeping an eye on the energy shop tarrifs for the future and recommending you to our friends and family - In the 21st century, such diligent and personal service - it simply a needle in the haystack! I'm not sure this review is meant for us. We don't claim to be cheaper; we simply present tariffs and prices directly from different energy suppliers i.e. they're not our prices but rather those UK energy suppliers offer.

If you're current tariff is cheaper than those available now, it's likely you're currently on a "fixed" price tariff which was signed up to before energy prices started to rise i.e. the cheapest deals last year averaged around £1,500 whereas we are now seeing tariffs for the same usage price at £1,800 due to wholesale gas prices continuing to rise.

We've been accredited by the UK energy regulator since 2003 and pride ourselves on ensuring we give customers a fair and accurate comparison to reduce their energy bills.

Quick and easy way to save money on bills

Was quick and easy to submit my details then choose a tariff that would save me money on costly energy bills. Received emails from both my new supplier and existing supplier within a few hours of submitting the application, informing me the switch is taking place Was fully switched to my new supplier a few days later.

This simply isn't true. We're an Ofgem-accredited price comparison service that has been operating since 2003 helping millions of UK homes switch and save on their energy bills. The tariff you applied for was removed from the market the day you applied for it, and you were given inaccurate information by a British Gas telesales agent. We have also stated that we are dealing with your query directly with the supplier and will resolve the issue one way or another.

Willing to work remotely with me

I live in the Milwaukee area and have had ongoing issues with getting service for my Jotul DV stove from the place I purchased it 10 years ago (and no other local places willing to work on something they didn't sell). In desperation, I reached out to The Energy Shop, saying that I knew I was far out of their service area but asking if they might be able to advise via phone or email if I sent pics/video of the problems. I got a prompt reply telling me that they'd be glad to help and suggesting particular pictures that would be the most useful.

As it turned out, I found a place (also a fair distance away) that was willing to service the stove and whose service area I was within. That place came and took care of things for me, and they will get their own review. I just wanted to say how appreciative I was that The Energy Shop was willing to work with me remotely if I'd been unable to find any other help. Good customer service is a rarity nowadays, and I was most appreciative of The Energy Shop's helpful attitude. If I ever move into their area, this is the place I'll go!

doesn't provide a list of tariffs for E-on gas
(and have tried multiple browsers)
then when I choose 'not listed' for comparisons, it says I've not completed the form correctly so won't quote.
what waste of space.

You folks are just fantastic at what you do. Price quoted was exactly as charged. Employee Jack did an excellent job and clean up was amazing like he never was here. Our fireplace works so much better and his work was right on the ball and his diagnosis was right on the mark. You have an outstanding service and are our go to vendor in the future. Highly recommended by us!!!
