Pre-booked a minibus to collect guests from our wedding in the Scottish borders at the end of the night (half-past midnight) that NEVER ARRIVED. Booked by phone, passed to ops to confirm dates and times (hald-past midnight Sunday morning) and then a flurry of emails to make sure that the booking details were correct.

Then the driver didn't turn up.

On the night when the bus should have arrived, I tried contacting the driver, but got no response. 10 minutes of guests and me waiting for the driver to arrive or respond I call the emergency number- they've no idea what's going on, but will call me back in 5 minutes. I call back 10 minutes later and they've just got off the phone to the depo- will call me back in 5 mintues with details. 10 minutes later I call back (guests have now been out in the cold for over half an hour) they're not sure what's going on, but they can't contact the driver either. Leave it with them and they'll get back to me in the next 5 minutes. 10 minutes later I call again having heard nothing.

On the local depot they've posted the job as half past 12 in the afternoon. Nearest depo is 2 hours away. We're now well after 1 in the morning and >45 minutes after my wedding has finished and they suggest maybe I call a taxi. So me and another guest (my new wife having gone inside to get warm- no phone signal in the house) have to spend the next quarter of an hour calling local taxi providers to try and get my guests home.

I specifically pre-booked a minibus and driver because our wedding was in the middle of nowhere, about an hour south of Edinburgh and I wanted peace of mind that I could enjoy my wedding day and relax at the end of a long evening.

I was mortified that my guests were left in the cold waiting to get home and I had to rely on waking up a local taxi driver and his mates to get my guests home *on my wedding day*.

Then I had to CHASE UP THE COMPANY to get a refund. We had 2 days between the wedding and our honeymoon and I had the joy of repeatedly emailing the company (no customer service contact details provided) to get a "sorry, here's a refund".

We used HireGo to book transport for our weekend guests nd had no problems with their service at all.

Our assigned driver, Mick, turned up nice and early, was patient with our inevitable stragglers, and loaded an absolute mass of luggage whilst remaining cheerful and polite. He'd also done his homework by consulting with his colleagues to find a good, safe drop off point in a tricky town centre location.
Parent organisation, The Coach Company, also deserve a mention. My experience was that I was able to quickly get to speak to an actual person, who could find my booking easily and readily give me the reassurance and help that I needed. As the allotted time approached, there was also plenty of email communication to let me know that all was well.

What an awful experience we've had. The only positive is Ian in sales who can't be more accommodating and helpful. He's an absolute credit to this awful company.

Unfortunately, today we were literally held to ransom and over a barrel, with a coach of 68 dance kids.

We booked travel through the coach company who in turn, booked a coach with Atlantic Coach Travel. We paid over £2k to transport dancers to a dance competition with the agreement that the comp would finish at a certain time but may overrun. The booking was confirmed as the driver would remain on site ready to return the dancers to Liverpool afterwards. When we came out of the comp, the coach was nowhere to be seen. We called the number the coach company gave us for the driver several times - no answer.

We then had to search the campus, while ringing the emergency office number for the missing coach (containing all the luggage too). Upon eventually finding it, they refused to move back to the agreed collection point. After eventually moving, they then tried refusing to move unless we paid another £200!

The coach company kept calling to say the depot had told the driver under no circumstances was he to move until we paid the £200.

They were warned the competition might overrun on FOUR previous calls and accepted the business.

Only that the boat was delayed the dancers would have missed the boat whilst the driver and the emergency contact at the coach company argued and demanded the extra payment. We live on the Isle of Man, travel is not easy.

The driver was also rude to one of the dancers fathers, left the site despite confirming when booking that they would remain on site with the luggage still onboard. When the coach company called me, they told me he was exceeding his driving hours. This wouldn't be the case if he hadn't driven off as arranged.

They then changed the story to shift hours - again, when booking we were clear about it being an all day event. If this was an issue, they should have declined to keep the driver there all day and arranged another driver for the return trip.

I couldn't believe when the coach company then hit us with a fee, a fee nobody had told us about for £200 when they were warned in advance this competition was out of our control and may run over. Not only that, but the coach driver has moved the coach and wouldn’t answer calls resulting in delays looking for him - which again, AtlanticTravel Coaches are trying to charge us for.

Dreadful service causing unnecessary stress and upset and putting a complete damper on a wonderful day for our dancers. Several of our dance kids suffer with anxiety and the parents were also worried about missing our boat.

We have now just received a further invoice for £210!

If you're looking for a reliable, trustworthy and honest service, avoid this company!

Our driver was very friendly, the coach was clean and lots of space for my students to relax during their journey. Our driver was even kind enough to give us an extra 30 minutes due to our event running over schedule. Great service.

Long coach trip to Cornwall on Rugby tour and the coach, the journey and especially the driver 'Peter' could not of been better. Excellent experience.

Thorough and attentive booking coordination with Dave, reasonable prices for last minute journeys. All coach sizes as expected and recommended in advance to meet our requirements. Very prompt and communicative drivers, flexible to nature of NYO activity and small changes on the day. Comfortable, pleasant journeys.

Areas of improvement: too many automated emails on every booking!! with links for editing details that didn't always work. Could link up communications to be less emails with same degree of attention to detail. Unnecessary hidden fee for small changes of times after initial booking.

Excellent experience, Micheal our driver was superb, extremely friendly and engaging making our group feel really welcome. Micheal brought us back the scenic route as our group wanted to take photos at the border and he shared some interesting facts along the way.
We really appreciated it.
The coach was very comfortable too.

Scam company do not used paid for a coach to Alton towers they cancelled a few days before as not enough people booked the coach and they are not offering a refund I even bought my Alton towers tickets from them and now I don’t think it is even a real company or they are even valid just took £126 off me scam do not use

Do not rely on The Coach Company as your transport for Alton towers! They keep cancelling due to shortage of passengers. And their customer service are awful. Alton towers tickets are non-refundable; so if your coach is cancelled they let you know like 4 days in advance and if you can’t find an alternative transportation, you’ve lost your ticket money too!😠

I booked a 53 seater for an amateur sports team. The communication pre travel & on the day of travel was great and the coach was modern and clean. The driver was polite and the whole process ran smoothly and on time.

I made a booking for a kids football trip and paid a deposit. Several weeks later I was sent an email stating the booking had been cancelled for "circumstances beyond our control." No other information was provided.
My deposit will also take up to 7 days to be returned.

Thankfully I have been able to find alternative coach transport with a local - and hopefully far more trustworthy - company for the same dates, at a similar price. I should have done that in the first place. Our football club shall not be using thecoachcompany.co.uk again.

The coach company provided excellent service for our charity hike to the Peak District last summer. The booking process with Warren was easy and smooth and the communication leading up to the trip was top-notch. The coach arrived on time, was clean and comfortable, and the drivers were friendly and professional. We would definitely use this company again for future trips. Thank you!

I booked the coach company for our girls trip to Liverpool, they were amazing from the start great price great communication and on time both times for pick up and drop off, I would highly recommend using them and I sure will be again.

Our driver, Naz was punctual, polite and nothing was too much trouble. He assisted our disabled passengers with confidence and explained exactly what he was doing.
Great trip and hope to have him drive us again.

Recently used this company to escort staff to a colleague funeral. The driver was exceptional and incredibly kind to a group of travellers who were emotional and suffering the loss of their leader. He was patient, compassionate and engaging when called upon. He willing stopped for breaks and enquired often about everyone's well being. He is a credit to this business. Company was also easy to deal with and empathetic. Restored my faith in human nature.
