This feels like intense sunburn. I can't imagine goung to bed and getting to sleep after putting this on. My skin is very red, itchy and on fire. Shame. I was looking forward to it. Will be going in the bin.

Even though I washed this off after a few minutes the burning sensation was painful and the whole experience very stressful. I ended up using ice packs!! How can this be sold over the counter!!!!

Agree with the other reviews. It literally felt like someone had poured boiling water on my skin. I looked down to see if the hot water was running. I then showered with cold water and used tons of shower gel to try to get this weird oily product off my skin. I still have red burn marks. So glad I didn’t put on my face.

Why is this on the market? De-stressing, I don’t think so.It feels like sunburn. Really unpleasant burning sensation that takes ages to wear off, you can’t even wash it off. Horrendous, scary experience

I have never written a review before but had to with this. This is LETHAL - I have used this today, following the instructions and honestly within 10 minutes I felt like my skin was on fire, comparable to steam burns everywhere I had put this. I have taken two cold showers, which made the burning sensation even worse when trying to scrub this product off. I use warming products daily (OTC and prescription strength) for a severe ankle injury and have never experienced anything like this. The only positive is, yes it does take the pain away, only because you are so focused on the pain you no longer notice muscle/joint aches… every cloud I suppose?

Burns. A lot. Applied all over expecting a soothing moisturising experience and gradually felt like the sun was trying to seep through my skin from the inside out. Several showers later and the burn pain had washed downwards. Suffice it to say I no longer want ‘special time’ with my husband later. Ouchy.

This is not warming it is painful and burning. Showering it off was almost as painful. Nothing de-stressing about this. I thought my skin was going to fall off!

I have just had a terrible experience with Sanctuary's de-stressing warming body balm. It's not warming. It's like proper burns like when you scald yourself on the oven or a hot pan and your skin 'sears' in pain. I have no idea how something like this is on the market. The pain is awful. If anyone is reading this please don't buy this as a gift for anyone. I got mine as a Christmas gift and have never in my life felt this much pain ... in fact, the burning is similar to the pain I felt in labour if I'm honest. It was an induced labour and the burn felt very similar.

This product is great if used correctly, it has given me the best nights sleep I have had in god knows how long, use the smallest amount as it really packs a punch and only on areas it is needed where your muscles hurt or are tense.

I used it like a body lotion the first time and I felt like I was burning but after only applying a small amount to my legs, feet and shoulders it worked a treat. Some areas are more sensitive than others, causing it to feel like the heat of a sunburn without the irritation and pain from contact, as you use it more you will develop a taste for that burn as you crave the peace and relaxation afterwards.

As a chef I'm on my feet all day and this has been a god send over the Christmas period and helped me be able to get up in the morning without limping from my feet hurting.

Try a miniscule amount of this product in a small area and wait once you know how it feels you can decide for yourself if the heat is worth the outcome.

Painful Sanctuary Spa walming balm.

This product should be recalled. It is painful and causes burning, similar to severe sunburn. Concerning to think that there is no clear safety message, especially as unknowing adults or even children could pick this up to try without thinking to read the tiny warning information on the back.

Paid for next day delivery on 21st of December still not received it now. Emailed them and all sorts still no reply or no item. Need shutting down.

The warming balm shouldn't be sold. It's a very strong deep heat and this isn't mentioned clearly enough on the tube. A small amount has been used but the burning is still going three hours later

This product should be recalled. It feels like second degree burns are occurring on my hands. They see both red and overly heated.

I used their Sanctuary Spa Wellness De-stress Warming Body Balm last night - this product needs to be called something else. I use a lot of warming products after sport for sore muscles and decided to give this a go - it is not destressing and certainly not warming - my skins was on fire after applying it, I had to have a cold shower after to try and remove it, but it was still hot for a good hour after. There is directions on the rear of the packet about not applying after a hot shower, to patch test it and use sparingly - however I strongly feel that the product should be renamed and a warning placed clearly on the front. I was very disappointed as we have used Sanctuary products before and they have always been amazing.

Horrible, poor customer service. Refund policy states "You have the right to cancel this contract within 14 days without giving reason." I contacted them to return a gift I had purchased and was asked why. I provided the reason which was that the person I bought it for didn't like the smell of the range and was told they wouldn't accept a return as the product had been opened.
They didn't ask me if it had been opened, which it hasn't. Do they not realised their products are available in other stores where people can smell them?

Complete stupidity. Wont be buying anything from these people again.

If you are thinking of purchasing any item from Sanctuary Spa DONT! You can find better options for cheaper, the creams are too heavy, the smell does not last long. Plus, don't buy this on the Sanctuary web site they will try to get you to spend more money by tempting you with a FREE GIFT which you will not receive as they have the "Only one discount can be applied! If you get any of the offers like 3 items for £30 you will not get the FREE GIFT! Also if you are planning to ask for a refund on the website you will need to pay the return cost this is the standard automated email reply: "I can confirm that it is stated in our Terms and Conditions that we can only apply 1 discount per order. By placing the order with us, you have confirmed that you agree with them.

I will no longer recommend this brand as good as it is you can get similar quality for a cheaper price.

Customer service is horrendous and though I adore the products, I am going to stop buying from this company .
I was promised a free gift to be se g out and it never arrived.
Then on my second order , free gift missing again .
I msged ref the warming balm which burnt my skin and had a rude response asking loads of questions and felt interrogated.
Seriously this customer services has put me off buying in future as it’s just horrendous and rude

This is the kind of response you can expect when you are giving Sanctuary Spa Customer services the ultimate opportunity to fix an issue and preserve their customer relationship.

I'm very sad to be writing this but I still haven't received the remainder of my order which was purchased on 3/05/2021.
Im shocked at how Sanctuary treats their customers.
I'd like the situation resolved now, as this is just ridiculous.
Please refund my money, as there is clearly no intention of sending me the product. (after numerous emails promising to send)

Its incredible how you can knowingly turn an advocate into an extremely upset customer and lose their future business and all faith in your brand.
