Love it!…
The whole experience has been great from the ordering to shipping to receiving my new bike. I absolutely love my vorsa.! I think it is a very well made bike and a great value.
I LOVE my Roadster V3!
I LOVE my Roadster V3!! I was looking for a bike that did not look like an ebike but had some extra zip to help me get around traffic. This bike exceeded my expectations! It's fast while still being nimble, it's light enough that I can carry it up and down stairs if the need arises and it looks cool! The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because one of the tapped bolt holes for the optional rear rack that I ordered stripped out while trying to assemble.
Great bike and riding experience (truly), but had 2 out of pocket issues on delivery process.
The delivery process went smoothly. Assembly wasn’t too bad. Two relatively major issues I did have were: front brakes needed bled right out of the box (I had to pay a shop out of pocket) and spokes on the front tire had almost no tension in them on delivery (paid a shop out of pocket for tensioning as well). So that was about $120 dollars that I spent to have those two issues fix right off the bat. The bike itself now rides great. Shifts and pedals smoothly. Pedal assist feel basically seamless, which is impressive. Overall I’m pleased with the quality and ride of the bike itself. But those two out of the box (and pocket) issues kind of started me off with a bad taste in my mouth. I was considering ordering some after market stuff, it would be nice if ride1up gave me a credit for the $120 I paid just to get on the road.

My bike isn’t as good as my first one
My bike isn’t as good as my first one. The motor stalls and it has clicking noise. Support won’t email me back to fix it.
Pros and Cons
Assembly did not go well so ended up taking it to a bike shop. Tech support was unable to help. The bike seems to function well. Have only had it a few months so can't speak to longevity of the bike. The seat was hard as a rock so will have to spend more money to get a comfortable seat which should come with the bike. Love the blue color.
Great Value, But Early Issues Hold It Back
I recently purchased the Ride1Up Vorsa and overall, I do like the bike—but there have been a number of small issues that add up.
Out of the box, the bike was very well packaged. There was a lot of protective material, which I appreciated. Despite that, my front brake rotor arrived noticeably bent. I contacted customer service, and they responded asking for a video to review and mentioned they would offer a plan to resolve it. They also suggested I try bending it back in the meantime.
I did manage to improve it using vice grips, but it’s still not perfect—I can hear and feel it slightly when braking. As of now, I haven’t received a follow-up resolution beyond that initial response.
Another issue I’ve run into is the handlebar stem loosening during rides. About every 10 minutes, I find myself stopping to tighten it with an Allen wrench, which means I now have to carry tools with me at all times. Thread locker may fix this, but it’s something I didn’t expect to deal with right away.
There was also some confusion during assembly. The instructions mentioned a derailleur guard that wasn’t included in the box. Additionally, I initially thought the rear rack mounting was misaligned, but customer service clarified that it’s actually a design feature, not a defect.
As for the ride itself, acceleration from 0 to 20 mph is impressive and one of the highlights of the bike. That said, it tops out around 20 mph, which was surprising since I expected closer to 28 mph as a Class 3. The ride is also a bit rough, likely due to the lack of rear suspension combined with the bike’s weight.
At the end of the day, the value is still there. It’s cheaper than many alternatives, and that does factor into my opinion. I would probably buy it again—but only because of the price. If there were a comparable option in the same price range, I’d likely go with something else.
Vorsa Lite Purchase and assembly by Roland Perry, Sacramento, CA.
Was able to visit Roland Perry in Granite Bay for a local test ride. Excellent experience all round. Rolands knowledge of a number of R1U models was invaluable in helping me make a decision. The Vorsa Lite met all my expectations and is value for money. This bike has everything I need plus a few accessories. Perfect in every way, weight, power, battery quality, smooth riding and much more. Local support drew me in.
I like everything about the bike except…
I like everything about the bike except that the front wheel is not trued and has a bit of a wobble... I have bought the tools to fix it but I shouldn't have had to.
Apart from that it is the best bike for exercise that I could have gotten. I use it all the time.
So many STUPID problems
The battery only works properly between 100% and 40%, and they say you should only use it between 80% and 40%. So it's really only half the battery it claims to be.
The battery jack is in the worst possible place, hard to reach, hard to see, down low where it can get water in it, and the rubber flap doesn't stay closed, even if you don't kick it while pedaling, which you will. The cable head only orientates one way but there are no markings to help with that. It's like it's purposely designed to be difficult and to fail.
The display is very stupid; instead of numbers for power levels, there are colors that are not in any particular order, and names like "tour" and "eco" that don't mean anything and don't appear to be different anyway. Important information, like battery eg., are very small and hard to read. You have to press a button to see other information like odometer.
The custom Ride1up paniers don't fit properly and mount too close to the pedals. You will kick them.
The inner tubes are cheap and have a 50% rate of failure on first inflation. This is not unique to this model, but ride1up in general. I've had 4 fail at 35 psi.
Tires are good. Seat is good. Frame is well balanced. Motor is powerful. Good breaks and gear changer.
Replace tubes and have a bike shop guy true the wheels - $200-300, if you grease every nut yourself.
5/10 could have been way less shit, but choices were made.
Vorsa is truly the do it all ebike !
I've been riding the Vorsa for 90 miles now and all I can say is holy cow. This thing is incredible. Amazing battery range, it makes every hill look simple and gives me enough space in the back to carry stuff that I could need. It's also a beautiful looking bike. Highly recommended!!
Great build, look, just slower than advertised
Even the email solicited in the survey quotes 28 mph for the top speed of the road but that’s simply just not true. Electrical assist stops at 20. The motor and drive train are brilliant, the battery is perfect for the slender design. The bike looks great and I get a lot of compliments on it. My only gripe is that it doesn’t go faster like it’s advertised.
Ride1Up builds very high quality bikes at amazing prices!
Ride1Up builds surprisingly high quality bikes of all kinds. I've owned a Roadster V.2 and now have the excellent Revv1 FS that I'm breaking in and accessorizing. They have strong customer support and seem to almost anticipate my questions. The only very minor issue I've had concerns a rear rack for my Revv1: it arrived missing a critical part, a complicated custom two piece bolt, which they have been unable to supply for several weeks. The rack was unusable without this bolt designed to make the final attachment to the bike frame. (Hint, a stainless steel 4.5" x 5/16" bolt and Nylock nut work fine). They are a top notch e-bike provider! When I shop for a new bike, this is the first place I look.

I have had 4 different bikes in the last 10 years, the Vorsa is the very best . I absolutely love it. I bought the suspension post , which makes the ride so comfortable. It has a lot of power. I am so excited to have many adventures.

Roadster V3 needed minor alignment (rear axel slightly rubbing disc brake) but otherwise good as received. Very prompt shipping. All components worked well, with battery life surpassing expectations (possibly 45-50 mile range). Fun to ride and easy to operate, good assessment at at all levels…although top speed pedaling I think was about 25 mph. I will have many enjoyable years riding this bike! Recommended!
This is my second bike from Ride1Up
This is my second bike from Ride1Up. My first was a LMTD. Although I really liked that bike, I was never quite happy with the frame geometry and look. I was able to sell it to a good friend and I bought a Trailrush. This is the bike I wanted all along! The buying experience has been great on both purchases! I had a small issue on both (missing a stem head cover on the LMTD, they shipped me another…on the Trailrush I couldn’t get the seat dropper post to work. A couple of back and forth emails and some tinkering/adjusting on my part, and now it works perfectly!), but the customer service dept handled both. The quality/value equation on these bikes cannot be ignored. Simply put…this is the best e-bike you buy for the money. End of story.
Maybe a good bike but you’ll have to pay extra to have it working because it will come broken
So far I’ve ridden 20 miles. The front disc brake rotor came bent so it rubs. The back tire will not hold air and the pedals and gearset and bottom bracket rattles and clanks with every pedal stroke. In order to get this bike working I’m going to need to shell out hundreds of dollars to have it work.
Roadster V3 low step belt drive
We ordered two Roadster V3 low step belt drive bikes. The assembly process is straightforward and easy if you closely follow the included instructions. We also ordered two adjustable stems since they are not included on this model. We discovered that the only way to remove the old stem is to cut two sections out of the plastic under the stem so the cables can be removed. To install the new stems, the plastic on them has to be cut also for routing the cables. No instructions were provided for installation of the new stems. Customer Support verified that the plastic had to be cut to install the adjustable stems. I used epoxy to cover the area where the plastic was cut but it is obvious that that work has been done there and I worry that moisture could still get into the fork tube area. This is a flaw with these bikes. We had other less important issues that have been resolved. In retrospect we should have shopped more carefully but so far we are happy with the ride and performance of the bikes.
Best E-bike ever. I Love my Portola!
I am so happy that after almost a full year of research, I have found the best (in my and many other opinions) best e-bike Ride 1Up Portola. I have waited two real snow storms in NYC and finally rode my Portola for a full week. I have asked their website with the 24/7 online tech and they have been incredibly informative and on point. I can’t wait to ride it now in the nice weather. Daily commutes to work are an amazing!
Tires are cheap shit
Some parts of the bike feel cheap. Bell, pedals, and tires. My bell broke somehow after using it twice. And my front tire got popped riding over a literal thorn. Not “durable”, as advertised, at all. The front tire didn’t come trued, so you’ll need to do that when you get the bike as well.
Once you upgrade the shit stock tires, bell, and pedals. It becomes a pretty fun ride. But tires popping from a thorn were a bummer. That was a $220 dollar set back.
