This company won't pay your reservation to the hotel
This company won't pay your reservation to the hotel and you'll have to pay a second time at the hotel.
You know things are sketchy when the company website has a page titled "Is Reservation Stays legitimate?"
The site says "Our award-winning travel booking platform has been featured in the New York Times, Bloomberg, Conde Nast Traveler and dozens of other press outlets."
Searching for any press coverage comes up empty, and award-winning? Only that the company has terrible customer service scores across all trust-based websites.
Stay away...far, far away.
Travelers be ware
Travelers be ware. Not only are all the other reviews for this site true, but they have another tactic on top of posing as an honest destination site but they may do to you what they did to me. I made a reservation with reservationstays.com believing it was the web site for the hotel I wanted to stay in. When I arrived at said hotel with the print out of my reservation I was told that my reservation had been canceled by the booking agent and no reason was given. I had to pay for the room all over again. When trying to get reservationstays to refund my money they said that I canceled the reservation and refused to refund my money and did not respond to my further inquiries. Do not be fooled into using this site.
stay away from this company
Try to stay away from this company! That can be difficult because your reservation may look like it is through Expedia.
Due to circumstances the general manager of the hotel graciously canceled my reservation and approved a refund.
I followed the instructions that I received from Reservation Stays and they continue to deny my refund and required more and more conditions.
Stay away!
Avoid
Arrived at my hotel to be told that I had booked and been charged two single hotel rooms when I had confirmation for just one as I intended. Ended up paying double. The hotel said this had happened before. I thought I had booked through the hotel website and was surprised to hear that my booking had been through Reservation Stays which I had never heard of. Reservation Stays have not engaged with complaints at all
Scam Site and Scam Refunds
Scam Site and Scam Refunds
I thought was booking directly directly from Four Points but turns out this company uses sketchy marketing tactics to pretend to be the direct website. I accidentally booked the wrong date. I paid for the refundable option which when I booked which made it seem like it was truly refundable, but some sketchy refund site that they use said it wasn't refundable. I admit, I was duped by this one. NEVER USE THESE SCAMSTERS!
Avoid this company
We booked a hotel on Reservation Stays website that we discovered later by chance, no longer exists. Our confirmation showed the name of the non existent hotel, but was told they could not send a corrected one and not to worry, as the booking was confirmed. Our teenage son was travelling alone in transit in New York and we were compelled to book another hotel as we had no confidence in our original booking with Reservation Stays and could not risk our son being turned away from the hotel. They have refused to refund our payment, but we are disputing the charge with our credit card, who say that the wrong hotel name on our confirmation alone is enough to get a refund.
Scam
Scam! Scam! Scam! Reservationstays.com booked a hotel room under a name that I never use for any type of financial charge. They used PayPal for payment. When I got my credit card bill with this charge of $498.94, I tried to contact them. No one answers the phone, you have to leave a message. I left 4. No return call. Emails also never responded to. I contacted the hotel and they told me they had never had a reservation under the name reservationstays.com provided. I don't know how reservationstays.com got any information on me. Possibly my phone was hacked in the Dallas Airport. Fortunately, after filing a dispute and a claim, PayPal was able to void the charge.
This is a bad one
This is a bad one. I tried to make a Marriott reservation, the site appeared legitimate one.. they even charged me $100 more for fully refundable option. I paid $1100 for five nights. I got a confirmation in seconds. I called the Marriott about the confirmation, they said the confirmation number is not theirs. I even tried the HQ Marriott reservations. They have no record of it. They said, someone must have cheated me. When I tried to call the fake reservationstays.com number, I was in waiting Queue line "181". At their website, all the cancellations, customer service links didn't work at all. My computer was warning, they are malicious. I was waiting for my turn for two hours and finally one lady "Sam" agreed to cancel my reservation, but refused to refund the $100. She said it is the company policy not to refund the "reservation guaranteed protection payment". My understanding was this payment helps you to cancel without any penalty. It's bogus company. She found it hard to explain why this amount was charged and under what category she is not refunding. She was profusely apologetic, but she was not willing to refund. I insisted that she refunded $1000 while I was on phone. She said I should wait 3-5 business days. I got the actual charges for the room, not the $100. I reported to my credit card company. Beware of this scam, this is unlike other Hotels.com or other third party middlemen, one may lose all the money. In spite of all this extra full refund protection plan charge, what I understood from "Sam" was I was only given time to cancel within 48 hours for full refund (actual room charge) from the time of making reservation. Typically when one makes direct hotel reservations, where one gets full refund for cancellations 24 hours before the check in date. I am not surprised why this one gets one star as far as customer reviews and their personal experiences are concerned.
If I could give them a 0 rating I would!
If I could give them a 0 rating I would!
I reached out by email on Tuesday for 3 invoices, but I only received 2 of them on that day. I immediately sent a reply email, but all I got was an auto-reply stating that the ticket has been closed. I tried to re-email, but only received the auto reply message. Then I called the number provided at the bottom of the email, but it just gave me a busy signal and hung up. I tried this multiple times on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, thinking that there may just be a temporary issue with the phone line, but the same thing happened each time. During this time, I also attempted calling the other number listed on the original booking, but that didn't go well either. The wait times were horrendous (hours on hold), probably because frustrated customers like me have to call multiple times just to get a response! I made four calls asking for the missing receipt to no avail. The first time I got through and was assured that the receipt would be sent to me via email, never received it, I called back the next day, tried again, nothing! The third time I got to position #1 in the que, but I was disconnected and had to call again, AND THE 4TH time I finally made it through the que and when I was put on hold, they disconnected me instead. BTW I still haven't got through...on my 5th attempt, fingers crossed no one hangs up on me!
AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!
Update: 5th time is the charm! Finally got the receipt, but had to spell my email address 5 times! WOW!
TOTAL SCAM
booked the hotel with reservationstays, they took my money, made the reservation but never paid the hotel. so the hotel charged the room to my credit card. When the hotel called their customer service and reservationstays told them that they have no record of it. -TOTAL SCAM!
TOTAL SCAM - HORRIBLE WAY TO DO BUSINESS
TOTAL SCAM. Okay, yes the people I booked for were able to stay at the hotel and yes we saved money but at a horrible expense! The way this company goes about it -- sending you in a horrible loop when you call their support number, they told me I was number 46 in the queue! Then they called back at 10p so of course I did not get the call. They hang up when you call half the time, and when you enter a reservation # it keeps saying they can't find that #. Who has the time to go around and around when needing customer service? And the way they disguise that you are on the Marriott website is despicable. :(
This company is a scam
This company is a scam. Better and safer to sleep on the street than use it for accommodation. It disguises itself as the hotel website but is not, it manipulates its users to exploit them to the maximum extent. The cancellation insurance option is a further scam that ends by refusing to refund the credit card used for the transaction and asks for your bank account details! I regret using this service and have no intention to give them my banking deals.
No issues and will use again
I told myself if my booking went well I would leave a review so that anyone else who booked through reservation stays wouldn’t have the dread and panic I had after reading the bad reviews.
I like others thought I was booking directly with the hotel however when the confirmation came through it was from reservation stays so I was confused and decided to google reservation stays only to be met with negative experiences so naturally I panicked and rang the hotel to see if they had my reservation. It took a few days for my reservation to show on their end but both the hotel and reservation stays said this is normal when booking with third party sites. I spent the next couple of months sure something was going to go wrong with my booking right up to the day of checking in. The reality was there was no issues my worry was for nothing and reservation stays actually saved me a small fortune booking through them as the hotel itself was £110 more expensive due to it being within close walking distance of a sold out concert venue which I was attending.
Reservation stays is legit and I would most definitely use them again.
When we got to the hotel the booking…OVERCHARGED
When we got to the hotel the booking was in my name but with an address and phone number in India.I live in South Carolina. The hotel was great no complaints there at all.Our bill for 1 night was $134.00.That was our hotel receipt. My credit card was charged $184.00 thru this site!!!!
This company disguises itself as the…
This company disguises itself as the actual hotel website as if you are booking directly. I booked a resort and upon arrival at this resort I was told I was actually booked at the resort next door. I tried calling the customer service line as this resort stated that this has happened several times this month. I tried calling and every time was disconnected. I had to pay an additional 560 American dollars in Mexico in order to stay at the resort that the rest of my family was staying at. After arriving home I have tried several times to contact the customer service department and every time they disconnected the line! This is a SCAM!! I am looking for compensation but can not get anyone to talk to me. DO NOT BOOK through reservatios.com EVER!!!
SCAM ALERT, THINK TWICE
A storm knocked out power where I live and in the surrounding cities on 6/25/23, so I went to book a hotel and was directed to reservation stays. They booked my family to stay in a different city at Admiralty Suites & Inn on 06/26/23 and after loading up the family and dog, we drove to the address on the booking. Once we got there Admiralty Suites & Inn had changed names to Motel 6 and was closed due to that city having no power. We continued for another hour drive until we ourselves found a hotel that was open and operation power. After staying there for almost a week, I contacted Reservation stays back told them what happened and requested a refund back from where they booked me that had changed names and was closed with no power. I sent them a copy of my bill of where I did stay as they requested and the tech support department closed my case stating that I did not send them a copy of my bill of where I stayed. I got the run around about the refund and they kept saying they have a no refund policy. So, I said that your company booked me in a different town to stay at a hotel that didn't exist at that location anymore and was in a different name and was closed due to power being out. This sounded like a shady business to me and fraudulent because you took my money and booked me at a place I did not chose and was closed. All they would say was I am sorry, we have a no refund policy. Looks like I will be contacting my local police department and filing a fraud report against the company along with contacting my bank and filing with them also. While on the phone with Janet, I heard a strong sound of wind blowing and asked if she was outside and she said no, was working from home. I said it sounded like shady business or even if the business existed. Don't use this so called company for booking. Scam....I'm waiting to see if I get a refund because I told her the only other choice for me to do is contact Law enforcement and the Bank.
This company is an absolute SCAM
This company is an absolute scam booked hotel here in Australia (we are Australian) and the website looked as though it was the hotel we were looking to stay in quoted in AUD but when we got the voucher it also included additional charges but looked as though it was AUD.
When the amount came through on the credit card it was all in USD and was twice the advertised room rate.
Made a complaint the robot named Jannah provided some noise about cancellation and then closed the ticket.
A SCAM !!!!!
SCAM!
DO NOT EVER EVER EVER BOOK WITH RESERVATIONSTAYS.COM!!!!!! It is a total scam. They have disguised their website to make it look like you are on the actual hotel website. Their website says FREE CANCELLATION when you book but they do not offer refunds if you need to cancel. I spent 37 minutes on hold one time and 33 minutes on hold another time. The first time customer service disconnected me. The second time, the agent was like a robot and said the same thing over and over again without addressing any of my questions or issues. If you leave your number for a return phone call, they will call you back but disconnect after it rings one time, assuming that this allows them to say that they called you back and allows you to see their return call phone number in your missed calls section. They do not answer the emails sent to the customer support email address provided. Basically, you CANNOT talk to anyone about anything, yet your money has already been taken.
Customer service was terrible
The customer service was horrible. After making a reservation for one night, I later on needed to add an additional night. This simple routine task was beyond their ability to do. Even worse was when I sent an e-mail for help, they did not read my e-mail very well and answered a question I did not as, and did not answer the question I did ask. When calling them on the phone, they had the option to get a call back instead of waiting on the phone. Twice, when finally getting the call back, the call hung up immediately and I had to get back in the phone queue. This happened twice!
