We like Pento as our payroll system however, the process hasn't been as smooth as we would like. Team members are great for supporting us however, the product itself needs a lot of improvement.

We've now been running our UK payroll with Pento for 6 months. In this time we've gone from spending several days running and checking the payroll with a traditional payroll bureau to less than 2 hours each month with Pento.

Since switching to Pento our pay queries have also dramatically reduced as the HR system integration reduces the need for manual intervention. We've seen an increase in employee satisfaction with payroll as a result.

As with all systems, issues do occur, however the team are very responsive and tickets are resolved very quickly.

It's quite a big change from traditional payroll processing, however I would recommend Pento if you're looking to get more control over your payroll and reduce the amount of time spent on your payroll each month.

Really functional, easy to navigate and all round good system who are constantly looking to continuously improve. Staff are actively checking in and making sure you're getting the best out of Pento, and will try and change things to cater to your companies needs. For someone who was new to Payroll, I immediately felt like I could navigate myself around the site. Some minor improvements needed but they actively look to fix.

Absolutely great payroll service. Integrates with various of our systems such as Bob and Xero, and they are also very quick and efficient to respond to any queries we have when it comes to doing our payroll. Highly recommend!

Great experience with Pento so far. The payroll process is a lot smoother with much less manual input. The Support team have always been responsive and resolve queries promptly.

When first moving our payroll to Pento we had a few challenges. The software was new and still in development - we had some problems with the integration to our HRIS and other bugs on the platform.

However the team at Pento worked really closely with us for a few months, taking on board our feedback and providing lots of hands on support to help ensure our payroll was correct each month. They also offered expert advice that helped us improve our own internal payroll process and knowledge.

We’re now in a great place with running our payroll through Pento - it’s smooth, efficient and accurate.

We feel really confident using Pento and we highly recommend them.

Wish we hadn't switched

Unfortunately the issues are endless and the customer support isn't timely and isn't great.

Issues:
- On boarding uploaded wrong, employees mixed, errors in the data
- Pension integration doesn't work, constantly fails, I now need to do a monthly manual rec and as such are constant behind on pension payments
- They upload different figures to HMRC to payroll reports, almost proving impossible to reconcile and always now with late payments.
- March HMRC payment, they have taken and not paid to HMRC....
- Entire payment failed for no reason, had to reach out to a developer on Linked to get them to take a look as the customer support is so unresponsive.
- Customer support blames you, rather than the issues with their software
- Payslips are not consistently sent
- No communication when something goes wrong.

Overall on the face of it a great product, but issues that make it unworkable, we will be looking to move again as soon as possible.

I have no previous Payroll experience, but this system is perfect for me!
It is super user friendly, the contact us page come back within minutes, and the whole team are really helpful. So many shortcuts and tools to make processing payroll a lot easier

Pento is so intuitive, easy to use and understand - even for people like me with little payroll experience! The support and customer service is excellent, should you need assistance from the team, they are happy to help and guide you with anything you need. Pento makes processing pay for 400+ employees easy and manageable - don't know what we'd do without it now!

I was initially, very nervous about changing payroll providers and bringing it all in house, but I am now so happy we did make the switch to Pento! We had a great experience throughout onboarding, and great communication and support from the Pento team. Taking on Pento has transformed our payroll into something we actually look forward to completing each month! It is easy to use, and a quick and painless process which literally reduced the amount of time we spent on payroll 10 fold! As an HR professional, I learned a lot more detail about running payrolls too, so professionally I have up-skilled significantly by using this tool. Highly recommend!

Jeg forsøger at få adgang til indberetninger mm. for 2021. Adgang er lukket ned, og tal til revisionen kan jeg ikke få adgang til. Når jeg forsøger at ringe, er der ikke adgang til tlf. Man svarer ikke på chatten. Men har samtidig rejst et større beløb fra en ny aktionærkreds. Tillykke med det - de penge skal nok blive formøblet i en fart, hvis dette er niveauet.

Pento is the best platform out there in the UK. We assessed sage and payfit also when looking to inhhose payroll, but we went with Pento and couldn't be happier. Integrates with our HR stack really well, saves a ridiculous amount of time

I have worked as a payroll professional for over ten years and have had the opportunity to use many systems with relatively high numbers of employees. Pento is definitely the most progressive way to run payroll that I have encountered. Being so use to running payroll in a certain way, it was exciting yet daunting to experience a new way of doing things.
Traditionally there are two ways of managing a payroll: in-house or outsourced. With running payroll completely in-house on a stand alone software it can be a worry to ensure that you have actioned all of the necessary obligations i.e. Standing data updates, FPS and EPS reporting, Tax code changes, student loan notices, BACS processing, pension reporting (I could go on!). On the flipside, with fully-outsourced payroll you have little visibility or control of the accuracy of the data being input, with spreadsheets flying back and forth, and long processing times which means that the inevitable last minute changes are a struggle to process correctly. With Pento you get the benefit of visibility and control, without the need for archaic manual work to do. We are fortunate to have an integration link with BambooHR so all of the changes made to employees information are transferred seamlessly to Pento with payslips transferred to Bamboo and emailed out to employees on payday. They also integrate with HMRC so tax code changes and reporting are automatic.
As with any system implementation, there were a few speed bumps in the set-up but their support team go above and beyond to help. We have now run 5 monthly payrolls with Pento and the amount of time I have saved has been invaluable. All of my queries (and there have been quite a few) have been dealt with in a timely fashion, with any feedback I give I feel is appreciated and taken on board.

I am grateful that Pento has seen the requirement for technology innovations to be implemented in the payroll world and delivered a product that solves many problems. I look forward to a long professional relationship with Pento, and will enjoy to see their system only improve upon the already fantastic foundations.

Using Pento makes the entire payroll process seamless from start to finish. The software automates calculations wherever possible, like mid-month joiners and leavers. The ability to integrate with other HR platforms, means we can pick the best combination of software for us.

I can no longer imagine running payroll without Pento.

Before we started using it, our process was not transparent at all, difficult to coordinate as multiple parties were involved (Ops Lead, People Lead, accountant), we had limited access to payroll system and couldn't make edits ourselves, a lot of things would be lost in communication, etc...which would sometimes end up in employees being paid incorrectly, and take a huge bite off the trust all payroll-handling parties had in one another.

Pento solved this all for us, to the extent that when I moved to a new company I ran straight to them asking if we can sign up to their services. Because I know that it will:
- Save a TON of time for me (hours per month, and potentially more when the team grows)
- Have all the information in one place
- Offer continuity (no more switching payroll platforms if we change accountants, no more accountants switching payroll services without asking...)
- Integrate with our HR tool and have all the payslips there for team to access without having to log in to a different service
- Have world class support, no matter what questions I have
- Potentially be available in other countries we expand to (fingers crossed)

Probably a few more things that I left out...But as a user of Pento for over a year, I am/will be raving about it to whoever will listen.

So, I used the service in 2021. Pento then stopped offering their product to Danish customers. Now I need the documents for my bookkeeping for late 2021. However, my account seems to have been deleted, and no response from their support desk despite several polite inquiries.

Vi har netop modtaget en mail fra SKAT, om der ikke er blevet indberettet korrekt for 19 forskellige perioder over de sidste 4 år, hvilket har resulteret i en bøde på 19 x 800,-

Alt sammen noget Pento.io sagde de ville stå for. De svarer ikke nogle steder, og vi har derfor tænkt os at gå af de juridiske veje. PAS PÅ - ET STORT SVINDELNUMMER.

Jeg har haft utroligt mange problemer med Pento. Flere gange har de ikke indberettet korrekt til Skat og jeg har også oplevet at få tilsendt helt ukorrekte lønsedler.

Der har også været fejl på hjemmesiden nærmest hver gang jeg har skulle bruge den.

Når jeg bliver frustreret nok til at skrive en dårlig anmeldelse, er det fordi jeg siden 22. september ikke har hørt tilbage fra dem på min anmeldelse. Ikke så meget som en enkelt besked.

Sagen handler om en skatteindberetning de ikke har lavet korrekt engang sidste år, som nu gør at Skat tilbageholder en større sum penge. Jeg har selv lavet indberetningen, da jeg jeg havde ventet på Pento over en uge, men jeg skal stadig have dem til at betale mig det gebyr på 800 kr. deres manglende indberetning har kostet.
