2020 we paid for your assistance…

2020 we paid for your assistance dealing with our CLC timeshare case. We paid you £5000

You told us it would take a year, then another year and almost 5 years later we wait. We understand the process of courts and finding assets, but was assured that February 2025 would be the phone call, offering the settlement figure. This was when the courts had ordered clc to make the payments by.

Since then silence. Did you have any successes, why aren’t the good reviews coming in from payouts? All I’m reading is the same things, not good communication and you always reply blaming the client for not being available on the phone. They have paid you, often thousands for this representation so why aren’t you emailing them or trying harder. If my law company reviews looked this bad and I was a genuine company with real success I’d do all I could to rectify that. The assumption and what we have been told now is that your company earmarked all or a lot of that payout for yourselves. I hope I’m wrong because the realisation that I’ve thrown good money, after bad is very sad. We trusted you. Please do not respond with….please email us to see what has gone wrong here like you have on all the other posts. What has gone wrong is you have gone quiet since the ‘big court’ result??? I haven’t missed you either I am waiting for your call.

CLC is doing everything they can to slow things down to achieve exactly this kind of reaction and hope that people will give up. Most claims companies have. We won't. Even though we are losing money from these delays we won't give up on the case

Successful Exit

We recently concluded a potentially difficult exit from the membership of the timeshare company we joined some 20 years ago.
This was facilitated by Patricia Criado Navas, Senior Lawyer at M1Legal who was exemplary in her dealings with ourselves.
We would also like to thank Sarah at Admin, who helped with rationalising some of the difficult issues that confronted us during the process.
We would have no hesitation recommending them to others.

Be very careful

Be very careful, they work in conjunction with the Holiday Parks Advice Centre and ECC (European Consumer Claims). The initial presentation seems very promising and reels you in. I heard a radio advert about static holiday parks and how you may be able to claim back monies when the park have bought back the unit at a fraction of the cost you paid for it.
After nearly 90 minutes on the phone you are shown some projected figures which you may get back and costs.
They wanted over £5000 upfront costs and the claim could take 9 months to a year.
This is when I said I wasn't comfortable paying upfront costs.
Then the operator offered another payment option.
I then terminated the call.

money paid, NO ACTION ECC and M1 Legal working in cahoots

We also were in contact with ECC to solve the CLC issue, we paid a large sum of money for M1 Legal to conduct court hearings etc etc, it appears they sent the details to the UK for the receiver who is dealing with the collapse of CLC, and have done no work as was advised for the fee. They also sold us the service AFTER the date when it was not possible to use the commercial court they promised to use. We also have been waiting years with no updates or action dispite promises. I would be interested if we can form a group for a denouncia or legal action against this scam

The reply from M1 speaks volumes....... Not only do I have the contract with ECC who use M1, ECC phoned me after their below reply..

Do Not Use ECC or M1 Legal !

Back in August 2022 I was initially informed through ECC that it would take M1 Legal a year to get a pay out from Anfi however it’s been over two years now and there’s been hardly any communication from them at all. 

The last communication I had from M1 Legal was in February 2024 when my lawyer called me to say the payout would be “any day now” however I still waiting….

They initially they tell you that a pay out will take 10-12 months..

The only sensible conclusion is that this is a financial scam run by actors !

Do not use them !

Hi Deborah. This review is unfair and defamatory. You need to get in contact with ECC. Also, you talk about no contact. Did you know that you can also call us on 0203 769 8882 or email us on admin@m1legal.com ? However before you do, you need to talk with ECC. They have called you multiple times. You have not answered or responded to their messages.

To anyone reading this, it is an ANFI case. ANFI have been fighting hard to avoid paying what they owe their victims. Our very hardworking legal team have worked for a year longer than expected to make sure clients like Deborah are not disappointed. We have not asked Deborah for any extra fees for all of this extra work, even though we have honoured the contract and more. Contractually we could have given up on this case long ago, but we believe in fighting for our clients and our own reputation.

All we ask in return is a little gratitude and appreciation

Update

We started our case in March 2021 and still waiting for it to be resolved so almost 4 years now. I have two other friends claiming and nothing happened with there case also. I think we have been very patient over this but now starting to loose heart 🤔

Thank you for your response, I have phoned and emailed you on a few occasions and to be fair you have always responded but four years down the line seems a little long, below is your response while I accept these things are complicated we would like some sort of time frame as we still have to keep up with maintenance fees.

We would like to inform you that, unfortunately, we are still waiting for the Court of Appeal to schedule a date discuss and rule about your case.

We understand the significance of your matter and are actively working to address this situation. Our team is in regular communication with the court to expedite the process as much as possible.

Sorry but looking at our claim I was mistaken as it was filed March 8th 2019 so on Saturday that is now 6years and no closer to being resolved I think we paid around £5000 and are no closer than we were then apart from having to pay or fees under the advice of ECC. My advice would be if you wish to try and claim find a company with no win no fee than at least you will not be out of pocket. I have asked for a meeting face to face as I am visiting Spain for a couple of weeks shortly, will let you all know what is said.

NB: Where more than one person brings a claim in respect of the same timeshare (e.g. where it is jointly owned) all of those named thereon will be "The Client". Whilst this contract refers to the "The Client" the singular should be read as including the plural and the masculine references will include the feminine.
In the event of a jointly owned timeshare (or any other timeshare related asset), where all named parties are not present, the person signing / entering into this contract warrants that he has authority to do so from all the named owners.
WHEREAS:
A. "ECC" is a company specialising in Timeshare / Holiday Ownership disputes, working in association with lawyers and other industry experts to pursue compensation claims on the basis of (including but not limited to) mis-selling and misrepresentation of timeshare and to assist with the disposal of unwanted timeshares.
B. "The Client" entered into a contract/s dated March 2009 with Marriotts Playa Andaluza for the purchase of a Timeshare / Holiday Ownership.
C. "The Client" wishes to appoint "ECC" to act as his claims manager in respect of his dispute(s) arising from the purchase of his Timeshare/Holiday Ownership, regardless as to whether these dispute(s) involve the developer from whom the timeshare was purchased, the marketer who sold the Timeshare/Holiday Ownership, the financial institution which lent money towards the purchase and any other third party involved in the transaction. Where the client is an existing timeshare owner "The Client" also wishes to engage "ECC" to assist with the disposal
Yes I have contracted in a few occasions, we are waiting for an appeal hearing lodged after it was found in our favour this is some 8 months ago now I think. I have requested a resting or call to update on where we now are at and will keep everyone updated.

M1 Legal are supposed to be acting for us gainst CLC WORLD

M1 Legal are supposed to be acting for us against CLC World. We were NOT advised that they were already in administration and that it would take 3-4 months for our claim to be paid out. They requested £6K up front which we paid. Now 2 years down the line and still no sign of anything.

Oh hell I have been waiting 4 years.......

Oh hell I have been waiting 4 years and have given them £5k, I have asked for a copy of the call in September where I was promised my money in January.... I also want to see the court documents..... How can this happen? They cannot get away with this scam so we need to make it public..... I will report back when I hear from them tomorrow..... Now armed with all this information......

Sadly disappointed

Further to my review from December 2024 I received a message from ecc /who m1 are the legal department of
So in my opinion they are one company with different departments
I was asked if I could reconsider my one star review after I was in receipt of my refund of the deposit I placed with them in order to start a claim against clc world
Well I cancelled the agreement and decided to cut my losses after reading the reviews here and I thank people for posting them and hope that this and other people’s experiences will help anyone who falls for their silver tongue chat
I have not received my deposit back yet and when I have tried to make contact with the correct department the emails are being ignored and the customer service telephone number is not available
So I appreciate ecc is not m1 legal but the whole system is set up by ecc and then refers to m1 Legal to persue
It would be good to hear that someone got their timeshare outlay refunded in the end after paying out thousands more in the hope of a positive outcome

Hi Mrs Walsh. You cancelled your agreement and we are refunding your £150 deposit. We are within the 30 days allowed for processing the refund. I don't mind asking the accounts department to prioritise this for you as I can see that you are worried. But writing things like this doesn't help. it could give other people the wrong impression that we don't refund our cancellations and is therefore damaging to our reputation.

Think twice before entering into an agreememt

After hearing an advert for ECC/M1 legal about getting mis sold a timeshare I decided to contact them. At first they couldn't be more helpful. Once my fees were paid I have heard absolutely NOTHING. I have requested an update on several occasions and still NOTHING. It seems that once they have your money, you are quickly forgotten about. I put my trust in this company and here I am at the end of another year no further forward. My last update was my claim was in the next group that was going to court. I was also told that I should hear back before the end of the year, and here we are on the last day of the year and have been let down once again. I feel hugely disappointed as i became disabled in 2019 and can't work and my husband is the only one who works so paying these fees were very difficult for us. The reason I bought into a timeshare was because the sun helped my disabilities, now I can't use it, I've lost a lot of money on that PLUS the fees for M1 legal. Since entering into the agreement with M1 legal I've had no extra cash to afford to go abroad meaning that my disabilities have gotten progressively worse. My honest opinion is think twice before entering into an agreement as you will be promised the world beforehand and then left hugely disappointed

**CHECK REVIEWS FOR ECC, M1 LAW, & M1 Legal **

ECC and M1 Legal. Also in the last year, under the name of M1 Law. Complete waste of money and time. Spent approx £5,000, still waiting 8+ years later. Lost our Marriott weeks due to the 'advice' given. Was even threatened with legal action, if I displayed my previous Review that I was pressured to remove, 9 months ago. Absolute nightmare. Claimed we 'won' 2/3 years ago and then at Appeal stage for all this time. Joke. Gutted I wasted money and time that I did not have. Given up contacting them after over 50 times to hear endless 'reassurances and NO ACTION. 8 + Years LOST WEEKS & MONEY!!

M1-EXE16/03/2021/1113409ECC/C - Started with this process in 2021 there has been emails and I have proved all relevant information. I have been dealing with someone who did return my emails but has now gone very quiet. In July on my account it was posted that after going to court the case is now closed and archived so where do we go from here. The UK phone number advertised is also dead as I have tried to phone. Very frustrated and annoyed.

Beware of the M1 Legal and ECC alliance

Our Timeshare company went into liquidation in Cyprus so we approached ECC to see if we could make a claim.
They were very positive (of course) and thought we had a good case..
They wanted the Legal Fee upfront so we paid them £6500 (big mistake) and were assured by the woman there that we would get it back.
I queried this with her but she further assured me that the fee would be returned without giving much detail.
The case was then referred to M1 Legal.
Things then dragged on for nearly 2 years and very little seemed to happen unless I contacted them and that seemed to get them to have another look at our file and move things on a bit.
I presume that the length of time that it was dragged out gave them some justification for the Legal Fee
Eventually they did manage to get a settlement from the Finance Company who were used for our initial purchase but this was rather less than the Legal Fee.
When I contacted ECC to request the return of the Legal Fee I was eventually told that the woman we originally dealt with had left the company we could not get our money back.
I don't think there was any intention to go after the Timeshare company at all so it was a complete waste of time and money
The fact that it didn't go to court should have kept the Legal Fee to a minimum anyway.
Beware of these people and do not pay any money up front.

Over 8 years with no outcome is totally unacceptable

My husband and I signed up with ECC in March 2016 and paid £7500 in legal fees upfront and were informed M1 Legal were dealing with our claim. My husband and I visited their offices in Spain and were given copies of everything to date but it is beyond a joke that over 8 years later there has been no outcome. My husband died last year and now I feel they are waiting for me to die so they can keep 100% of the claim.

So I'm now really puzzled

So I'm now really puzzled. There are reasonable, sceptical questions and queries on here regarding the validity of M1 Legal. Mine were placed on here after 8 years of taking them on. In response M1 provide statements of how they're managing reviewers' cases, but never do we see M1 legal call upon one of their supposed, numerous success stories to give some assurance and place a bonefide, good review of M1's performance on Trustpilot. If M1 Legal had won me £££ I'd be willing to sing their praises wouldn't you? So I'm puzzled - where are they and where's the independent validation?

Hi Michael. We have explained this as best we can, by phone and email. You have won your case. CLC are fighting tooth and nail to avoid paying what they owe you (and owe us). They have to pay. They can't avoid doing so. But they can delay, and that is what they are doing. Don't worry, M1 will continue fighting until CLC have no option but to pay. They have vast swathes of luxury real estate as assets.

As you can see this was set up in 2021 we are now 2024 and the first claim was lost and now the second claim is in, now I have sent email request a few times now this year and there has been no update from m1 legal WHY?
There is a word Claim “recue” from in the last update in February 2024 what does the word mean from my client area on you web site
Should it be “rescue “?
Are your firms M1 legal and ECC really trying to get the compensation they “sold” to me in 2021, looking at the time period it’s been a long time
On your web site re OUR VICTORIES
Are they real and can I have some proof they are real and not blown up! / fictitious.
And on the web site my case is stuck on the 19 step and has not been updated since 19 10 2023.
Why has not this area been update as your wording promises?
I now seriously doubt my case will ever be resolved by M1 Legal. I feel utterly let down.

Hi HERME1. You have placed this review on a Sunday when our offices are closed. I will look into this first thing tomorrow morning. All of the M1 victories are listed on the m1legal.com website by the way. With case numbers etc.

UPDATE: This client has been with us for 2 and a half years. The average time length is 18 months, so this is longer. The downslide of averages is that half of all cases will take less time, but half will take more time. HERME1's case has unfortunately taken more time.

UPDATE: I have just spoken to "HERME1". His case is progressing exactly as it should be. He also has direct numbers and emails for myself and contacts at M1 Legal. For anyone else struggling with the Client Portal the direct number for M1 Legal is 02037698882.

Yes certain of these CLC cases (including yours HERME1) are taking longer than anyone wants, it costs us a lot of money in legal fees with every extra month, but you will never be charged those fees and we will keep fighting until we all get our rewards.
