Getting the euros was very easy and straight forward. I pay for most things with my credit card so i didn't even consider using my debit card sadly to pay for this. So yes you guessed it on £700 euros I have been charged £21! My own stupid fault.

Good exchange rate but mostly received 50 euro notes.
The exchange rate was very good, at the time of purchase £1 =1.15 euros. However, I ordered online to collect on Tuesday 21st July and when I arrived in store, it was not ready. On top of the order being late, 250 euros was in 50 euro notes, hardly ideal given that I was travelling to Montenegro and very few businesses were able to break into a 50 unless I made a significant purchase and there was no option of changing them. Unfortunately there was no option to request particular denominations online, perhaps consider implementing this feature so that customers are not given unusually large notes that are difficult to change.

Great for smaller amounts of currency
Reading bureau provides an excellent service and I use it throughout the year for Euros and US Dollars. Rates are competitive and you can have whatever denomination of notes you require. Would be very disappointed if bureau were lost as the online £250 minimum amount would mean I would often have to go elsewhere.

Cardiff Store - currency
I called into the Cardiff Store. A JLP partner immediately asked if she could help and arranged my currency there and then. I did not have to wait. It was quick, convenient and professional.

Ordering was easy, collection a nightmare
Ordering was easy. Collection was a complete nightmare. It took 6 staff to open the safe with all sorts of excuses being made. Then once they opened it they asked me for the payment card I’d paid on, which I didn’t have, I was able to show them the transaction in my bank account. There was no apology for the inconvenience. Very unprofessional. I won’t be buying my currency from John Lewis again
