My premium went up from €170 to €200 per month this year. A considerable amount for a senior citizen.

Irish Life Health has been a revelation regarding our health entitlements. Advisor was very knowledgeable, no nonsense, straight and factual. Very easy to understand, no bells and whistles language. Exactly what we need ,we feel covered and safe. Like the integrity of the company and staff. To top it off, I needed a procedure, reassured, I was covered by advisor, went and had a trouble free operation. So reassured now both my wife and I.

Every year they charge more and more for policies that have less and less cover. This year I've noticed they are applying new excesses and refusing to pay out for items that should be covered. Example: My policy is meant to cover 5x €15 prescriptions. Suddenly I've had a €10 excess applied, and subsequent receipts refused despite them having all requested information (have never had this problem before, so clearly it's just an attempt to pay out less for what customers are entitled to under their policies).

I would give zero star reviews!! I have never ever experienced an insurance company to be so bad on every single level. Their customer service, the amount of mistakes and discrepancies they have made, no continuation whatsoever, lack of transparencies, extremely bad and poor customer services and training of their employees. I have given them every single information needed I have rang numerous times with absolute no help from them, I have asked numerous times for someone to call me back and also to speak to a manager every time I was refused with no answer given. I have paid close to €2200 per annum for my policy with this shockingly bad treatment and behaviour by Irish Life. ThenI was told a "Pre-Audit" was being done on my policy for no reason then they changed it to an "Audit" without notifying me. No claims processed for over 4 months, no updates, just completely ignored. It took them 4 months to do a "Pre Audit" and would have taken longer only for I contacted the Odbudsman. I have spent so much time and added stress to my life. They have continuously lied and have messed up my policy numerous times and with claims to now being told this evening my policy has been cancelled with no explanations whatsoever now or throughout this to support and this contact is only because I had no choice but to contact the Ombudsman and they demanded a response by today's date. Absolutely shocking and disgraceful behaviour from a "health insurance company" and to add unnecessary stress to a loyal customer who has done nothing wrong and has done everything in her power to give everything that was asked. I will be speaking to Liveline and also my solicitor regarding this. Irish Life will not get away with this behaviour and to treat any customer in this way is disgusting. Shame on them, horrible company! To cause all this extra stress and upset to a customer also who already has so much stress, grief, trauma and loss. Disgraceful!!!!

Experience with Irish life advisor was great. Good knowledge of the staff attending meeting online. Staff able to answer any question we’ve had. Excellent service
