Incredibely slow processing time.

I have been writing back and forth with them for a few weeks now about a pretty standard process. Every time i write it takes 5-10 days for them to respond on the same thread.

AVOID. It's a scam. I had a car accident and spinal surgery and they gave over 5 different reasons not to cover each time to waste time. It's been nearly a year and I'm getting the bills after the surgery now. They hope you just go away. They said my surgeon filled out the wrong side of surgery on the forms. Need to prove I had a car accident etc etc. However now they are saying it's preexisting condition or a condition not previously covered by them? I have had to undergo the headache of recruiting a legal team to dispute this. I'm a doctor and have experience in the field the surgery was in. I know they are waffling around with terms to try and put me off.

Excellent service dealing with all aspects of claim

I am very concerned that Irish life issued a euro cheques to me in the UK whilst their team are fully aware English banks no longer accept overseas cheques only transfers. This can only be a payment delay tactic. Be Aware, even putting an IBAN number on the claim form does not prevent them from issuing a cheque.

My overall health care and claims have been dealt with since I joined Irish Life very satisfactorily.

If I could give zero stars I would. Paying for this for years, and thankfully haven't needed it. But I injured my back and physio is included in my policy. I am now 6 weeks trying to get this sorted. No communication. No updates. Recommended me to a physio that did not know what their Back Up program was, and wanted me to pay. Received a feedback review, and gave them a terrible review and still no contact. No remedy. I now give up. I will pay for my own physio. I will never use these again. Avoid. Go to VHI.

My experience with Irish Life Pensions while attempting to draw down my PRSA has been frustrating and unnecessarily prolonged.
I submitted all requested ID and bank documentation at the outset. Despite this, I was later asked to provide the same documents again, with no clear explanation. This duplication caused avoidable delays.
There is no clear ownership of claims. Communication is inconsistent, often repetitive, and does not move things forward. Every query triggers a standard response quoting a 10 working day turnaround, which significantly slows even simple follow-ups.
I was initially told in early February that the process would take approximately 6 weeks. This timeline was not met. Instead, after months of correspondence, I have only recently been informed that payment has been requested, with a further 10–15 working days for processing, and an additional 3–6 weeks for taxable elements.
Accessing one’s pension should not be this protracted or unclear.
Based on this experience, I would recommend that others consider alternative providers for their retirement funds. The process I encountered was unreliable, unnecessarily drawn out, and does not inspire confidence in situations where timely access to funds should be a basic expectation.

From my experience irish life much better to deal with never had any issues with claims and where always sorted quickly offer much more cover for cheaper than any of the other health insurers
