A painful experience trying to sign up…
A painful experience trying to sign up for motor insurance. Add that to the anecdotal evidence of others trying to make a claim and I would not recommend to others.
Zurich or one big switch' fault?
I'm done with this site and it may be because of Zurich, I've repeatedly checked on here when my car insurance is up for renewal, go though all the questions, fill in everything, just to be told that it can't be completed online, because Zurich just want to ring me up instead, well sorry, that's why I'm using an online option, because I don't want to have a bartering session on the phone, it actually puts me off signing up with them, I input the info, you give me a quote, I sign up or don't, simple, totally pointless and very frustrating

Hell No..
Flowery yum when signing you up .. under pain of death-dont make a claim - cause that's what it feels like, they set their hound dogs on you to try & peel your skin off & sell it for profit (not literally)...would prefer pins in my eyes that ever deal with these awful people again...

I have paid income protection for 10 years. 3 years with Zurich i got very sick in 2025 and with company doctor written advice and my gp advice i was not allowed work. I am still suffering and with the added financial burden. I want to work i want to be better. I've been waiting on my claim out come which as my GP states clearly shows im not fit to work. Furthermore the co. Doc would not let me go back to work so legally I can't. But Zurich who I thought were ethical and honest do not see mental health and severe trauma as an illness and state i should be able to work. But pray tell how can I when even the company doctor said no..... so all the money I spent on protecting my income and being risk averse wasted by the Zurich money grabbers. Complete waste of money and the claims team was condesending, curt and short and their customer skills left a lot to be desired when i called her on it she apologised but there was an air of you are the stupid public. No one has ever spojen to me with such condesending behaviour. But shell get promted as she made a quick buck for the company. Round of applause Kate hope you can sleep at night. I can assure you ill remove all 5 products i have with Zurich another money churner with no customer compassion. I was discriminated against due to mental health not being a reason not to work. Back to the 1900s. I was left for dead at my most vulernable. Pls do not but income protection from them look at the stats they wont pay out. And as of today i still cannot get out of bed.
DO NOT GET YOUR INCOME PROTECTION WITH THEM. THEY WILL NOT PAY.
im left with a serious illness due to work and Zurich will not pay when i paid 155 euro a month for many years and wont give me my service.

I thought everything was fine with them, and even after sending several emails, nothing changed the above title made things better and allowed a complete turnaround and refunded in full
No replies, no way to contact, can't process payments
Tried paying multiple times and every time it wouldn't work. Tried filling in a quote and wasted a huge amount of time doing it... painful experience. Their sales rep Shauna emailed me after ringing but then wouldn't reply to me. Like why bother? Can you imaging having a crash and then ringing this lot.
Despite having 7 years no claims
Despite having 7 years no claims, my insurance renewal has gone up over 400 euro over the last three years.
Zurich will also not insure electric vehicles, despite offering electric vehicle insurance.
Avoid, avoid, avoid.
I took out insurance for Booking.com…
I took out insurance for Booking.com reservation. I got sick could not go on my travels. I was asked to get paperwork by my doctor and Booking.com to state the above. I did and they still kept asking for more information like what sickness. It did not state to get a factorial cert. Very disappointed in customer service, do not get insurance with this crowd.
Household Insurance with Zurich
I took out a household insurance with Zurich Insurance Company for a period of 3 years. I got excellent value for money when I compare the cost of my policy against home insurance policies offered by six other insurance companies. I had seven years without having any claim and Zurich rewarded that fact by offering me a three years policy at a very competitive rate. When I contacted Zurich Insurance by telephone I was treated with courtesy, efficiency and respect. The lady I dealt with was highly efficient and she did not use any of the persuasive sales pitches I experienced when I contacted other insurance companies. All my questions were answered expeditiously and in some detail. I received a promised callback the following day and I received my home insurance policy by post within four working days. I'm sorry but who takes 2-4 days to register to member portal in 21st century, that's crazy. Also had to chase after a simple query to get my policy number for two days.

My house insurance has been with Zurich for 4 years quoted €475.21 this year. 3 years no claims on this house. I’ve got the exact insurance for €300.10 from one of the leading companies in Ireland and the UK. Beware that you have not signed up for auto renewal. I turned 70 last December so maybe some older people trust their insurers to give them a fair loyalty deal.

My husband and I have a whole of life insurance policy with this company. We took out the insurance policy with Irish Life and then it was passed on to Zurich. Since we came to this company they keep upping the premiums and now it is out of control. I keep reducing the payout but they keep increasing exponentially the monthly payment. They refused to accept that my husband and I no longer smoke, when I rang them to tell them the agent said that I sounded like a smoker and there was nothing he could do. We have paid in more than either of us can receive in a payout. We are both pensioners and nearly 400e per month is way too much to pay for 60k on death.
No reward for loyalty on renewals
No reward for loyalty. I have been with Zurich for over 8 years now I have 13 years driving experience..no penalty points no claims basically a no risk insurance customer. However each year their quotes go up. this year was a ridiculous jump of over 150 euros. While looking at other quotes from all other Irish insurance companies...all came in at least than half what Zurich were quoting me for renewal with no difference to the cover particulars. Some even are much better like offering courtesy cars on breakdown etc. I will be moving away from Zurich as soon as my insurance is due for renewal in two months. I would not recommend this company as they have no respect for loyalty. I would recommend that others shop around as there is no benefit being with zurich compared to other Insurers. I'm able to get the EXACT same cover. Word for word...for 400 euros less. Every year I call them after I get my renewal quote to demand that they reduce it and they have done in the past but the quote they offered me is still 350 higher than the most expensive from ALL other Insurers in the republic of Ireland! Just putting this out there for anyone considering Zurich ..don't ..
Revenue error.
I have a Zurich annuity pension. Revenue encountered a technical error on Revenue's online account system . This was resolved due to the patience and determination of Zurich pension payroll team. Very good service from Zurich.
