An absolute terrible excuse for a company. I've had service with them for over a year and they randomly just shut my power off and sent my deposit to the wrong address. When I called to ask what the deal was, the AI automated messaging is an absolute incompetent system, but I would expect nothing less from them. I finally got ahold of an outsourced person after 42 minutes, and she finally got my service put back on. Little did I know, she just made a whole new account and I had to pay a deposit again which I didn't know. So when I made my payments, they were wrong and sent back after they were not accepted for a week. So now can I not only pay online, I got returned fees for their stupidity. Just a terrible company and definitely not worth using if you can help it. Unfortunately they're the only company in my area and they know that. But just a terrible, inferior excuse for a company and I wish them nothing but the worst.

First off its almost impossible to talk to a person. The automated system keeps you going in circles even when you hit 0 or ask for a operator it tells you its not a valid selection.I have had 2 accounts for almost 4 years.
I have arrangements on 1 of my accounts. This is only the second time ever and have paid those arrangements earlier than due. The other is current and never had so much as a arrangement set up on it or even been a day late.90% of all my payments to them have been 2 weeks early! Now they added a 302 deposit adjustment on my bill due in 2 weeks.
If I could pay the 300 I could have paid the 150 bill without the arrangements. I have had power in 7 states and this is the only one I have EVER had issues with. This is a absolutely horrible company and customer service is the worst.
They would not even accept smaller payments to make the deposit up. They would only give me a number for a government assistance office to help pay the deposit.

FPL Energy Service Company in Florida are nothing more than empowered thieves.
They got me involved in an FPL Budget Billing that I never asked for. This is not a program, this is THEFT!
Once you realize your bill is higher than what you consume and call them and cancel this supposed program, they will want to charge you hundreds of dollars over your regular bill.
I have applied to stop FPL Budget Billing several times since December 2023 over the phone and online, as well as through the website link. But they still overcharge me too high average monthly amount. The last statement was about $1105 a month. For any reasonably calculated investigation, this is not the annual monthly average. This looks like a fraud.
Additionally, on January 18, 2024, FPL charged me two amounts over the phone ($399.46) and a second amount via link ($314.37) with confirmation emailed. But this amounts never received to my FPL account.
After 10 days they sent a Note via email that the payments were returned, but the return amount was different ($832.37 instead of $713.83). The customer service rep on the phone said there would be a discount if we paid the full amount, but after receiving the return notice, I called back to the SAME FPL Phone NUMBER, and they said that FPL never gives any discounts.
After I called to Wells Fargo Bank rep, but Wells Fargo rep conformed that the payments was processed successfully and never was returned to my WF bank account. Looks like it's FPL fraud.
And FPL still demanded that I pay double the amount for the last month and the new month.
When I tried to call customer service, they could not explain to me why they were charging me too much on average per month, why they have not received my payments from my wife's VISA Checking account since January 18, 2024.
Again, the Wells Fargo office’s Representative said that the payments were successfully processed and were never returned to my account.
In addition, they have still not stopped my FPL Budget Billing for three months since December 2023. I had to file a fraud report on my WF bank account and get the amount refunded. But FPL continues to charge me a very high amount per month.
Also, when FPL makes payments or asks for all supporting documents to be sent back, they never provide a return address for the reply letter. Each time they give me different addresses and deliberately confuse the numbers. And they don't have a local office throughout Florida...that's very strange.
Those, me and my family found ourselves in a very confusing and unprotected situation. We cannot contact to the FPL Main Office directly and personally and send all supporting documents to be protected ourself from FPL’ fraud as well.

FPL is nothing more than authorized thieves, they involve you in programs that you never ask for, like the supposed Budget program, (gentlemen, this is not a program, this is THEFT), once you realize that your bill is more than what what you consume and you call them and cancel this supposed program, they want to charge you hundreds of dollars above your regular bill. I wish I had studied law, I swear to God that I would spend my entire life unmasking these thieving monopolistic companies. If there is any law firm that wants to sue them for this theft, which apparently I am not the only one that has happened to, count on me. Someday their time will come, everything in this life is paid for and I hope they pay for it in the worst way.

FPL has one of the worst websites I have ever used. It occasionally will stop working and provides the same screen no matter what tab or option you click. There was another time where I was directed to FPL Northwest which I never clicked and made sure I didn't. Because if you're in the wrong region, it won't recognize any information. It is also very slow. Please invest some money into customer service. Utility companies usually have a local monopoly so there is no pressure from competition to improve this. Just get a functioning website, the company can afford it.

Be careful with their scam ‘ they tell you their budget plan saves you money on the average bill. It’s false they actually rip you off for 1000”s dollars per year . We just found out each month they double your actual billing usage . My office warehouse avg 68.00 per month they bill you 128.00 for my condo 120 more than the usage they bill 211.00 don’t fall for their scam they take your money and won’t give you any credit once you inform them you found out what they are doing . Be aware of their scam on you.

FPL's Surge Shield Protection Plan is the biggest SCAM I've ever encountered. After paying approximately $20 a month for years, FPL conducted a power reset on 12/03/2023 which was confirmed by FPL via phone call. My refrigerator stopped working and I put in a claim. An appliance technician repaired my refrigerator and he said it was due to a brown out. I sent FPL all the necessary forms including the receipt/Invoice with the technicians comments. But according to the FPL SCAM claim department, I did not submit all the documentation correctly. I needed a sworn statement signed by the technician including his name, license, address, email, phone number, and why he thought it was FPL's fault.
It took me hours to decifer their claim process and now I must find this technician and ask him to fill out forms. Of course the technician would not. FPL SCAM then sent me a dozen pages of disclaimers. The fine print was outrageous! They are not responsible for any damages due to acts of weather or God! And by signing up for the Surge Shield SCAM, you waive your right to any litigation. I can go on and on, but I think I've said enough. Don't waste your money on this SCAM because you will never be reimbursed.
Started my FPL electric in March 27th
Started my FPL electric in March 27th, 2023 we payed our first fee to turn on the electricity in my home and ever since never got a letter, a call, or not even a bill online to pay. For months we have been trying to contact fpl, however failed. It has been very hard to contact them. Now it is October 5 of 2023 and the bunched it all up and expect us to pay 1,500 dollars by October 25th. This is ridiculous and I will be contacting my resources and will discuss this with the higher ups.

FPL did not disclose, in their eyes a minor item, that if you ask for an extension, they consider it "late", AND if you have 2 or more extensions in 6 months they charge you another deposit on your account!! What the hell! You offer help to your customers but then you ding them a couple of months down the road because you took them up on their offer. Garbage company!!

I spoke to four different persons who could not explain my billing. My last billing said that the Florida Public ServiceCommission had approved a new fuel reduction effective July1, 2023. My billing instead of being reduced, went up each month. The last person I talked with put me on hold indefinitely (43 minutes until I hung up anyway). Rude, overpriced, and uncaring -- that is my summary for this company.
FPL has a monopoly! Please give us other options
Your company has a monopoly over the counties in Florida. It may be legal b/c it's county vs state but it is still a monopoly. My wife has our account under her name. However, I pay the bills and would like it under my name so I can have it sent to my email etc. so I can view statements and pay my bill. It is nearly impossible to get a hold of a real person to only have them tell me that I need to pay a deposit and they will have to check my credit. It should be illegal to have to run a credit check. But, b/c you are a monopoly.... you can make the terms and require these outlandish things. As a consumer I can shop around for all other utilities, insurances, but not electricity. Why not?!

On an international call for over 30 mins trying to find out when my service and meter will be connected only to be transferred to someone else, who then appeared to deliberately end the call. Agents were clueless. Total waste of time and money.

If their AI is any indication of where we are headed then we are in serious trouble. Tying to circumvent the AI is mindboggling. Last year I had a downed wire. But I had power. The computer had no understanding of that. When I reached someone she too said I don't know how to report this? She was as baffled as I. A few days ago I was hit with a scam from someone pretending to be from FPL. What made it worse is they had information that only someone from the inside could have known. First they asked for me, then my dad. I added him to my account because he had trouble with auto pay. He was banned from using it. (that is another story) Thankfully I was by the bank when I got the call so I stopped in. Thank you Gaby from Chase because she undid the ban. Downloaded the FPL app and reset everything. Then went to my dads. I had called him earlier and made him call the guy back to get more info. My dad was on the phone when I got there and handed it to me. I was trying to reach FPL directly but was stopped by the AI. I also looked for current scams they might be having and sure enough this was listed. The scanmmer was trying to get me to zelle them. He explained how zelle worked (like I am an idiot) the best part was when I was asked to put in a code. Its placement was where the $ amount would go. Code number, 49991. Really? I reamed him a new A-hole and said things I can not type here. I finally reached a real person that confirmed my dads account was fine. Here is the bigger issue. What if my 93-year-old dad had used zelle like he was instructed? He too tried to call FPL and got nowhere. Why is there no way to contact a real person? I kept screaming fraud over and over until I got someone. Looking back on my phone I spent 4 min, Plus the scammer on the other line and my dad upset yelling in the background. I find it unacceptable for a large company like FPL to treat customers so poorly. Obviously I could go someplace else. Oh yeah, I can't.
What a horrible company
What a horrible company! This company is telling homeowners to keep their indoor temperature set at 78 degrees. 78 degrees in Florida! The walls would start growing mold in two days at this temperature. My street light was covered in vines and tree branches and was all but useless. I called FPL and they asked me if i have seen sparks!!!! If not then it is fine and they cant do anything.

Pathetic company...Been a customer for 20 yrs and can access my acct cause it always asks for my dead mother's SS#....She was nice enuf to call ahead when I bought this place so it would be on when I drove down from Massachusetts (20yrs.ago), but it left the acct under HER 1st name (same last name)...I am 64yrs old and my mother has been dead for 10yrs now.....FPL won't allow me to change the 1st name on the acct...I am tired of them reminding me every month that my mom is dead...I'm speaking with ppl with BROKEN ENGLISH on the phone that want ALL MY PERSONAL INFO INCLUDING MY FULL SS#...That's not going to happen...I gave them the last 4 digits which is what is needed for login...I also gave them my FL D.L. number....Then tell me they want $573 deposit to change the 1st name on MY ACCT THAT I'VE HAD FOR 20yrs now....I have EXCELLENT CREDIT BUT THESE PPL ARE NOT TUNED IN ENUF TO KNOW THAT SOMEONE WOULD BE OUT OF THEIR MIND to offer up your full SS#....especially to someone that ENGLISH is their 2nd language....THEY ARE THE ONLY PROVIDER SO YOUR AT THEIR MERCY....EVERYONE ON THE PHONE IS SO RUDE...they are reading off CANNED responses on their computer...NONE HAVE THE ABILITY TO THINK WITHOUT A SCREEN IN FRONT OF THEM...Thanks FPL for reminding me EVERY MONTH that my mom is dead....GOOD JOB!!!!!
