I was supposed to move from one apartment to another so I had my services transferred well I had a payment extension up until February 19th I believe well they use my deposit to pay the past new amount which was fine however the move didn't take place I had to revert my power back to my original apartment well they're giving me till January 28th on an extension and I just got a final notice in my email this morning they're going to cut my power off on the 28th I called Friday to find out what I could do to get some help here and I was told these organizations and they wouldn't be open till Monday how are you going to cut my power off after one day notice when I had an extension when they reverted everything back why didn't they give me the same original extension you people just you are heartless cold hearted bloody people we just had a snowstorm here nothing has been open this week you could do something to fix that policy to fix my extension to give me till the 1st but no you can't do that I'm a disabled individual I'm on disability limited income you want me to sit Monday and try to make phone calls to these organizations that will not answer their phones Florida power and light are a horrible company and I wish you'd never came in I wish Gulf power was back at least they would have a little bit of a heart to help you out Florida power and light you all you want is money money money you don't care who you fixing to leave in the cold disabled or not shame on you

FPL mixed up my next door neighbors address with mine because my number is the same but has A behind the number.My account was then closed and may take months to correct.Ive never seen such incompetence with a company and how is this allowed Never mind you can't reach a representative unless you call several times and they give you the same bullshit answers
Trying to get to a HUMAN at Customer Service
my poor review is with your on line service and then trying to actually get to a human being at customer service number. I was unable to add a new service on a duplex and a 2nd apartment that we own. It took me three days of trying and finally got to Kim who was helpful. I was NOT able to explain to her I had multiple units I was calling about as I was told to only answer the questions she was asking. She was able to help but it took a lot of FRUSTRATION just to get to a human on the phone. By the time I got to her I was literally in tears! The Online service, never resolved the issues. FPL was not recognizing one of the properties was a DUPLEX! As for the second unit we own, it never appeared on my On Line account even though I tried since the 30th of December to add it. Nor did we had service for the 3 days it was empty.
Florida Power and Light
FPL - worst company ever. They have a monopoly in our area so they could care less about the crappy service they provide. We have constant power outages and their policy (per Felicia and Jessica in customer "service" ("disservice "), is to not provide refunds for these ongoing problems! Horrible customer service and horrible company.
FPL MONOPOLY STRIKES AGAIN
Everything is wrong since FPL came to town and replaced Gulf Power. First, I started noticing that FPL was the largest contributor to our representatives. Second, I see that our representatives are allowing this power monopoly to continually raise our rates. Now, the FPL MONOPOLY has started fees for us that are getting ready to retire. This would be a negative star. This company is horrible!! They bully you to to automatic payments, no bill explanations, high rates, and will shut off power to your house without any notice. Its their way or no way. Looking forward to new technology to eliminate the need for power company. This company is horrible and makes me want to move just to not have to deal with them.

I have never seen such poor service and incompetence in my life. And I have lived in 3rd world countries. It’s impossible to conduct any kind of communication or business with FP&L. If it wasn’t a monopoly they would be bankrupt.
Ridiculous company
Ridiculous company, can’t get a human being on the phone for issues with account. Apparently I have 2 accounts, one old one that was with gulf power that they said I had a previous balance with from 2021 that they added to my current account and felt the need to shut off my power for lack of payment even though my bill isn’t due for another couple of weeks. I can enter my phone number and social number on phone automated site but if I enter the same phone number or social on the website site- it says there’s no account with those, even with same zip code. No of this makes any sense at all. Unfortunately we are stuck with this shitty service and they apparently are gonna raise everyone’s bills in 2025.
FPL TAKES FROM FLORIDA DISABLED SENIORS! SHAME ON YOU!
Fpl, sent me an email, wanting to charge me the 30.00, How can Florida allow them to do this to us seniors in on fixed incomes, it's sad! I paid on time, got a confirmation number and then found out just a numbers mix up with bank. I just called, have to wait until Monday, I have had a billing problem for months now, estimate my meter, which they updated and now they say it was never updated, YES it was. I wasn't even home for almost 3 months and my bill went up, HOW is that possible??? FPL, I need HELP with my BILL, METER, PLEASE!
I even called a number at corporate, some guy answered, was rude, said can't help and has to keep the line open and hung up. I wanted to give NO stars, won't let you. Worst experience with company ever!!! I also live alone and 100% disabled, so it's not easy to do anything, especially trying to go out and read my meter, good neighbors. I clicked the box below to let FPL get this review, NOTHING will happen, guaranteed!

Going thru life challenges .. Erica made my day as I was very anxious about the sky high electric bill that I had. She helped me patiently break down the bill so, it was more affordable for me to handle. I was able to get an extension. She was very, very pleasant, understanding, went above and beyond to help me out.
I thank God that she answered the phone.
Very satisfied all the way around
We have been through two Cat 3 hurricanes in North Port, Fl., in 2022 and 2024.
I don’t know of others’ experiences but personally I have nothing but praise for the way FPL handled both storms in this area.
We want to give a shout out to all the hard workers restoring the power, wherever they came from. Very satisfied with FPL all the way around.

I'm furious with FPL and I'm looking for a different power company. I'm so fed up with their poor Customer Service. I lost power since 10/9/24 and as of today 10/13/24 I was told my power probably won't be restored until 10/17/24. This is not acceptable!!! All the food in my freezers are ruined because of FPL'S negligence and they aren't willing to compensate me for the food lost. I don't have any food to eat at all and on top of that I have Pneumonia and I'm supposed to stay inside my house in the A/C. I'm not getting any better, but worse and it's so hard to breathe because I'm straight extreme hot heat. I'm looking for a different power company. I also made a complaint to the BBB on FPL because they told me that they wouldn't compensate me for all my lost food. I'm so furious how FPL keeps jerking all of us around instead of giving us acceptable results. This is the second time in about 2 1/2 months that I lost power and lost all my food and my A/C was damaged by a surge and I have a surge protection plan with FPL and they did pay for the surge damage to my A/C, but not my lost food and I spent $1200 to replace all the ruined food from Hurricane Ian and I can't afford to replace all my ruined food again for a second time and FPL should pay to replace it all this time. Nothing went wrong during Milton storm in our neighborhood yet Florida Power & Light Company decided to take advantage of the occasion to shut down our electricity service and with a simple "we are working around the clock to fix...." nothing because we have not even seen any movement or company trucks around. Definitely switching company with all these bad reviews that i just read too.

Worst power company I have ever dealt with. It takes an act of God to get through to report a downed power line and then you get to talk to one of several not so knowledgeable people.
Re-routing of grids ????
We never lost power during the storm, but 20 hours later FPL shut down the grid that services our neighborhood. They gave no explanation and wouldn’t give anyone an estimated time of power restoration. Many people depending on medical devices that require power thought it was okay to come home….only to have to return to the hospital. People trying to clean up from the storm were suddenly halted in their efforts. Need I say that this area has numerous African Americans in a section of the area.

Randomly turned off my Budget Billing
Turned off my Budget billing randomly without my request or authorization on 27 Aug 2024 for billing period of Aug to Sept. The agent did not leave a name. I requested a street light to be turned off and nothing else.
Had to request them to "submit a new request for budget billing." Now I'm not sure it will be activated in time for Oct 2024 billing.
Improvement: Budget Billing ought to be available to consumer on the Website & not require their personal submission to acquire.
