I purchase the power surge protection…

I purchase the power surge protection for my home when a piece of FPL equipment caused a 15 hour outage to our home the surge protector did not work and blew out my surge detector the protected my home system
They denied the claim that piece not covered

This has to be the worst run company in…

This has to be the worst run company in the state of Florida. I have a tree that was hit by lightning laying on the line that goes from the pole to the house. It's been sparking for the last 8 hours. Reported twice to FPL. They have no idea when someone would be able to help. And I finally got a person in India on the phone he was absolutely no help. God forbid Florida gets a hurricane because we are finished. 9

Hard to trust this company to do what they are supposed to do

I have unenrolled online for budget bill many months and they never unenrolled me. It took a while for me to realize I was still enrolled because I knew I unenrolled so I wasn’t looking for that. I had to call and talk to someone for thirty minutes and they had to unenroll me. Of course then I owed a balance whereas when I unenrolled I timed it so there was no deferred balance. I then asked how I could get the $150 credit for putting in a new air conditioner that meets their energy efficient requirements and they said I had to go through one of their companies, but I already had to do an emergency replacement because ours froze up. They wouldn’t provide a list of their covered people but sent me to a search that I couldn’t get past because supposedly the one we used wasn’t on it. I don’t trust the company at all to do what they are supposed to do.

Florida Power & Light SCAMS! My advice to everyone is to stay away…

My advice to everyone is to stay away from FPL Stress Free SCAMS!! They are anything but Stress free. I made the mistake of buying one their Stress free A/C systems 2 years ago and for the last 4 months my A/C has gone down every month and every time the A/C repair company comes out and they say it is something different every time. I’m paying thousands of dollars for a so called Stress Free A/C. First time out they said the system was just a little low on coolant. Second time it needs a new lineset ( there’s a few thousand dollars). Then third time it’s over charged with coolant they said. And none of the technicians knew that our thermostat has a recharge function when recharging the coolant. So now we’re in to the 4 month of this nightmare of an issue. This time they say the fan on the outside unit is bad. So they have to order a new fan from the manufacturer which of course is somewhere out of the country supposedly. SO THIS STRESS FREE A/C IS NOT STRESS FREE AND ON TOP OF THE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS I’M PAYING FLP. I JAD TO PLACE OUR PETS IN BOARDING $$$$TO GET THEM OUT OF THE HEAT. I HAD TO SPEND $$$$ ON PORTABLE A/C UNITS THAT DON’T WORK THAT GOOD. AND TO JUST TOP IT ALL OFF , MY ELECTRIC METER IS DOING LIKE MACH 8. MY ELECTRIC BILL$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ I will copy and paste this post on every social media platform and every community page I can find to warn everyone to stay away from FPL SCAMS!!!

What happened to FPL's great service?

FPL is no longer the company that provided excellent customer service. Barring evidence to the contrary, FPL has decided not to pay overtime to their service crews resulting in homes going without power for much longer than in the past.
Last night af 9:46 p.m., hours after the storm, a line came down that took out the power to our home and only our home. FLP outage map confirmed this. We were given a reconnection time of 12:00 a.m.; this time came and went so we called the outage line again for an update. The new time given was 2 a.m.; which came and went, then 3:30 a.m. we finally were able to reach a representative who told us "your ticket is next". Our next call revealed that they had changed the time again until 12 noon today.
We were repeatedly told that the "specialized truck" was on its way but upon its arrival at 8 a.m., it was a regular bucket truck. The technician informed us that there was a crew available until 11:30 p.m. the night before but that FPL sent that crew home, leaving us without power through the night.
Several more calls revealed that once again, the lie of a "specialized truck" was told to us until we said they were the same old bucket trucks we see all the time. Then it became a "specialized crew". Now though, the lie was that ten other homes were without power - a quick check of their power outage map proved the lie as two other homes had only reported power outages at 7:30 a.m. this morning AND were given a reconnect time of 10:30 a.m.; the other 7 homes were affected by the repair being done and had had power until that point.
After pointing this out to the supervisor we requested to speak with, the lie then became that the truck was probably sent out to an emergency like a fire or accident and that was why they waited nearly 12 hours to send out a crew to our home. I asked for evidence that that had happened and after being put on hold, the supervisor came back with the same old lies that they needed a "specialized truck" which then became a "specialized crew" when I stated that regular trucks were on our street doing the repair.
It is obvious that not paying overtime to a crew was far more important to the board of FPL than providing good customer service to a paying customer. Shame on FPL.

Worst company I've ever dealt with

Worst company I've ever dealt with. No matter how many times I call for my deposit back of approx $500 which they acknowledge they owe me, I can't get the money. No matter what I say they won't send the money. Atrocious!!!

Terrible customer service and billing department

I changed bank accounts and thought I updated my information correctly. (It took all my information and accepted my new bank/account number).
The following month, they charged my old bank (which was shut down). I called and talked with customer service and was told that I "probably" filled out the one time payment area. They walked me through deleting (again) my old information and adding my new account.
The following month, their system once again tried billing my old account (keep in mind they charge $40 each time). I called and talked with customer support again, and with a manager who basically told me there was noting they could/would do.
Now, I cant even pay online as after two times of billing issues, they do not accept online payments and have to use the phone.
I had dutifully changed direct billing information with my new bank on several other accounts with zero issues.

It is impossible to open account when…

It is impossible to open account when you have a freeze on your credit, I mean IMPOSSIBLE. YOU CAN'T TALK TO A HUMAN ANYMORE.
I've had so many FPL accounts and now this. Would not take any of the requested ID I tried to upload. Had to unfreeze my credit from all 3 reporting agencies and start over. If I could give zero I would.

We have lived in Sorrento East 11…

We have lived in Sorrento East 11 years. I can't count how many times we lost power. Without power right now. They will blame storm but 300 still have power. 199 don't. They should have reinforced lines but did not or did a sloppy job. FPL is pathetic and should lose their base! We also complained to government officials about this on going problem!!

I just got a Final Notice, but no Regular Bill

I just got a Final Notice, but never got a regular Bill. I find it extremely offensive to send a customer a Final Notice but never sent a regular Bill. Also, I could not find a regular bill because they were going to turn my electricity off during a natural disaster thinking I was ignorant, but I am not. FPL is disrespectful to the consumers, and when FPL wants us consumers/constituents who do vote to vote for whatever they want from the Florida government they expect me to vote for FPL. Not today.

I wish I could give this company…

I wish I could give this company negative stars. This monopoly cut my power off while I was out of town without any notice so I came home two weeks later to a refrigerator and freezer full of mush. I was told my power would be turned back on August 1st it is now the 2nd and I keep calling and every time I finally get to talk to a person they tell me they can't do anything and I need to call another number and leave a message and wait for them to call me back. Of course half the day (Friday) is gone now and no call back. So It's looking like another weekend in 100+ degree weather with no power. This company is complete bs!

FPL is the worst company and it is all…

FPL is the worst company and it is all about money. I have had to get an extension a few times this year since my husband and I separated. Now they are asking for $346 as a deposit. What deposit? I have been living in my home for a year now. The automated system is horrible and it takes so long to get ahold of someone and when you do they act like they do not want to be on the phone. When I mentioned the cash deposit she had no clue and put me on hold. Then she came back and said it’s because you have had multiple extensions and now a deposit is due. I am not rich and I thought asking for an extension would help me not hurt me. I miss Gulf Power. They were the best and I never had a problem. Now I have to come up with money I do not have, all because I asked for some help.

FPL...very nasty

They are retalitory...they use brut-force for security deposit, tell lies about been late for the pass two months,,,,lies..then turn off your light, spoil all your food, for a security deposite you paid 4 years ago...but we know who you are FPL...its ok , its in your DNA...you really cant do any better

MONOPOLY

MONOPOLY! This is a MONOPOLY type of money gauging and holding onto deposits as long as they can and totally do what they want. By design the online App is the cheapest you could get - most incompetent App that only screws customers. So they are banking customers deposits. Mine is $181 ( 3+ times my a erage bill as a deposit - also not regulated in Florida - aka: ‘lets screw the customer) . They take the deposit they invest it in equities on the stock market ( imagine all the money they have in deposits) and they meanwhile charge you monthly DIRECTLY on your card or to your bank. ….. but when the customer wants the Deposit sent directly to that same card or bank account that they charge monthly they revert to neandathol payment style and behave like digital never happened in Florida! …. So they make it so slow and non-digital - all designed to give the customer a delayed deposit refund, and a bank cheque ( playing for time again) . They are preying on the fact that 60% of the Miami population happen not be a US born or have to go home or to another country then its even better for FPL. Why? Because FPL is sending a) by mail b) a cheque and c) internationally the address space on the App is not designed for international addresses!! Yes when i followed up on my 1800 call to them the address had been cut off in the App space provided ( how convenient!) . So i corrected it naturally but no other option only refund deposits by cheque - not digitally! So now I pay $ 35 plus an exchange fee $15 to have the privilege of getting the balance of my OWN Deposit returned to me 3 months later !!! Ps : it also says on their chat that they have the RIGHT to hold onto your deposit for up to 2 years after service is stopped! GANSTERS taking advantage of being the ONLY utility company in Miami ! What has happened to protection for ordinary Americans, working class folks rights that can be openly violated so blatantly here in Florida. Floridians should be in the streets protesting. A pure violation by big business and a Monopoly in Plain sight.

Incompetant Electrical Company

If I could prepare a review for 0 I would. Worst utility company for every state I lived in. California, Arizona, Oregon, Mississippi, Texas, Nevada. COMPLETELY INCOMPATANT! As far as Florida is concerned TECO is good.

I don't understand how FPL is the only…

I don't understand how FPL is the only game in town in Miami Florida. I've been trying to get a hold of them for a week now for tree trimming. I wasted time on a call with a rep who told me they would text me a calendar to book the appointment. The text and email just looped me to another page on FPL that talks about tree trimming but does not actually let you take action. The rep could not book the appointment for me when I called. So what exactly am I supposed to do?

I have been paying FPL for about 50…

I have been paying FPL for about 50 years and they shut me off without notice on Easter Sunday. after they thanked me for paying on time through out COVID 19 and after. I had no Idea what was going on.I am on disability and I need hot water and heat and I was left in the dark for 4 hours. No text except that my electric should be on. I couldn't see it because I was so sick and they did it to me today and they know I can pay. They turned it off for 1 month behind.
Ruthless.
They also say they did not take a deposit when I thought they did. They won't let you pay ahead of time so they can charge you to turn your electric on, unless you pay by check that you must mail to them.
Obviously they are ungrateful for my "on time
payments" and my business for 50 years.

FPL cutting people’s electricity for being a week late on payment is WILD… by far the MOST GREEDIEST and CUTTHROAT company I’ve ever dealt with. They should be ashamed of themselves… my $300 is on the way to your Multi Million Dollar company now you SCUMBAGS!
