They purposely ignore emails when they…

They purposely ignore emails when they want to, no one answers the phone half the time, their boxes don't match the products, and they send wrong items.

I was dealing with someone named Christian and he would ignore emails and vanish in the middle of online chat queries for like 30 minutes at a time. Horrible.

No contact from DJ city to advise the progress of repairing faulty subwoofer. I have sent the faulty subwoofer LDGT Sub15A for repairing (2nd time) since 10/5/2021 till now. Can't contact, no reply,

I have emailed enquiring about the progress, no reply.
DJ city Fairfield contact number is unanswered, chat services no reply.
If unlucky the product was faulty like mine one, and It had to be sent away for fixing since early May 2021.
No advice of the progress/ status till now, end of June
Can't contact, go back to the shop, they said sorry: the office is in Melbourne and staff in the shop themselves have no direct number for customer relation to main office in Melbourne
What kind of business is this?

5 Month wait for Nothing!!

Ordered a guitar stand before Xmas, called the store and was told it was in stock so I purchased it online, week later called again to see when it was going to be sent and was told it was there ready to be sent out, cool ! 2 weeks later still nothing so tried calling a few time, nothing, send some emails, nothing, finally someone picks up the phone and tells me it was sold to someone in the store and it would have to be re-stocked. 25th April I remember I brought a guitar stand so have to spend a week getting hold of them only to be told they won't be getting it in and they will refund me. No one has replied to my email asking for an explanation and a week later still no refund. These people are liers and thieves and have somehow farmed a good review rating on Google when every other review has them as they truly are.

Truly shocking customer service, customer service number and phones at every single store location just ring out. No reply to my voicemails, emails or chat service. Been trying to contact absolutely anyone for 2 weeks and nothing.

No answer to phone calls, and no response to leaving a recorded message either. If you have a problem or question regarding a product that you purchased, as I did, you will need to go back to the store.

Unreliable company

DJ City has possibly the worst customer service I have ever encountered, prompting me to write my first ever negative review for any company ever. I ordered a pair of speakers in July 2020 as a birthday present for a friend in August. Due to Covid, I expected that there might be a delay due to the pandemic, so I ordered early to give them extra time to ship. Unfortunately, after waiting until October with absolutely no messages, notifications or indications of where and when the item may ship, I contacted customer service. I was given the option to pay extra to upgrade to another speaker. They indicated that if I made the upgrade, it would be placed on backorder and arrive from November to the end of December. I paid the extra money for the upgrade last year and have now in January 2021 received an email with a generic "At the time of purchase the item may have been showing in stock however when the warehouse team has gone to ship your item no stock was found. I can find out an ETA for when new stock will arrive or offer you recommendations on alternatives." ETA after ETA, it has now been half a year.

Even after explaining my situation to them at each point, the company's only approach was to respond with standard "sorry for the inconvenience; you can change or upgrade" emails. I understand that Covid has made it difficult for businesses but to wait almost six months for a product that may or may not be ever coming with abysmal customer service is honestly appalling.

I would not recommend shopping with DJ City if you'd like a clear and smooth customer service experience (or if you expect to receive any product quickly).

Unorganised and pathetically slow to despatch online orders

Unorganised, pathetically slow to despatch goods, after sales service is non existent, thats my experience. It appears they are understaffed to deal with online orders constantly. Nothing but excuses. In store staff appear pleasant, if you get them to help you, yet aloof, normally chatting to each other rather than doing their job.

Last time

Sad to say this will be the last time I buy from DJ City, been let down too many times. Now after reading the reviews on multiple websites, it's clear they don't care. I've got two orders in the system, been on "paid processing" for more than 2 weeks. After enquiring about the ETA for one of my orders, they just send a generic response that "it will be sent shortly". Dunno what that means

They used to be good, ever since corona they've been using all kinds of excuses why orders are delayed.

They have the foundations of an amazing business model and website, whoever is running the show could really turn this place around.

DJ City appears to be on the way out

I have been aware of this company for years and have known people who have done business with them in that time.

I believed that this longevity was enough to trust that I could make an online purchase and be able to contact them quite readily.

This is not the case and would indicate that for some reason, any previously held reputation is now being torched for the chance to pull off various scams including the old bait and switch!

It is all very confusing. I will be cancelling my order via the dispute transaction process with my bank and will make a formal complaint to Consumer Affairs Victoria.

I would advise others to do the same. It would appear that DJ City should be wound up post haste.

I wish I’d read these reviews before…

I wish I’d read these reviews before placing an online order Dec 14th. Paid with Paypal, but no order confirmation received. I have sent numerous emails and left phone messages with no reply.
The phone is never answered and now I’m not able to access my online account. I have lodged a dispute with Paypal for a refund and would urge anyone else to not deal with this business.

Very careful when you are buying online from them. They have advertised some items that they don't have in stock. They keep your money and offer a product more expensive to gain more. Customer service equals ****. They are such an island with different kings. They don't understand the basics of the supply chain, customer care and satisfaction. Delay and misleading in responses are obvious. If you are interested in wasting your time and feeling bad, there are the best options in life!

I have previously purchased from DJ…

I have previously purchased from DJ City and have been a return customer on several occasions. I placed an online order on 30th November and I am still waiting for an update on my PAID order (two thump speakers with stands) . I originally asked if I could have insurance thru Australia post which they do not provide. So I then asked if I could either pick up from the Brisbane store or change my order for what they had in stock in brisbane to allow this. 20 calls later to both melbourne and Brisbane and still no update. Also their online messenger service is not monitored regularly and is very frustrating. I will not be recommending this company again and would have gone elsewhere is possible.

BUYER BEWARE!

My horror story in dealing with DJ City's Online Store.

Back on the 26th August 2020 I placed an online order with DJ City only to find out that the pair pf powered speakers I ordered was no longer in stock. So I opted to pay them extra for what was believed to be a 'better' pair of Vonyx 15" speakers at a more expensive price. However when it came to the dispatch of the new set of speakers they were struggling to find any stock but managed to find a pair that I was to learn had been sent back to them under warranty. So they were faulty to begin with and they knew it but still sent them to me.

I was told that they could supply me the Vonyx speakers as an 'opened box' set and that they would be thoroughly tested and checked before being dispatched. They told me they could offer them to me a discounted price but would be like new.

As it turned out the Vonyx speakers arrived and it was very apparent they had not been packed properly much less tested or checked. The front mesh of one of the speakers had been caved in, there was a nut and bolt missing from the stands and the wheels had some type of gunk stuck to them.

The microphone that was meant to be supplied was also broken and completely unusable. So after many phone calls trying to get through to them, is all they offered me was to replace the damaged microphone, which they did with a really cheap mic that sounded like crap.

The speakers themselves were not working properly and distorted really badly at low volumes so they were nowhere near good enough for me as a solo musician.

So I tried to contacted DJ City online about 2 weeks ago by phone, but after many attempts to call them I couldn't get through. So I decided to email my complaint to them instead requesting they go back under warranty.

After a week of waiting for DJ City to get in touch with me and having no answer I finally had enough and decided to list the speakers on Facebook Marketplace and take whatever I could get for them just to get them out of my house.

After I sold the faulty speaker set to another buyer who was prepared to try and repair them I placed a telephone order for another pair of AWE Revo15 DSP speakers for around $890 from DJ City's store in Mansfield, Queensland late last week.

But even through I had a direct phone number getting though to the Mansfield store to follow up on my order was also a real struggle. I had to call 66 times before getting to speak to someone. Those speakers are still on their way to me and I should have them in the next two days.

Today I finally got a reply from a same salesperson from the main DJ City online store I first placed my original order with in response to my email sent two weeks ago.

The sales person requested I send back the faulty speakers back to Melbourne with no offer to pay for the return postage costs. The salesperson recommended I buy the same set of AWE Revo15 DSP speakers I just ordered last week.

I was given a discount of $50 on the new set of speakers, but that's a far cry from how much I am now out of pocket. I lost about $150 on the other set of Vonyx speakers when I sold them on Facebook Marketplace.

So the DJ City online store has cost me a lot of time and money and have caused me extensive delays in being able to start playing professionally again. This is simply unacceptable.

DJ City needs more phone lines and staff to deal with the many enquiries and support issues, because right now "Customer Service" and 'Support simply does not exist in their main office and they're struggling in some of their other stores.

If I had other options available to purchase the same speakers on ZipPay I would certainly have gone elsewhere. So DJ City should be the last place anyone should ever buy from.

EDIT: The following statement is totally untrue.

"All products which are sent for online orders are brand new and un-opened. If these products arrive damaged or faulty (either from transit or from manufacturing issues) we are able to provide a replacement or offer an alternative."

Due to a shortage in stock I was supplied a product that was described to me as an 'OPEN BOX" that was returned because the customer apparently no longer wanted it.

I was given an assurance that the contents would be tested and checked. Given the poor condition of this product and how it was so poorly packed, and the fact it had technical issues, no testing or checks were ever carried out.

So try spinning up another one DJ-City. I'm still very upset by the fact you did this to me and forced me to get rid of it for what I could get second hand in the condition it was in and to buy a more expensive AVE set of powered speakers from you.

You know damn well who I am and still have not made any attempt to really compensate me over my losses.

Do NOT buy online from this company

Ordered on the 12th of November and had my order stuck on Paid Processing for over a week, I was told to wait until the end of the week and message the sales consultant if it still had not shipped, I did so and still have had no reply. Terrible support and no way of contacting them via phone (all lines busy, message bank full)

Frustratingly slow

Ordered a Pioneer XDJXZ as their website was showing it as IN STOCK on 18th Sept.
Got the usual order confirmation but then heard nothing about dispatch. When I rechecked their website a few days later the product was out of stock.
Tried calling their various phone numbers but no one ever picked my call even after several attempts on different days.

I finally get a response from an email I sent saying stock is expected “next week”. That was over two weeks ago.

I’m stilling waiting, meanwhile they have taken my money and all I have is a vague idea that they might get stock sometime in the near future

Terrible experience with this company so far. I understand delays happen due to the virus but this company seems to have a serious lack of support.

Update:
Shortly after posting this review I actually received a call from DJ City who said they are expediting my case - and will be dispatching the order this week.

The item ended up arriving about a week after it was dispatched. No problems at all with the product on arrival.

Overall the purchase experience with DJCity was really frustrating and customer support really only kicked in at the point I posted the review.

Slow delivery, no response to enquiries

Order placed 7 August. As best I recall the website indicated the items were in stock, but I didn't screenshot that. No response to the order other than standard acknowledgement email, I followed up by email 12 August. Partial delivery 18 August, part of order still not shipped. I followed up by email 8 September. No response. Delivery completed 21 September. Substantial delay, no communication other than standard shipping emails. Product arrived in good condition with no other problems. Even allowing for COVID-19, this is poor service in my opinion. I suspect that based on my experience, if there was a problem, resolution might be slow and difficult. In future I will avoid online purchases from this seller.
