Payment Taken, Order Unfulfilled, and No Communication
I recently purchased an LD Systems MIX62 G3 2-Way Speaker Pair with Mixer for $562.25 from DJ City's online store, which included express shipping. According to their website, "orders are shipped from our Dandenong South, VIC facility." After receiving an automated order confirmation, I got no further communication—no tracking information or shipping updates.
Over the next week, I made multiple attempts to contact their customer service via phone and email. The phone line either failed to connect or placed me on hold for extended periods before redirecting to an answering service. Despite leaving detailed voicemails and sending follow-up emails to both their sales and customer service addresses, I received no response or acknowledgment from DJ City.
It's unacceptable for a company to take payment without fulfilling the order or providing any communication. Making it difficult to reach them and ignoring multiple contact attempts shows a serious lack of professionalism and customer care. Ultimately, I had to resolve the issue through PayPal's Buyer Protection to obtain a refund due to DJ City's unresponsiveness.
I'm extremely disappointed with this experience and feel that customers should be aware of the potential issues when ordering online from DJ City.
Note: I left this same review on their ‘customer reviews’ section of the website, and within a day they took it down. Interesting how I have received no communication from them, yet they are quick to rectify any reviews that give areal insight into their practices. Very telling.
Customer service non-existent
Impossible to reach customer service. I unnecessarily ordered the same product twice in a day (via their eBay store). I immediately tried calling them to cancel one of the orders. Tried calling 3+ times. Impossible to reach anyone. Tried emailing them, messaging them on the website chat, and messaging via eBay, so that they would not post the item twice. No response. They posted one item on the 22nd, and then ignored my messages/email for 4-5 days and posted the same item again on the 26th against my advice. Now I am faced with returning an item unnecessarily and worrying about whether they will ever refund it (a problem others have mentioned on these reviews).
Update:
Initiated return via eBay, which they accepted within a day or two, indicating return postage costs would be charged to me. No communication or response otherwise. Fortunately, they refunded the order within a couple of days of receiving the item, and eBay covered the return postage for me. A very frustrating experience, but it appears the system could work smoothly enough, provided you never have a situation that requires customer service. I would strongly hesitate to use them again for that reason, especially when there are other businesses offering the same products for the same prices.

Ordered a few things, received an email to say there was an issue Have had no call back from any one since only to receive a text to say they are on back order , showed they have stock,,,, wanted to get them picked up now have to wait, and probably pay the freight as well!!!!!
Not a great buying experience
Drove to Dandenong store. Purchased a boss pedal. I paid cash and while the staff were preparing the invoice I opened up a non sealed box with it inside (was in their cabinet but I did not see it prior) to check it. Other guy asked what I was doing and was it paid for? I said I don’t see the issue, but was told this is their policy. So it’s their policy that you cannot check a product you have just handed cash over for at the counter apparently! I then got given a small stub receipt. I said can’t you enter this in your system as it’s a 5 year warranty and the chances of losing a small receipt like that are high. The guy sighed and said it’s already done. I asked again and he agreed to do this. When he had finished, I said “so any issues I come back and it’s in the system?” He said “yes”, then said “oh. I can email you with it” I said please and then he did it. Almost all companies like this email receipts as standard, and enter the sale into the system. Not a pleasant experience and an overall bad vibe in this store. Sorry guys.

Ordered a pair of HD280s Pro headphones today only to discover I was charged for 2 upon completion of the sale. Totally impossible to reach by phone last few hours. Wasted my afternoon with your BS.
Have also sent emails. You better be prepared for me when I get up to your Brisbane store after I drive up to get my refund.

Even after doing a click and collect was met by a very unpleasant, unfriendly staff member who felt like he was doing me a favour.. never going to their store again..

I have a business as well, my customers get an email answered in 12 hours. DJ City has the worst customer service.
I ordered a DJ Deck, and they told me was not in stock. I paid a supplement for another one. Now it is two weeks of waiting, and still no answers. I tried to call the number and no answers.
It is such as shame that this kind of poor business is allowed in Australia, creating a bad reputation in our entire market. As a business owner, I feel ashamed of them. I am happy to have a chat with you, just email me. The order number is displayed at the top.

Great Price, Insane Turnaround

Rang DJ City yesterday afternoon and spoke to an experienced salesperson immediately. They understood my situation and express posted to Tasmania. They arrived this morning at 6am. Literally 15hrs from call to receipt. Bravo!

When something doesn't go to plan, it can be frustrating trying to re-ship, return, playing email tag for days or weeks, but I sent an email/e query and in less than 30 minutes I had a reply, a complete solution.
Very satisfied and a customer for life!
Poor Customer Service
Return a set of earphone for repair in early December. Have been email a few times for update but no reply. It has been two months but no update and phone always rang out.
- Update, finally able to speak to service team and they are waiting for reply from Manufacturer.

Initial order arrived damaged
Initial order arrived damaged. I was told to send it back to trigger replacement. Now that initial order is back, no replacement and no responses to my queries. No phone no. to call either. $130 spent and no Christmas gift. Scam!!!
Poor company
Poor company, they pretty much have a zero returns policy, i was told to bring the product back in for a store credit, then when i left, they emailed me to say they will charge 15% as repackaging costs.

Paid for brand new, received a repack with parts missing
Wish I had read these reviews before I purchased .... I was sold a keyboard that was clearly an "open box" item. Pretty easy to tell when a box has been re-tapped. Sadly who ever did the repack forgot to include the manual and other bits and pieces. Emails to DJcity have gone unanswered.

Today around 12 noon I purchased a Sennheiser e945 microphone from DJ City Dandenong Store. At 4.00 p.m I got home and found the item was being sold cheaper and requested the Store if they could price match or refund the item. Ryan was rude to me and said DJ city policy is only to give store credit.
However, I mentioned, according to the Australian Consumer Law, I deserve my refund for the item.
I have attached a copy of the invoice and price comparison for your reference.
I would like to know your decision on this ASAP please.
I bought a Behrenger PMP500 shocking
I bought a Behrenger PMP500, I've taken it back 4 times to be repaired, each time it was sent off, came back a few weeks later, worked for about 2 months then I encountered the same problem. I sympathize with the store at Smithfield, who advised me they will ask Behrenger for a new 1 to replace the one I have returned. Wouldn't offer a replacement, so now I'm stuck for the next few weeks, The manager told me Behrenger have to take responsibility for their product however, I didn't buy it off Behrenger. I hope this gets sorted soon. I should've gone to Store DJ.
Appalling customer service
My husband and I have purchased many items from DJ City at both the Dandenong and Oakeigh stores. My last experience was of no surprise. Terrible customer service, again. 4 staff members stood behind the counter, didn't greet us as we entered the store let alone ask if we needed any help. When we finally asked for some help we were made to feel like we were massively inconveniencing them. We asked if the item we were purchasing had the required cables and told we had to buy some. We did and when we got home the item had all the cables in the box. Staff appear to have no product knowledge or fail to offer it and have never been of assistance when we have asked their opinion in store. We will now be finding another store to purchase our items. It's not hard to be nice, it's actually free. Train your staff in customer service and product knowledge.
No one will reply
My record player has stopped working, contacted the ACCC who have advised that it still comes under consumer guarantee. DJ City have not responded in over two works since their last passive aggressive reply

Worst place to buy ANY equipment
Worst place to buy ANY equipment. Even when it comes to a genuine return with the full package, within few days they take 20% of the price to their pocket and then for the rest of the 80% stores credit, even when they don't have an alternative item that satisfies the buyer's requirement.
On the other hand other similar stores like store DJ gives you 80% money back and 20% store credit which is fair as they have to restock the item and the buyer does not lose money.
DJ City's customer service is crap, worst customer service I have ever seen. Once an email is sent need to call 100 times to get things done.

The record player arrived defective. I was given a return label in order to get a replacement. It’s been 6 weeks of radio silence since. Multiple emails unanswered and the phone hangs up on you.
