Unable to cancel without ringing up…

Unable to cancel without ringing up during working hours. When, shockingly, people are working and can't call.

Edit: unsure if the response below from Coffee52 is AI as it's completely irrelevant to my complaint. A subscription isn't a permanent commitment, customers are legally allowed to cancel at any time.

The nature of our coffee is that from time to time you may receive some that are not what you might usually drink, and while our coffee experts always try their best to choose ones they think our customers will enjoy, they can't always meet everyone's specific tastes. I can assure you that our coffees are selected for their high quality. We work with and support our smaller producers. rather than larger productions. Our products are of the highest quality and we offer many products that aren't always available elsewhere.

Great coffee and very nice/polite staff, monthly subscription just not for us

The coffee was nice and it's always good to try something different, we just didn't want to get into a monthly subscription at the moment. Although I couldn't cancel online, I spoke to a staff member on the phone who was very polite and just keen to get feedback on the coffee as well as encourage more people to try the system. Overall a good experience

Not too bad

My wife and I used Vodafone vouchers to get free 2 bags each for just a postage, but her order was cancelled just because we are in the same house :). So she wanted to cancel our subscriptions. Believe or not you have to call them to cancel your subscription!!!! Despite we did cancel our subscription even before we received the coffee beans, Steve, Sales & Retention Advisor of Coffee52 convinced me that their coffee beans were so good (I thought it would be as special as scored more than 85). And he sent me this link to make a review with all his assertiveness. After I tried the beans, I can honestly say it is not a good coffee at all. If I compare the coffee beans which I received from coffee52 with the ones that I bought only £3.08 from Asda (Leon organic coffee light roast 200g normally cost £4.40 without any discount), it would be an absolute victory for Leon.
I give 2 stars because it is not too bad coffee and I get them with only paying the postage.

First of all, my name was typed incorrectly. I wasn’t offended, though I wanted to point it out that occasionally I come across this way if someone feels offended by me or by my email. 🙂

Regarding the coffee, I do not consume alcohol, sugar, or similar additives, and I generally trust my own taste, especially when it comes to coffee. The coffee I received from Coffee52 was not particularly special. It wasn’t bad, but it certainly didn’t feel like something selected by experts.

I fully understand that every company has its own cost and pricing policies. I was simply comparing it to another coffee that was around ten times cheaper and, in my opinion, clearly superior.

Our suppliers often have larger overheads when producing smaller batches of their beers, wines, whiskies or coffee. Our products are of the highest quality and we offer many products that aren't available elsewhere, we produce a monthly magazine that customers enjoy reading, Our magazines for our products are included in every box and give our customers a wealth of knowledge on how we source our products, how our producers make their products as well as wonderful stories about the region they are produced in the stories behind their breweries, vineyards and distilleries.

Our boxes not only include our beers, wines, whiskies or coffee, but we also offer a quick postal service, snacks with our beers and wines and our product magazine in every box as well as amazing offers to use and share with family & friends. Our subscriptions are discovery clubs where our customers can choose to enjoy new and wonderful products every month, bi, or tri-monthly and of course, can cancel at any time should they wish to. We are sorry our prices may not be within budget for everyone all of the time but we of course try our best to balance our cost and supply prices as best we can.

Great Service

The advisor, James Henderson, was very polite and easy to chat with over the phone. He clearly explained that the coffee subscription was new and to provide the most feedback possible to ensure that coffee52 make this product a success. As part of that, he successfully negotiated a better price to allow me to see what other coffee’s Coffee52 have curated.

Quite underhand tactics to get you to sign up for a monthly amount and then make it impossible to cancel. I haven’t even tried the coffee yet, but frankly, I’m not inclined to!

Helpful call back to resolve

Tried to ring to cancel my subscription but the line went dead, I emailed and they rang me the next morning to sort out the cancellation, the person who called was very polite and friendly and whilst they did tell me about further offers to try and keep my subscription, which is understandable, they were not too pushy and sorted the cancellation straight away when I said that was what I wanted to do still. Very pleased with the phone call back and outcome.
