I shouldn't feel scared by a business to write a review
I'm here with everyone else after their Instagram story telling people to leave good reviews. I have pretty much the same experience as everyone else, rude, overpriced, unprofessional.
I've been buying from here for a few years but I stopped a while back after finding other sellers.
Pretty much all of my orders have had something missing, wrong or damaged.
Also the prices are often double the price of the item. It is cheaper both price and shipping for me to buy directly from Japan myself. Or other UK stores.
Also I have missed out on items because they do not always respond to comments or messages (that's how you order on instagram)
Even though they had been nice when I first started buying, the rudeness I experienced over time led me to be actually scared to raise any dispute when something was wrong, due to them blaming me when something happened eg they sent me the wrong invoice that was not meant for me but due to them always saying they need the invoice paid straight away I just quickly pay and go, sometimes I realise straight away or later, when I told them this happened they got angry at me and I should've of read it first, because now another customer hasn't gotten their invoice or order and they have lost money. But how was I meant expect I would be sent the wrong invoice unrelated to me. Or not telling them order was wrong fast enough.
I've also been sent the wrong character a few times an example being, asking for Koguma and been sent Rilakkuma, in some of their listings this is also reflected (referring to colour not character), so they are not always aware of what they are actually selling which is fine as a business, you're not bound to know everything but surely there is a better way to catalogue so you don't mix up characters. I was too scared to dispute this due to past rudeness, blame and a fight for a resolution.
I'm currently shaking because I'm worried I will be blasted on instagram as they do with other 'customers' I shouldn't have to feel scared by a 'buisness' to write a review or tell them my order is wrong. It is because of these other reviews that I have the courage to write this and I do not feel alone. I also have two other friends that have had the same experience and have also stopped shopping here.
I completely understand they are overworked, being only one person with a family but that does not excuse the rudeness that has brought me to stressed tears, along with what I've seen others have said such as not refunding when something hasn't arrived. This is our money and lives too which I feel they do not care about in the slightest unless you have an Instagram following.
I would suggest they get some help to manage their stock, messages, order updates, disputes and shipping as I believe with their growth it has gotten too much for them to handle on their own which may be why they seem to be more defensive and not own up to their mistakes. I get their can be annoying and time wasting customers but I don't appreciate it being taken out on me and others, especially when we have our own mental health to deal with as well.
Multiple examples of unprofessionalism…
Had 2 friends who both had bad experiences.
First one happened at MCM where a friend bought an entire 'unopened' box of yuri on ice keychains only to find, when opening them later, all the main characters were missing and they got doubles, even triples of minor characters. The box was presented as new and unopened which was obviously a lie, meaning YY has been opening up blindboxes, selling the popular characters for a higher price then tricking people into buying blindboxes at conventions with the false idea they could get any character. We returned to the stall to complain and while the man behind the stall seemed to genuinely want to help, YY was extremely rude and put all the blame on my friend which truly upset them and soured their convention as a whole. We have avoided YY at cons since.
The second was a friend who had preordered items and due to bills, couldn't go through with the purchase. In retaliation, akin to other stories I've seen here, YY was short, rude and cussed my friend out on social media which is extremely unprofessional for a business.
When I knew someone YY was on very good terms with, YY was very kind to me. When that friendship ended she dropped any kindness to me immediately which again, is extremely unprofessional. Although YY gets ahold of good items, they mark up the price more than necessary. Between that and their customer service I can't say I would ever recommend them to anyone.
There are nicer, reasonably priced merch resellers out there and I truly suggest looking for one of them instead

I’ve ALWAYS had fantastic service from her we first met her at Hyper Japan and since then I’ve been a regular customer. She has never been rude and to be quite honest I feel these comments are unjust . She works incredibly hard to source and supply items that quite frankly, I’m happy to receive and support a woman who often works late into the night to comply with orders . How can people complain when they don’t fulfil their obligation to pay the remainder balance? I’m sure she has to pay upfront for these items , pay for customs and her own delivery costs . Unprofessional and petty
I joined her yuuri on ice merch group back when it was popular and she did a preorder which I ask to be apart of but when the stuff finally arrive a few months later I was in a very hard financial situation ( it was between between eating or rent) I couldn’t afford to buy the merch she pre ordered, I can understand her frustration I would be too but the part I draw the line is where she cusses me out on her social media (she didn’t name me) she was super unprofessional and when I said you have kid you have to understand that eating is important again cussed me out about “bringing her kids into this” I have never in my life seen that level of unprofessionalism and down right pettiness do not waste your money on over priced merch that you can buy else where for cheaper.

Reading through these other reviews I have to say I completely agree, ordering from her albeit over priced I have had no issues but when it comes to customer service or should I say lack of she is beyond terrible extremely rude and talks to you as if she has no time for you and she just doesn't want to hear from you. If you are thinking about purchasing from her I would advise to stay away as you can find it cheaper on different websites if you just look around.

This is my go to vendor for Japanese exclusive merchandise in the UK. Getting stock of items I believed I would never have a chance at buying. Delivery is prompt and if you are lucky you will get a drawing on the side of your box. Prompt to answer any message I have sent, looking forward to seeing them at conventions post-covid. Kept the spirit of cons up through lockdown for me and my partner.
My Unfortunate Genuine Experience
While I understand being a semi-big account leads to a not always being able to have the best communication, her communication is… beyond bad. Once she accidentally sent me an invoice for an item I didn’t order, which is fine, it happens, but she didn’t even apologise or say anything afterwards. She often exposes bad reviews without censoring the names and it’s really unprofessional.
Also the fact she lets her two girls be on camera opening kujis. It takes ages, is prone to messing up and she lets the girls mess around with the merchandise before packing it. IE she has posted pictures of her girls cuddling plushies she was going to send which is worrying considering COVID. I don’t think the girls being in promotional videos is bad but they shouldn’t be allowed to be in kujis or touch purchased merch.
The biggest issue I can say with her is her pricing. I get it, imports are expensive, but these are somewhat unreasonable. If you were to buy from Japan directly, the item costs about a Pound. If you buy from her, it’s like £5-£9. Her shipping prices are ridiculous too, especially for a small parcel. You’re better off importing using a proxy or directly to yourself.
It’s unfortunate but that’s the truth of my experience.
My personal experience with yykawaii
Since we dont have many places that sell sanrio items and figures in the UK I was super excited to come across YYKawaii. However I have to agree with some of the other comments regarding the unproffesionalism when it comes to complaints made by yykawaii in their instagram story. My personal experience with the person who runs yykawaii however was pleasant so I have no criticisms there.
My major issue is with what came after having already purchased from them. I realised that the item I payed for was priced over £20 more than it was selling for brand new on ebay. And when I started searching up the some of the other items in their shop, every single one was over priced and could be found for a lot cheaper elsewhere. Even with shipping cost from overseas, it would still be cheaper to buy elsewhere. So I was left with a bad taste after the experience.
I wouldnt really call this a genuine business, it's more like you're purchasing from a scalper.
You will get the item you pay for, but you also will be overpaying for it by a significant amount.
I also think it was manipulative of yykawaii to say people were sharing bad reviews on trustpilot when they were likely honest experiences. yykawaii should try to improve and work on the criticisms instead of trying to get their instagram followers to come and leave positive reviews.

Instead of taking the valid criticisms people have made. Yykawaii continues to refer to their past and present customers as "haters". Being extremely passive aggressive in her instagram stories. Thanking all her supporters not realising that the people who have supported her are the same people leaving these criticisms.
I was honestly on the fence about how I felt about yykawaii as a business. But all the recent instagram stories just reeks of ungratefulness and bitterness.

My personal and honest experience
To be complete honest, I'm so happy with her service, I have been buying from her for a time now, every month and NEVER had a issue with her, she answers my messages in a razonable time, she always is polite and professional. She has normal prices because I see others bussness charge way more and that's why I choose to buy from her at the beginning... Also help me when I have problems and she is very understanding... My packages always have been send on time and she update us thu stories the status of the packages and what products she will send so we can check if we still need to pay something pending... I really really recommend her bussness like I said I have been her client for a long time now... also she has a lot of options to buy that makes easy to fill a box and save money with the shipping...

yykawaii is not very great at handling criticism, she also overcharges.
After seeing yykawaii put up on her Instagram page for people to come on here and write positive reviews about her, I decided to look at the negative reviews myself.
She said she doesn’t come on here for mental health reasons and to stay away from the negativity. Well I think instead of that she should do the reasonable and appropriate thing and recognise some of the criticisms, and work on some of the points raised.
I’ve been shopping with yykawaii for a little bit now and I agree with other negative reviews that she is rude in her messages. She treats you like you’re wasting her time. She persistently speaks in a blunt way. And honestly, I’ve received better custom from JP-direct shopping services.
I get that yykawaii seems basically pushed to her limit- boxes lining her home, working all day every day non stop. I get that she has kids to look after as well, and that she lives in London so she has to sustain herself somehow as London is a very expensive place to live. I also get that some few people waste her time or agree to buy things and then don’t. However, her customer service to those who buy from her properly is very poor, and she tends to put on a kind demeanor only when it’s public on her Instagram story.
Her Instagram story is so dramatic also. She will persistently put people on blast when they’ve decided to back out of a sale, and sometimes even put screenshots of other people on her page, which is a little embarrassing and unprofessional.
I think yykawaii needs some help with her business or a long respite because she is not handling the stress very well without complaining or being blunt and getting overly upset all the time whenever anyone mildly criticises her.
I’m glad I can use this website to offer an honest review about my experience because without a doubt if I aired this to her personally she’d take it as an attack against her mental health and well-being, despite being rude to me time after time in DM.
I was pretty annoyed when I spent £40+ on items that I could have got for like £10 in Japan through a shopping service as well.
From now on moving forward I will only be getting stuff from her if I absolutely need to. I’m only putting 2 stars because I tend to not have items arrive damaged- out of all the packages I have had from her, only 1 arrived damaged and that one she partially refunded (which is sufficient).

I believe I’ve been a customer of YYKAWAII for about 5/6 years now roughly and never had an issue with her. She’s a one women show with two young children so sometimes things are forgotten etc. However she’s been great with me more times than I’ve had a ‘issue’ if I can even call it that. When I lost my last job before the one I’m in now she was so understanding and even tried to help me. All you need to do is politely explain to her payment may be delayed or what have you and she’s fine with that. She’s honestly been a god send for me getting rare and sometimes difficult merch without her help. I wouldn’t of managed to get my Red XIII action doll if it weren’t for her.
I can somewhat agree that the customer service has been lacking but if people are coming across as rude or just outright ignoring her in the first place it’s no wonder she can feel annoyed.

Yykawaii is a small business that goes above an beyond for their customers. Special requests, preorders, in stock items. They work with you to get the anime items that are sold in japan. Ive personally shopped with them since 2014, and have always and will always only shop with yykawaii. Theyre so much more than just some huge company who only looks at profits. I've used YYkawaii for a few years now with no issue whatsoever. She's even done a few special orders for me of items I was having trouble finding. She also gets items in stock months before other UK sites. When she visited Japan, she even went out of her way to get me a number of Okami items I was after.
Great service, friendly, always willing to help. She is 1 of my go-to sellers for items.

Professional and helpful
Been a customer of YY Kawaii for years. I find her very professional and helpful. She’s a saint when it comes to taking special requests to source merchandise - during peak covid when no other company online was shipping to the UK, she sourced several prize figures for me I couldn’t have got otherwise. Also a wonderful place to do splits for key rings, badges and similar so as not to have to buy whole packs!
I’d recommend her service, and ultimately I enjoy supporting a family and small business over larger corporations.
A fair and unbiased experience from an experienced collector
The main reason I am leaving this review is that I do not feel any younger or inexperienced collectors should be shopping with YYKawaii, and that is obviously the majority of the customer base.
First off, I have nothing against YYKawaii’s company personally, but it is hard to use the term honestly here; when you buy from them, you are purchasing from an individual person, not a “company,” in the true colloquial sense of the word.
It’s similar to buying from an individual on eBay, however the latter is more reliable due to the fact that if you have an issue with a purchase that a seller refuses to resolve, eBay as a *company* will step in with their buyer protection policy.
I have made a few purchases with YYKawaii, and I honestly regretted them all once I discovered other direct-from-Japan proxy services operating through Instagram and Facebook pages. (I also wouldn’t recommend AmiAmi, but that’s a story for a different review.) I won’t be naming them here, but it is not too difficult to find the proxy shopping services that are actually operating from Japan itself.
The majority of the items offered through them can be ordered off of Amazon Japan for much cheaper. There is no real incentive to order with YYKawaii unfortunately; it is essentially a risk equivocal to buying a product being sold for a mark up on a site like Reddit.
To be clear, my orders have arrived on time and without issue, which is why I am still leaving three stars. The customer service has been lacking, but I have never expected much. I also have followed YYKawaii for many years, since she used to make decoden phone cases, which is her original business model. I do think as a business owner however, YYKawaii has behaved shamefully and spread distrust throughout the collector community on Instagram.
If I felt comfortable naming the other services I recommend on here, I would, but I don’t wish to accidentally associate another small business with these issues. Just take a look around, and you will find the other proxy services.

Terrible experience!! This woman is so rude to her paying customers and expects the customer to remind her of their order due to the shabby way of ordering through Instagram comments (which often go ignored!). I’ve had friends not receive items that they’ve paid for as well as been ghosted; awfully childish behaviour. Don’t get me started on the price gauging!! I’ve seen many items at a 100% price increase from the pre-order value (taken from amiami) which doesn’t include domestic shipping. I know she gets her products from amiami as I have received a package from her in an amiami box!! Would not buy again!!
