Went to the brand inside selfridges at Birmingham. Always enjoyed yo sushi in the past but unfortunately all the rolls are now pre-made and chilled. I ordered a futomaki prawn sushi which was cold an... Mehr ansehen

Lloyd served us today at York Designer Outlet. Really helpful, professional and knowledgeable about the rewards and loyalty app. Would definitely come back as a result!
Yo sushi Korean chicken rice bowl from Tesco. Absolutely revolting, bordering on inedible. Claggy overcooked rice with about a dozen thin strips of raw cabbage on top. Sauce was like sugar sy... Mehr ansehen

Finishing exam celebration turned into the worst food we’ve ever had
A friend a I decided after finishing exams we should try a new restaurant - big mistake! From the moment we walked in there were only 2 other customers and we were standing for at least 10 minutes waiting on a table. The waiter kept looking at us but didn’t come over to greet us for a while then when he did he brought us to a dirty table which thankfully he cleaned but wasn’t that great. His customer service to begin with was alright he told us he’d be back in 5 minutes to take order - turned into 20 minutes. The food we ordered was the avocado sushi rolls, vegetable gyozas, chicken teriyaki ramen and a chicken katsu curry. The food was there within 5 minutes which were impressed by but we shouldn’t have been. Chicken teriyaki was flavourless and oily, gyzoas were the best thing there but not amazing, the curry was ok and the avocado rolls were disgusting. Nobody came to ask how the food was we complained about the ramen and the waiter nearly refused to swap for something else. After the complaint was put forward the waiter walked off to another table with no customers and hid under neath it - this was very weird. To end the night another server who was a waitress came out and she was lovely I would commend her customer service however we both agreed we would never be back!
I went to yo sushi today by myself
I went to yo sushi today by myself. I was sat waiting for 10 to 15 minutes before I was served. I wanted to order a drink and something from the hot menu. The staff were still friendly just forgot me I think. At the end when I paid I realised I had paid £4 more than what should have been a £16 bill. I asked the server after about this and she told me it was an automatic serves charge added. That’s a 25% service charge that I wasn’t asked about! I felt quite upset that I wasn’t asked if I wanted to pay this tip. I do normally tip but I like to have the decision to make for myself. In this case the service was quite poor. All that to say this was not a great experience- I was excited to eat here but I won’t again. My advice was make sure you check your bill when eating here so you can decide how much you would like to tip yourself. I won’t be back.
Sushi school
We have just had a lovely evening at the York City branch doing yo sushi school.
Joel and Barnaby were amazing, very friendly and welcoming. Everything was well prepared and explained. I brought my little boy for his 11th birthday and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Highly recommend this class and will def pass this onto friends and family. Thank you York City branch for such a great evening.
Poor options for Gluten Free
The gluten free option at Yo Sushi is a joke, all the items on the list appear to have some form of gluten. The young man "helping" us had absolutely no idea about gluten. He then asked a young lady to help us, she wasn't much better, seemed to think Soya had gluten in it. I don't think it was their fault, but it was a lack of training by the company. Not a food outlet I will be visiting again.
First time
This was our first time but we were honestly impressed by the service, the workers were kind and asissting us whenever we needed it, super amazing but i highly recommend the Yo! sushi, Bluewater in the UK as its ones. Still questioning why its a 2.0 star ig
Excellent experience!!
Had been here for ages, Had difficulty ordering as to everything’s were changed!! Lexie was a really amazing lad who helped us with a wonderful service throughout!! Very genuine guy with a great personality and helpful. Would definitely recommend coming here again!!
FOOD ARRIVED FROZEN SOLID!!!!
Ordered teriyaki chicken bites and as soon as I bit into it I realised they had sent me frozen solid chicken. Will be put off from yo sushi for life ! Utter disgrace and an abomination of food, had to lean over my black bin in the garden to gag as the thought of eating FROZEN chicken (which was advertised as cooked on the packaging and website) made me want to VOM.
The sushi was of bad quality...
The sushi was of bad quality.... I have been to other yo sushis and this has probably been my worse experience at any Japanese food related restaurants... ever.... Service was ok... the restaurant was half empty and still they forgot my miso soup and messed up an order... Moreover, the miso soup had to be redone as mine was transparent and in fact was only hot water! Food on the conveyor belt was bad to be honest, the rice was tasteless and the seafood was even worse. Food is frozen and of bad quality. I ordered a couple of dishes from the menu and the seaweed tasted like cardboard. My boyfriend had a duck Bao and ended up puking once we got home.
sushi making class in bond street
I had a sushi making class with my partner this evening at the Yo! Sushi in Bond Street. The staff were really personable and we learnt a lot.
Pumpkin Katsu bought from St Pancras
Pumpkin Katsu bought from St Pancras. Lots of rice, good flavour to the sauce, with chopped spring onion and pickled garlic. Breaded pumpkin, just one piece cut in two. £8.25!
Yo, where's the sushi?
The bland, defrosted mush surrounding my fish, that they insisted was "rice", wasn't rice. It may have, at one point, been rice. The defrosted pink thing they insisted was salmon, wad god-awful. The steamed bao buns seemed microwaved because steaming a bun doesn't usually make the bead stiff. They serve better sushi in Japanese prisons.
Wow - Expensive
Wow! The price is ridiculously expensive food is so average. What went wrong.
Fair enough Product, Obliterated by Onion
Store bought stuff is fine but holy c*** do they carpet bomb the poor thingts with fried onion. .. i dont care for onion at all and so i only ever buy this brand if its on offer/throw out counter as even though i can put up with onion on stuff....i'd like to be able to see the Sushi beneath before i eat it. All other store bought brands offer the additions in small container/sachet so you can choose. i Wonder how many other folk who dislike strong onion taste avoid this brand like the plague due to the mess on top of the product.
Yo sushi before a flight!?!? Bad idea!
Went to the yo sushi in Heathrow airport and it cost us thousands after we got food poisoning from their out of date sushi. We didn't realise it until we finished, but half the dishes on the belt had stickers on them that would have been removed hours ago.
Messaged them to complain and had no response, 7 days later me and my wife are on the other side of the planet in bed still suffering from their terrible food. I wish I could post images on here to show the stickers on the plates.
Absolutely disgusting company.
Bad customer service
We always buy their sushi from the Tesco’s in Crawley but one night we bought two bowls for a change. When we got home and started eating them they were so spicy hot that we couldn’t finish them. I was amazed that there wasn’t any warning signs on the packaging, like three or four chilli’s to warn you. Over three weeks ago I e mailed Yo Sushi customer support (like it tells you on the packaging) asking this same questions. Since then I have been told that the Kiosk Manager at the Crawley Tesco’s has been asked to come back to me. That is what they keep saying. Clearly the kiosk Manager doesn’t really care at all. Customer support has now stopped replying to me. Not buying their bowls or sushi again.
From good to bad
We have always loved YO Sushi but this time it did not live up to how we remembered. Food was good as always but the service is where I had an issue, to get cutlery, order food and get the bill, I had to get the waiters attention because they were too busy chatting amongst themselves, I even saw one of them pretend to bum another one of the colleagues from behind which I understand can be work banter but not in front of the customers, it was disgusting to see. Also after not being asked if I wanted cutlery and unable to get the attention of the staff, I got up and got some myself which was met by a comment of “next time let me know and I will get it for you” which was not in a nice way but a snarky comment at the least. Also, the food on the conveyor belt is disgusting, it sits there for far too long before it’s eaten and tastes horrible compared to it being made fresh. Lastly, where have the QR codes gone?
Metrocentre
Metrocentre - diabolical. Chose Yo Sushi over Wagamama for convenience as I was on my own and wanted to order ramen.
The menu was given and asked if I wanted a drink and she went to fetch it.
After checking ramen was still on menu I put it down and eventually she came over.
The server (girl) came back and asked what I would like to order. I said I’d like the ramen.
She then said we can’t give you the ramen on the menu or anything on that side of the menu except the fries. I asked why. She said “we haven’t got the space to make ramen.”
The kitchen is huge so I couldn’t believe this. She asked if I would like anything else. Do you want sushi?. I replied, I don’t like sushi. I came here for the ramen. I said, I don't know what to order as I came here instead of Wagamama to have your ramen. I don’t want anything else.
She didn’t tell me this when I sat down with the menu. She said sorry the kitchen hasn’t enough room to make ramen.
It was a pathetic reason in my opinion and I believed it to be an excuse as the prep area is huge with a few chef staff on it and plenty of room. It was almost laughable to be told this.
I had a few sips of my drink then left. She didn’t want payment for the drink.
It’s substandard now.
Rip off and bland
overpriced -- grabbed a few plates of bland food and the bill came to £40, couldn't believe it. Rip off
It was the 2nd time visiting Yo Sushi…
It was the 2nd time visiting Yo Sushi Trinity Leeds. 1st time was in 2018. It wasn't the best Sushi I had had.. but certainly wasn't the worst. The staff and service were fantastic and so helpful as it was my first time. I was looking forward to making another visit. I did so... March 2024. This time I was so disappointed. First of all when you visit any restaurant.. you expect the service to be on point. To be at hand when needed. Although when you did manage to get the attention of a member of staff... they were polite and helpful but I had to wait...and wait.. and wait. Infact as we waited so long for someone to tell them we had done and to tally up our plates.. I had to take photos so they could tally up our bill. The food... it took so long receiving our food we ordered off the menu which meant we had to take more plates off the belt (by then we had tried almost everything) as we were left waiting far too long! Again... trying to get the attention of the staff proved to be a tiring task. The food I felt was ridiculously priced for average food. Seriously.. I have eaten at Issho, The Ivy Asia, Little Tokyo which have been exceptional! Absolutely top quality food which you can justify paying the prices. At Yo Sushi, Leeds.... I would rather have got Sushi from Sainsburys or any other supermarket. I shall not return to Yo Sushi. Please note that this is my personal food preference and if you haven't tried it before, the Japanese dining experience itself is something worth trying
