The staff were very welcoming and fun, always available and willing to help.

WTW gave me the opportunity to see the world from a different perspective and it was great; if you do a WTW programme, throw yourself into everything and you will get the most out of it.
The online resource is great to use once the process has been started, I found it very helpful. I was last minute in organising and the company were so good in helping me get everything through and organised. Once I was in the country, all the team members were great too! Hospitable and accommodating whenever they could be, I'd recommend WTW to any student!

I would recommend work the world for any student/ qualified healthcare professional.
It changed my views around medicine and patients care for the better. It’s opened my eyes in so many ways in we can care for patients and how different culture view impact medicine.
I met wonderful people who all share the same interests as me and I made friends for life.

fantastic company, no question is too small, gives all relevant information, and prepares you for placement. I had a problem with not receiving a uniform, and Amelia sorted it out. Amelia and Tim are so friendly and helpful, and I am looking forward to using this company again.

I completed a 4-week physiotherapy clinical placement in Kandy, Sri Lanka, with Work the World in the summer of 2023.

I received great support from the UK office before, during, and after my placement. The in-country programme managers Chathindri and Niranjan were always incredibly helpful, going above and beyond.

The housekeeping and kitchen staff were warm and hospitable, the house was perfectly clean and the food was always tasty.

The depth and variety of clinical experience and learning opportunities provided was brilliant and I would 100% recommend Work the World to any student wishing to broaden their horizons, learn and experience things they normally wouldn't be exposed to, and meet some great people along the way.

Before the trip work the world were amazing, so supportive and answered all my questions/concerns. Whilst out there the Tanzania team made me feel like I was at home and couldn't do enough! The whole experience was incredibly organised and well run from everyone involved.

From day one i felt supported by the work the world team with a helpful timeline of what I needed to do and when.
They were always available to talk to if needed and so helpful with any questions I had.
When we got there the team was so so lovely and helpful and made me feel at ease right away, in fact throughout my time there, there wasn't anything too much for them, they always had time for us. The two main guys need employee of the year awards!
There was such a family feel to the house we stayed in which made being away from home easier.
The placement was such an eye opener and I learnt a lot, I fell in love with the people I worked with and looked after, they were such wonderful people.
The downtime was perfectly balanced with work and we had some incredible, once in a lifetime experiences.
I only wish I had stayed longer.

I had a great time! The only thing is the village week could be a little earlier during the trip. In the last week most people want to be in the house so it is better to have it halfway through someones stay.

I went to Takoradi, Ghana in september 2022 for 7 weeks in total.
First of all the experience was great! I learned a lot and if you have a waiting gap between bachelor and master I highly recommend an internship abroad. I wouldn't recommend it if you have your bachelor and master already, because then it might be a bit boring. They will treat you still as a student. The people in the house were so kind and open to questions. The cooks were two lovely ladies who were always very enthusiastic. In the hospital the staff was at first a bit closed in the beginning and what you sometimes can interpret as rude, but in the Ghanaian culture is this their directness. During the weeks they became more and more helpful and I was able to help with many surgeries.

I have a few critical comments about my stay:
- The food: everything is thrown into the deep fryer and into fatty oil. It is definitely nice to try real Ghanaian food, but maybe not every day of the week because it is super fatty. I am not used to fatty food myself, so it would have been nice if there were more days in between with more western food without that much oil.

- The transport to the hospital: The first weeks Louis brought us to the hospital for an amount of money that we had to pay weekly. That was perfect because he was there in time and had a van that was big enough to transport everyone.
After a few weeks the gas prices began to rise and it was no longer possible for Louis to take us to the hospital. In addition to the gas prices, he also had to pay for the rent of the bus. It could have been a good idea from work the world to hire Louis and that the students had to pay a weekly amount for the gas prices, but that Louis would be hired as a driver and would get the van from work the world. It was now a hassle every morning to order a bolt.

- Village week: The village week was such a nice experience and really a recommendation!
The family where you stay during the village week and the guide didn't get paid that much while the village week costs a lot of extra money, so that is a bit strange from work the world.

Overall it was a wonderful experience which I really didn't want to miss, however I think the company gets a lot of money while the money can be invested better in the country, house, village and hospital where you go to.

Everything was great. Lovely house, marvellous staff and delicious food. 10/10. especially the food! keep it so good!

It was a wonderful experience in Iloilo! The staff where very friendly and helpful. If you need something they would help you immediately. The experience in the hospital was incredible. I saw a lot of things i would never saw in my own country.
Also a great country to travel! The filipino people are in general friendly and respectful.

I am so happy with my experience in Ghana, all thanks to Work the World. I spend three weeks in Effisa Nkwanta Regional Hospital and did one week of the village week experience. Before I left, everything I needed to know was easy to find in my personal account on their website and I had multiple phone calls. During my time in Ghana I always felt safe and welcome. Placement in the hospital was arranged well, they introduced me on the first day in every department so I knew who to approach when I started. Joe and Frank were always approachable for any questions about or wishes for my placement, for example if I wanted to visit a specific clinic the next day or spend a day in a different department than originally planned. The house was clean and safe, and all the staff is so welcoming, they really do their best for you to have the best experience. I loved bbq-night, which was organised every week and gave everybody in the house a chance to connect with each other and also relax after placement. I also appreciate the multiple feedback moment, during my time in Ghana and also after my return home. Thank you Work the World.

I cannot rate Work The World highly enough. It was an experience I’ll treasure!
The accommodation was wonderful, the staff couldn’t do enough for you (and became special friends of mine!) and the hospital experience was incredible. Such a wonderful trip.
