Rubbish. Unhelpful with no useful advice imparted, two wasted visits. I’m sure there are empathetic vets out there, use them and not this lot. I always think there ought to be a no star option which t... Mehr ansehen

White Cross “Business”
My dog has been part of the wellness plan for 10 years which since increased to £22 per month. I called to get his flea and worming treatment to which was refused until I took him for a checkup.
Unable to get him there within the forthcoming couple of weeks due to work commitments they were still happy to take the £22 a month but wouldn’t issue the flea and worm treatment.
I cancelled the DD and received a call from them the next day, they didn’t try to convince me otherwise they were happy to cancel. I can only assume my dog (Boxer) is 11 next month so will most likely start to need what would of been the free consultations I would have got on the plan.
Not really a personal experience anymore more a business now rather than a caring vet.
Our dog max reached 16 years of age and…
Our dog max reached 16 years of age and unfortunately had to be put to sleep. We entrusted him to White Cross Vets Wolverhampton to be cremated on his own and to receive his ashes in a simple scatter box. Time went by and despite a phone call and a visit to the surgery we were not told the truth of what happened and that was that he had been sent for a communal cremation and his ashes had been scattered in a field in Northampton! Yes they refunded us the charges but they robbed us of the chance to say our final goodbye. We are devastated!
Poor care, diagnosis and extortionate fees
Took my cat to white cross vets in Northampton as he was dehydrated. An examination cost 50 and they gave him antibiotics and blood tests, another 170. This had no effect over the following week so returned to the vets and they examined him again, another 50, then decided he was too weak to have fluids so he was but to sleep, another 50.
In summary, poor care, diagnosis and extortionate fees.
Have taken my dogs in wolstanton since…
Have taken my dogs in wolstanton since it opened unfortunately I will be looking for a new vet. They are charging rip off prices quoting me £60 for a booster and £600 to take a tooth out, also twice they have taken my money and promise to call later but dont. Don't know how they can justify these prices, but somebody has decided to let greed take over.
disappointed
I have used white gross bets since my puppy was 9 weeks old. He had all his injections and checks there I was charged roughly £30 for this, when my puppy was around 13 weeks old he’s ears started to bleed so I rushed him to the vets to find he had ear mites. The vets told me he would of cought there’s from his mother. When asking why this wasn’t checked on his cheek up appointment. They told me this does not get included (but if this is prone in dogs why is it not routine) so then they charged me £130 for a 5 minute appointment and one tablet I could of purchase from pets at home for £5!
I then made an appointment to get
My dog castrated they quoted me £370 remember I pay £50 insure everymonth which they recommended it apparently this operation is not covered.
I looked around for a different vets and got quoted £100 for the op and aftercare. When taking my dog in today after some routine checks he should of had at 8-13 weeks old. They discovered he had issues with his heart, why was this not picked up when I have taken him on different occasions.
The vets in its self is very friendly and hygienic but I believe they are over price and not completing simple job. My poor puppy has been suffering for months and the vets never put Vets never picked it up.
Dont bother calling them - Cold!
Back in Aug 21, my 13 yr old dog approached the end of life stage. On phoning the walkden branch for some help to support the end of life, I was cruelly dismissed and told they have no appointments - no empathy at all. Putting this down to timing, and they are local to me, I am happy to have a new puppy now and called them for support on new vaccinations for her. Once again, dismissed with comment - we are short on vaccinations and these are reserved for our patients! O M G - cold! Do not worry White Cross Vets of Walkden, Pet Medics have me booked in they do not see to have a customer service or animal empathy issue - I wont be calling you again!
They should be ashamed of themselves
When we phoned up the vet to ask for any like of advice they only ever say "bring them in" and charge £50.
Recently we rang up and asked if we need to bring our cat in because her eye had slightly turned red. We were advise to bring them into the vet where the vet looked at the eye and said nothing to do for now however it would need to be checked again in a month so see if it got any worse. This was then charged at £50. Guess what - in a month it was fine.
The only reason why we couldn't have done this check is so they could rip us off.
We might have forgive this if the prices weren't really high - more pets to see for any reason = more demand = more money
Everyone working at White Cross should be ashamed of themselves - we certainly think twice about whether to take the cat to vet now.
Unacceptable increase in cost
Firstly, I would like to say that the vets at my local branch in Gateacre Liverpool have always been very good. It is totally unacceptable that the consultation fee has jumped from £35 to £50 especially without any warning for the customer. One receptionist told me that the staff had been told of the increase only one day earlier. Does head office think this money grab is going to retain their customers or earn them new ones?
Unfortunately I lost my dog a year ago
Unfortunately I lost my dog a year ago. However I was with WCV for a few years before this and had taken out a care plan for him. Up until the moment he had to be put down. The staff at the Wolverhampton Branch were lovely and caring for my poor dog. Unfortunately, I was in hospital the day he had to be put down but a family member had called me and stated there has been an emergency with another pet and so it had been delayed. Even though there was a delay the staff stayed with him and kept feeding him treats and made his last hour amazing. I can't thank them enough. Even before this and going for routine appointments, the staff would say hello to him and even give him treats. He was always excited to go to the vets and used to run up to the doors.
Took two dogs to vets as usual for…
Took two dogs to vets as usual for yearly boosters. Told one needs a tooth extracted the cost would be £600! Have had great service from these vets in the past but this is really extortionate. Last time they had dental work it was £200 only three years ago!
Pet plan cancelled after 9 years continual payments made
Been on the pet plan through various changes of ownership at the Balby Doncaster branch for 9 years and when White Cross took over after my dog had reoccurring problems with and I had to take her a few times for treatment I received a letter saying they were taking my dog off the Pet plan as they were unable to absorb the cost any longer they offered a inferior product which I rejected all through the pandemic they have been busy this is an example of them picking and choosing who they want to treat and when your pet gets older and perhaps has ongoing health issues they will cut you off!!! and cancel the plan you may have paid into for years!! I would not recommend them or go back as money is their only concern not your pet
£60 for annual booster !!!!!!!!!
£60 for annual booster a massive increase from last year not advised of this increase prior to my dog receiving the booster at the west derby branch in Liverpool - surely you have to inform people that prices are increasing by such a large amount
just called my local vets4pets and its £47.00 there... better to save yourself some money and go there i know i will next time
Very caring friendly and professional staff and service.
Very caring, friendly and professional staff and service.
EXTORTION
Just come back from taking my 14yo Jack Russell to White Cross Vets in Weston Favell Northampton for her yearly injections and health check. The health check was a joke; the vet barely looked at her never mind examining her and for this they charged me £60 (last year was £40) a 50% increase. Not a rip-off its extortion. When I queried the price they apologised but could not explain such an exhorbitant increase. Guess who is going to find another vet then.
Avoid this vet.
Just cancelled a monthly pet plan with this vets, after 2 years we have had enough. Staff are rude, unhelpful and give out conflicting information.
Greedy
They have just increased their Liverpool consultancy fee by almost 40% in one fell swoop from £36 to £50. They are more interested in getting guaranteed profits than providing value for money. All this is a ruse to get people to sign up to their wellness plan at £19.50 per month. So, you will be expected to pay them about 500 quid a year on top of your insurance. Plenty of just as good cheaper options locally.
Ripped off
Ripped off
Charged us £85 for a medication we can buy online for under £20 with a prescription they can supply for £15 so we could have had the same stuff for £34 delivered. So why charge us £85? When challenged they just say "that's what we charge". Don't trust them any more.
The regular flea treatment we subscribe to is very hit and miss they used to tell us when it was due now we constantly have to chase them for it, I feel the service has gone down hill and no longer the value it was.
absolutely horrified by there service
absolutely horrified by there service
i had a issue with my dog that needed emergency treatment after i had taken her to the emergency vets was told that any further treatment needed to be carried out by my regular vet and i must take her there immediately for a blood transfusion got to the balby branch and they didn't want to know told them what she needed and the records had been sent from the emergency vets they told me the couldn't do a blood transfusion that day they finally took my dog inside grudgingly to be seen by a vet who without looking at my dog or the notes quoted me £2000 for anything to be done
my dog was clearly in distress and was rapidly deteriorating due to needing blood
they finally read the notes and said the only option i had available to me was to put her to sleep as it was too late to do anything
note this was a 2 year old german shepard who had just finished her heat cycle
White cross vets, Sale M33
I understand the restrictions due to covid. However it does not provide a gateway for poor service. The system in place is disorganised and frustrating. I arrived on time and it was the first time I’d been to this vets. I had no idea what to expect, there was confusion over who’s pet was to be taken in next. The vet came to the door, I had a new rescue kitten. I’d wanted her checked over to make sure she was healthy and ok - then I would have moved onto booking the things she needed. The vet took her off me, ten minutes later gave her back to me stating that she was bloated - when I asked why, I was told she didn’t know. I spent a week worrying about this until I located a new, more suitable vet practice where she has subsequently had her vaccinations and been spayed. I asked to join the pet plan which now I’m glad I didn’t as they’re overpriced. The girl said she’d print the forms off for me, 5 mins later she came back outside to inform me she was having trouble with the printer and could I come and collect at a different time - there was no follow up. Overall a very disappointing service for which I paid £35 to be told my cat was bloated for reasons unknown, and charged additional money for flea and worming treatment. Like literally what was the consultation fee for? I may as well have thrown £35 in the bin. Will never return, nor recommend.
Terrible - AVOID
After visiting a Birmingham branch of this company, I am left embarrassed, upset and appalled at the shocking disrespect and rudeness from the reception staff and one of the vets at this clinic.
Understandably we were left standing outside in the cold due to the pandemic.
However, after waiting 1 hour and being told to arrive 15minutes early over the phone, we were finally seen by a rude VET. Who grabbed my shivering puppy out of my arms and raised her voice telling me to answer my phone when she was inside. I told her the details over the phone.
The vet then came out and plonked my pup back in my arms without explaining where the microchip or vaccine had gone in (leaving me unaware of which area not to touch).
The reception staff then came out and raised her voice to me when I expressed that I wanted to enrol the pup onto the pet plan (as requested over the phone).
Whilst waiting for 1 hour, nobody came to ask me how I would like to pay or to inform me how long we would be waiting with a shivering pet in my arms.
I was humiliated in front of other customers and members of the passing public due to the clinic's poorly planned and poorly organised staff and waiting system.
Absolutely diabolical. Never have I experienced such awful service anywhere (if you can even call it service).
Needless to say, our family’s pets have now been removed from this company.
